Ajora groaned and followed the man, her head a bit buzzed as she caught up to him, cash currently stashed... she'd figure that out later, for now, what the heck?

As she finally caught the man she stopped him and looked him over.

" Come on, you need to get clothes."

Kai looked down at his shirt.

"I don't know... I'm kind of fond of this little hole." He stuck his finger though it again, but his tone was obviously giving in.

" You'll draw attention if your not properly dressed."

Ajora smirked as they were soon inside a large mall, and she was dragging kai around, attempting to find him proper clothing.

"I don't like malls..." That was really all he said. At least for the first thirty seconds.

"I don't like all these people..." Kai frowned.

"How long do we have to be here?"

Ajora countered, ignoring the whining, looking about the store with ease.

Kai held up the first pair of jeans he found in his size and a t-shirt. He looked at her hopefully, wanting to leave. T-shirt slogan: Chicks dig Redheads.

Ajora stared at him, shaking her head simply, putting the shirt back, wondering about the store, soon having him loaded down with things he needed to try on. Yep, he was getting some real shopping done.

Kai groaned.

"Why do I have to try this all on? It's my size. It will fit." He stumbled around a little, barely able to see over the pile.

"And I better get a backpack to carry this in or something..."

Smiling slightly, ajora laughed to herself and piled more articles on, shoving him into the dressing room, bringing him more things as he worked on trying to wittle down the pile he had. he was currently fighting a loosing battle.

Clothes were flying out as he threw them over the door.

"I can't breathe in this!" Whoosh.

"I look like a cupie doll in this!" Whoosh.

"I just don't like this!" Whoosh.

"THIS IS FOR A GIRL!" WHOOSH!

Ajora sighed, handing him a few more things over the door, then started sliding box, after box of shoes under the door.

the clothes being tossed out?? The sale associates had moved a rolling bin over to catch them as he tossed things out.

Kai was groaning.

"I ONLY NEED ONE PAIR OF SHOES!" So he picked out one pair and dumped the rest over the door.

"Can I go home now?"

Ajora replied firmly, looking like a mother that wouldn't budge as the sales associates appeared to be taking bets on what would happen.

Kai literally snatched them and threw them over the woman's head. Okay, she probably had a lot of things on him, but he had a whole HALF INCH of height on her. Take that.

She stated flatly now, watching the woman ring them up in silence.

Kai looked at Ajora now, his expression so mixed that it was unreadable as he took the now purchased box into his hands and opened the lid to peer inside. However, as his eyes brushed across her choice, the emotion that crossed his face was like crystal. It was the look of mourning. He walked away and left everything there on the counter, taking not a single bag as he slunk straight out of the mall.

Kai was sitting cross-legged on top of the trashcan (it was one of those fancy ones that had the cover). He scratched absently at that place behind his right ear where her voice always echoed in his head when she spoke to him like this. Chiding was not the action to soothe sore nerves, so the man just sat there. Like she hadn't already treated him like a child? She couldn't let him have the tiny sliver of dignity, the minuscule boon that he wanted?

Malykai sat there for a long moment, glaring at her. She honestly had no idea. Then, all off the sudden he seemed to either explode or collapse. It wasn't exactly obvious which one. His legs unfolded and he slipped off of the can, speaking at her in a voice slightly more... emphatic than normal.

"Look! See what I noticed in the dressing room!" The man reached down and grabbed the hem of his shirt, pulling it all of the way off of his head. Yes, right there in front of everyone at the mall... well, not really considering that he was standing in a little alcove off of the main thing. Normally he would have been a little more nervous about it, but he was so distressed that it didn't seem to matter.

Across where the back Kai's right shoulder swelled in that place where the muscle connected his neck to his shoulder was a perfect purple-black bruise. It looked like someone had walked up behind him and bit him. Then, lower, just below the shoulder blade near the ribs was a huge (as in, bigger than a hand) blue-green bruise. The darkest, almost blue-black places seemed to be where the pads of a hand would strike in a shove, though they were nowhere near defined enough to be sure.

"That had never happened to me before! No matter what I saw! But you... and those shoes..." Malykai trailed off, clamming up and yanking his shirt back on, seeming to fade into a dark brood.

Kai turned around now, looking at her as his 'brooding' seemed to swell a little. He turned around and actually grabbed her upper arms. Granted, he was more or less a weakling and she was a vampire so it wasn't like he could have hurt her even if he had intended to, but still! It was difficult to separate his thoughts into something that resembled mental speech, but he managed to... He might have been yelling at her, but he wasn't sure nor was it intentional.

I saw it. I saw what would cause worse than this! I saw the bite! I saw the strike! It was the future - it can't have happened, yet these marks are on me! ...You! And those shoes! Kai blinked several times, pulling his hands away and balling them into fists.

"Speak to me. My head feels like it's been whacked off and stuck on upside down. I don't want voices in my head right now, and I can barely keep them out on my own." One could see that he was methodically drawing air in through his nose and out through his mouth. Malykai realized he sounded crazy, and he was trying to calm down, despite how shaken up he was.

Malykai was actually glaring at her now, but it was more out of hurt than anything else. It wasn't like he was making this up. It wasn't like he could have given himself bruises like that. He shook his head and let out another long breath.

"No. The shoes didn't cause it." AH! The first really sensible thing he had said in a while!

"Yes. I saw what caused this. Kind of." Kai murmured something about the future being fickle and fluid... before he realized he was off-topic again. He looked up at her, not entirely aware that he was massaging his temples.

"At first I thought it was you, but you don't match up and I just... I just... Gah. You just had to make me get the shoes." Okay... well, he did alright for a while now. He was walking, more so that it felt better not just to stand and be still. Maybe if he was doing something, he would be able to work through this.

Ajora stared at him a moment, shaking her head slowly, eyes resting upon him. Honestly, now she didn't understand, but she did understand the fact that this was something that was really bothering the man, so she left the fact he sounded crazy go for the moment, merely following him with the new merchandise, keeping the he's crazy statement to herself.

Malykai looked at her very pointedly now.

"Because I think you're clouding my Eye." He crossed his arms, not getting up. What was the point?

"And things are fragmented even more than normal. Like, I want to tell you to call Lucian, but I don't know why. I don't know what is making me think that. I look at those shoes and I feel absolute dread because that is one thing that I saw with perfect clarity..."
