Leprechauns, Trolls, and Banshees, Oh My!

Ajora nodded now and moved over to the child, looking a t rather awkward and complete loss as the child clunge to her once awake, lookign utterly confused on what to do now, awkwardly patting him on the back.

[Sushi]

Kai didn't say anything, his eyes didn't even light up into a smile. He just stared at the two of them for a minute, watching the actions and absorbing the colors, the vibrations. Then, as he was still feeling awful, the man simply shut his eyes.

[Tree]

ajora managed to live through child nightmare and resleeping process, and was standing to look at Kai's monitors when it happened.... her stomach growled.

[Sushi]

There was only one problem. Ajora was standing near Kai's head when that happened. So he was jarred from his drifting off with a violent start. In fact, it was so violent that he accidentally hit her, ripping out his IV. The man made some interesting noises as his eyes welled up.

[Tree]

ajora knew a few things about veins, so replacing the IV with a new one was easy, however, she had nothing to offer the man but an apology as she looked at his pain and felt bad for her hunger waking him.

[Sushi]

Kai wanted to grit his teeth, but he couldn't. So, he dealt by repeatedly clenching and unclenching his fist. He really needed to sleep. He was feeling lightheaded. And sick. It was strange to have something else working your lungs for you, but he was just so tired... The man actually drifted straight back out. (With no fault to the painkillers, surely!)

Sighing, Ajora weighed her optioned before opting on going out, deciding she didn't trust delivery boys, gone fast, returning even faster as she sat in the floor, watching his monitors and eating her chinese.

[Sushi]

It was the next day when the man actually came to again. The bright side? His fever had faded, and his chest tube was not pulling nearly as much fluid off his chest cavity. Kai was able enough to actually really move his arms today, though all he did with them was lay them across his chest. He was contemplating pulling this breathing tube out, but wasn't sure how long it was. He didn't want to get stuck halfway and strangle himself. But then again, he felt awful. He probably needed the breathing thing. That was the main reason he decided not to do anything.



The man's gaze shifted to Ajora now, seeing as there was very little to look at in this room, and she was the only thing moving. Why was this all happening? Why was she trying so hard to keep him alive? He mentally groaned.

[Tree]

Looking to the now waking man, she smiled faintly, moving to check everything opver and hook up a new IV drip.



Feeling any better today?

[Sushi]

Kai went to nod, but then he realized that he couldn't.



Yeah...

It was probably a couple days later when he woke up and finished counting the ceiling tiles for the millionth time.



Ugh! I want this thing out! Referring to the tube. He was feeling a lot better by now. Granted, it wasn't completely better, but he felt like he should be able to breathe on his own if nothing else.

[Tree]

You heal faster without stressing your body out to do more work.



Ajora replied simply as she had invested in more things to care for the young boy, as it appeared that they were stuck with him indefinitely.

[Sushi]

Kai was throwing yet another baby fit.



I don't care! It was to the point that he was contemplating pulling it out himself. Granted, he would never actually do that, and Ajora would probably be able to talk him down if she really wanted to, he was still thinking about it.

[Tree]

Besides, teh child is awake right now, we don't need to tramatize him anymore then he's already been through. that aside, I don't see out location being kept secret for forever..... That being said, you need to heal as fast as possible.

[Sushi]

After a few more internal grumbles, Kai gave up to the fact that he couldn't do anything about it.



You always call him 'the child'. Does that mean he hasn't told you his name yet? Kai had learned it when he had learned the child spoke mostly Spanish at his home, but he was very careful never to use it. It was one of those things that you didn't want to spook someone with.

I can't properly understand him enough to try to say it.

[Sushi]

Kai paused for a minute, mulling this over. If he had already said it, then...



Ezequiel. But everyone just calls him Zeque. He enunciated as clearly as he could in his mind.

[Tree]

I think I'll go with Z then... it's about all I'll remember.

[Sushi]

Kai didn't say anything else. He just lay there, counting the ceiling tiles again.

[Tree]

As a few more days passed, and kai was now IV and monitor free, Ajora was setting on the bed, spoon feeding him as the man was still working on getting his strength back.

[Sushi]

Kai swallowed, speaking in that raspy voice he had been dealing with for the past day or so. Then again, anyone that spent a prolonged period of time with a tube down their throat would be the same.



"Come on. I can do the spoon myself." He had been whining about this for the past five minutes.

[Tree]

Ajora didn't even pay him any heed as she slipped another spoonful into the man's mouth, watching as Z played with his transformers on the floor.

[Sushi]

"Ahouwa! Githem poo me!" The man was frowning and only half sympathetic as he accidentally spit on her a little.

[Tree]

Ajora looked at him, rather pointedly wiping her face, eyes locked on the man.



" stop. Either eat, or starve."



She held out the spoon again.

[Sushi]

Kai clamped his mouth shut, speaking out of a teeny tiny little corner.



"Stwarf."

[Tree]

ajora smiled.



" nice try."



she replied, shoving another spoonful in his mouth, pointing to the IV





" Don't make me hook it up again."

[Sushi]

Kai glared at her.



"If I were to start smoking, would you rip those out of my mouth too?"

[Tree]

" Yes."



she replied honestly.

[Sushi]

Kai gave a frustrated cry.



"It's just a spoon! Why can't I feed myself?!"

[Tree]

" You need your energy."

[Sushi]

"It's not like I'm trying to move a couch. It's a spoon, for crying out loud!"

[Tree]

Ajora looked at him flatly and shoved the last spoonful in his open mouth and went to wash the spoon and toss the container.

[Sushi]

Kai glared and sulked for quite a while after that. Then again, he had been doing that for a while now. He didn't like being babied. He didn't believe in the 'mother-figure' idea.

[Tree]

After a while, perhaps another two days, Kai was finally taking a shower to make himself smell better, and teh room getting cleaned.

[Sushi]

((Great, what am I supposed to post to that? -.- It was just a post for my character. Uh...))



Ajora noted how funny he smelled. Darn hotel soap.

[Tree]

Making a small face, still wondering what smell she liked better, Ajora finally settled with the soap as she looked Kai over, still making him walk along lines and say his ABC's backwards to assure herself he was well.

[Sushi]

Kai stood there on one foot, patting his head and rubbing his belly.



"Z Y X W T V... uh, I mean... U T...GAH! This is ridiculous! I have never been able to say them backwards!" With that, he stomped his foot down and stopped with the rubbing/patting.

[Tree]

Ajora laughed and finally conceeeded, shaking ehr head.



" Now, od you wanna go get real food, Z?"



as the boy nodded, she looked to Kai.

[Sushi]

Kai raised a brow.



"It depends if I get to feed myself." However, he was just joking and had already opened the door.

[Tree]

" OF course !!! It's not like I'm gonna feed you!"



ajora joked as they were now being driven to the local golden coral.

[Sushi]

Kai was sitting there, rapping his fingers together as he stared at the building.



"Oh goodie." And then his face fell.



"Oh cra.p" He looked at her.



"All my money and identification and everything drowned in the Gulf of Mexico."
