suri stared at him.

" Do you honestly think I carry one around?"

she asked, staring a few more moments.

" Would a regular pocket knife do?"

she asked, pulling her's free.

"You have... all kinds of... backpack..." Grr. Vynz quit. He reached out with a shaking hand (which really concerned him). His fingers took the knife and looked down blearily. He pulled up the edge of his shirt, exposing the taunt skin over his chest. The man then placed the tip of the blade to his flesh between his ribs. But he was shaking so bad, he was so weak from the process of his heart being crushed, that he couldn't. The man's eyes just drifted to Suri imploringly.

Suri glanced to him, remotely horrified he'd even suggested such a thing!! The most she'd ever physically cut of another being was to skin a deer back when she was nine. ... And then it'd been against her will, too.

Making a rather discontent face, she reached over, forcing her hands to steady... if this killed him, she'd bring him back just to chew him out, then kill him again.

Vynz made a horrible face, his teeth fully extending and his skin pulling back near his nose and even up near his eyes and taunt so that they were fully bared as he hissed. Understand, he wasn't doing this at Suri, though it may have seemed like it. No, this was directed to the knife that had just sliced into his chest cavity. It didn't matter who or what you were, it was severely painful! Not to mention that Vynz didn't normally get wounded anyhow.

Now blood that seemed brighter than it should have been was oozing out around the blade, filled with little bubbles. After a minute of him sitting there, completely tensed, his chest had, well, deflated. The pressure was easing off and the excruciating pain around his heart was easing. Then, suddenly, Vynz's startling blue eyes shot open, resting on Suri with utter seriousness.

"Run."

Suri looked at him, completely perplexed. What was this guy on? did he think she was just going to follow him around the globe, then run off once he got what he needed? She thought not. However, somethign about his tone.

well, she didn't stay, but she didn't run... really, she stood in a rather slow-motion like movement, and she turned from him even more hesitantly... Perhaps they should have discussed life threatening situations a bit more indepth before this was under gone....

Vynz leaned forward, an regretted it horribly.

"I'm not joking!" His eyes then turned from her as the air seemed to explode. It was odd, actually. From what seemed to be just empty space, matter expanded outward in a rush of air.

"Who?!" The female voice shattered the air before the body was even entirely made. And when her eyes settled on Vynz then Suri, she was in a millisecond launching through the air. However, Vynz caught the woman's arm, so that all of her momentum was redirected and she crashed into the dust beside him. Vy looked up with wild eyes, baring her teeth with animal ferocity.

"I'LL KILL HER!"

"STOP!" Vynz shouted at his twin as she ripped herself free of his clutch. She was something to be seen at the moment. Apparently she had been out... She was dressed in a manner that she never was around business or employees.

Suri stared at the moment, looking to Vynz, her bubble ( as there was no other way to describe it) had popped into being visible, and the storm clouds literally came from nowhere. Way to go on the life threatening thing. No, Suri wasn't doing a dang thing right now. Merely protection spells rolling into effect as lightening started branching about her.

Talk about giving the weatherman a disadvantage....

Eyes lighting up slightly, she glanced between the two.

" It's his fault! he made me do it!"

Yep, now she wasn't running, or even worried. Vampires she could do

Hadn't anyone ever read those twilight books? .... Vampires fought werewolves, not sorceresses (( Lol/jk))

Vy was seething as she looked to her brother.

"What?" She snapped at him, completely ignoring the sorceress. She wasn't afraid of a little witch anyhow.

As exciting as a good cat fight was, Vynz was surely going to speak up. After all, he was indebted to the woman. Keeping his sister from killing her would balance out the stabbing thing. Which left him only once and seriously to her call.

"It wasn't her."

"You aren't wounded."

"No." Obviously they were overlooking the KNIFE STICKING OUT OF HIS CHEST.

"Then how were you dying?" She shot an evil glare at Suri. "Nothing but trouble!" Vynz tossed a rock at Vy.

"Just go back home."

"Do you honestly..." They seemed to have a staring contest for a while. However, it was obvious Vynz won whatever they were arguing over (using only looks. It was amusing.) Vy looked to Suri with a dark expression before kneeling down and finally looking at the knife. "Why are you two in Africa? It took me forever to find you." Okay, so Suri was safe for the time being.

she replied simply, arms still crossed. Naturally vy wasn't scared, adn of course the little sorceress wasn't either... thankfully they were squaring off. that would have been messy.

Vy actually deigned in acceptable to look at Suri now.

"Which ex?" Vynz just sighed, his hands grabbing the knife like an odd handhold.

"As fun as it is to listen to you talk about this, who wants to volunteer to stab me next if my chest starts to fill up again after I pull this out?" He looked down at the little creep of bubbly blood dripping onto the black across his skin. His tattoo was interesting. Separately it looked like he had wings tattooed onto his arms (but not the girly, fluffy kind). However, if he were to hold out both arms in front pressed together, then it suddenly became a sun in a halo of flames.

Vynz glanced up at her.

"Have you never killed a vampire before?" Or had she not been listening when he mentioned that Rosaline had stabbed him? Vy suddenly reached out and wrenched it free of his chest, and action that seemed to be made a little more brutally than required. It was obvious that Vynz was only just holding in everything inside him as he scrunched his eyes shut and pressed his lips together, repeatedly flexing and un-flexing his fists.

Vy grumbled under her breath, something about not being able to kill vampires if she was trying and trusting sorceresses and... Vynz growled and snapped at her.

"Shut up." Vy glared back and actually smacked him across the face.

"Stupid. I'm the one that just came halfway across the globe to save your sorry butt." Vynz was looking away now and it seemed like he was boiling just under the surface.

"I didn't ask you to come. Did it ever occur to you that maybe I came here because I wanted to get away from you?!" Vy stood up suddenly, indignantly.

"Fine! See how well you do on your own!"

"Better than you. I bet the bar is swallowing you whole. You never were good with it." She spit on the ground beside him, and then the air collapsed on itself. She was gone. For now.

Vynz only now looked down at his chest where his hand was clamped over the little wound. He seemed less than angry, though. He seemed sad. The last thing he needed was for his sister to get mixed up in this mess. But if he did die... he hated the idea that those would be the last words between them.

Vynz didn't move, didn't even look up.

"Did I give you the impression I hated her, new girl? Looks can be very deceiving." It was spoken jokingly, which was surprising all things considered.

Vynz smiled now, though the expression in his eyes was bitter.

"I will call you a friend, if only to appeal to your better nature. Please try to keep from guessing what my motivations are." He eyed the little bit of blood oozing from between his fingers and finally gave up, deciding that he might as well get blood on his shirt.

she stated, shaking herself out of whatever thoughts were present, taking her blade from him and starting off once more.

Vynz didn't say anything at first. However, when he did speak, his voice came from a little ways behind her.

"Would this be an appropriate moment to point out that it is going to look very strange if I just walk into that town like I am perfectly fine what with blood down the front of my shirt?" He was still pressing his hand to that spot, and walking jarred the whole thing. Then there was the lingering damage... Man... This sucked. ((*waggles eyebrows*))

Suri glanced to Vynz, smiling slightly, moving over with her wand and tapping the shirt that seemed new, and completely new too. not even the same style, clean, crisp, and slightly debonaire.

Vynz looked down at himself, looking at the shirt before turning up the sleeves.

"That would work too. I was just going to lean on you a little. But..." He tugged on it slightly.

"At the risk of making it sound like I'm saying it's okay for you to pretend I'm a mannequin that you can dress however you like, I must say you have good taste."

Vynz stopped on the sidewalk. On one side of the street there was a soup, salad, and sandwich restaurant. On the other, there was a grocery store.

Looking between the two, suri glanced to Vynz. it'd take about five standard size salads to fill her stomach, however, she hated grocery stores... so.... without liking the idea of looking a pig, she wondered into the little restaurant.

Vynz sat down with her. The waitress walked up, holding a pen and pad offhandedly.

"What will you have today?" She spoke it blandly, however, she actually did a double take to the cursory glance she threw at Vynz. The man sighed internally. Yeah, that happened to him all the time. His eyes turned to Suri, waiting for her to order.

The woman scribbled absently.

"Anything to drink?"

Vynz sighed to himself, propping his head up on his hand.

"I just want some water and a tomato, when you get around to it." The girl looked up at him with a huge grin. She reached over suddenly and touched his face, using her forefinger and thumb to open his eye a little wider. The man remain still, though he did look over at Suri. The waitress laughed as she removed her hand.

"The gray ring around your iris is especially dark. That means you need potassium, so I'll bring you a banana too." Then she scurried off, forgetting that she was waiting for Suri's answer. Vynz looked at the sorceress with a sigh.

"Just once. Just once, I would like to have a male server. Heck, I'd settle for a lesbian!"

she replied softly.

" comes back to that friend thing."

she stated simply, not bothered by being ignored. it went with low profile, however, she did disappear to acquire a drink and a refill pitcher, just in case, setting back down at the table.

Suri looked over Vynz, making a small face.

" My friends end up dead, my family ended up dead... the friends due to association, my family because I was young and they refused to teach me the proper ways and my spell went wrong... very wrong..."

" You don't want to fall into the category. I don't want another life on my hands."

She informed him softly, feeling like a piece of bubble gum that had been spit on the side of the highway, driven over and baked in, grimey, and unwanted, hated by everyone for being stuck upon their shoe.

Vynz carefully folded one hand in the other, resting his chin on them as his bright blue eyes peered at her through her speech. He spoke quite plainly, which was his mark.

"I know I'm supposed to say 'I'm sorry', but I think that it would be stupid to do so. I don't know the circumstances. I wasn't there. I empathize your pain, but I know that no about of that from me will make you feel any better." He shifted slightly, breaking off just long enough for the food to be placed on the table.

"Things being what they are, that still does not deter me. You're my friend, and since you had to jump through so many hoops before being classified as such, you're stuck with it, new girl. Not to mention that I'm owed one to you, and I'm going to die anyhow pretty soon." He raised a brow.

Vynz just shrugged and gave a grunt, conveniently shoving banana into his mouth so that he wouldn't have to answer. By the time he had finished, the man glanced around and up to her again.

"So... You finish that. I have some shopping to do." Seeing as she still had four salads... He dropped some money onto the table and then slid out of the restaurant.

Vynz for a moment considered climbing up onto the roof of the nearby building just so he could hop down in front of her. However, he decided against it and merely walked up behind Suri.
