Leprechauns, Trolls, and Banshees, Oh My!

[Tree]

The little boy looked to the woman a moment, then hesitantly said that she acted alot like his sister use to towards him.

[Sushi]

Kai smiled and laughed.



"They're only like that because they care." He tossed a joking look to the woman.

[Tree]

Ajora glanced over, shaking ehr head again, finally settling down in the boat.



" I care for the innocent."

[Sushi]

Kai was just playing, though. He didn't mean anything by it. The man sunk down so that he was half laying.



Then, suddenly, a whale surfaced, blowing water out its spout. The boat tipped over and dumped them all in the water.

[Tree]

Ajora first found the child, then looked to Kai as he bobbed to the surface, many words in a varying array of languages flew from her mouth as she cursed the seas themselves.

[Sushi]

Kai could swim. However, he reached over and all but dunked her.



"ARE YOU STUPID?! REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME YOU INSULTED THE OCEAN?"

[Tree]

" LIKE IT MATTERS!!!! THAT HIPPO OF A WHALE JUST sentenced you two to DEATH!!"

[Sushi]

Kai simply began to tread water. His eyes slowly trailed about as he was pushed up and brought down by the sea. He was startled half to death as the whale swam beneath them, brushing his foot. Other than that, though...



"You would think that I'd have seen this coming..." It was spoken somewhat bitterly.

[Tree]

Ajora sighed, shaking her head as she sighed, handing the child to Kai, swimming over to the life boat, then up under it. Yes, about ten minutes later she has it flipped back over and was pulling herself inside. The goodnews? about a third of the supplies were still edible. The bad news? Half those supplies that were saveable were out of reach, the medical supplies were gone, and she was now going off memory to get them to any kind of land once so ever.

[Sushi]

Kai wasn't very strong to begin with, and he was sick on top of that. So, add that to a panicking child, and things were bound to go downhill. He eventually pushed the kid up onto the boat, though he was suddenly caught in the undertow as the whale swam by. He lost track of what was up and what was down and he felt like his head was going to burst. Then, suddenly, the whale came beneath him and surfaced. He lay on the back of the thing, gasping wildly.

ajora looked over, making a face. MEN!!! Looking to the boy in the boat before grumbling and diving out and swimming up to the whale. Making a rather unhappy sound, she climbed atop the creature ( I wouldn't ask her how, she scares me right now.) and looked over Kai.



" Your a guy."



Yep, that's what she had to say to it.

[Sushi]

Kai looked at her and his face actually fell like ten levels of depression. He had by this point figured out what she thought of men. So now he just looked at the boy.



"Well then go to him and just leave me alone."

[Tree]

" No. Your an innocent guy, so come on. I don't think the whale will stay surfaced forever."

[Sushi]

Kai frowned.



"I don't care if you think I'm 'innocent'. I don't even know what that means!" He rubbed his feverish face.



"Maybe I'm supposed to die here. Did you consider that?"

[Tree]

Ajora rolled her eyes and scoffed at him, bending and throwing him off the whale and jumping down into the water, bobbing beside him, she grabbed hold of the man firmly and was soon back in the boat, glaring at him.



" It's never set in stone."

[Sushi]

Kai was gripping the side of the boat, and he looked like he might throw up. But then he was actually pretty upset.



"Stop touching me!" He waited a minute, his face flushing even more with being upset before he whirled on her.



"Who the hell is Lucien?!"

[Tree]

ajora stopped, looking over him for a moment, shaking her head.



" someone of no worry, now calm down."

[Sushi]

Kai was not calming down.



"No! Don't lie to me. I've been trying to keep everything about you out of my head, but you keep TOUCHING me! And that's been floating around in my head, in my DREAMS for crying out loud!"

[Tree]

Ajora smirked.



" Then stop dreaming about me."

[Sushi]

Kai glared, now getting close to livid.



"Don't you think I've tried?! I'm trying to block it out to respect your privacy, and it gives me headaches for trying. But you just CAN'T SEEM TO KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF ME!"

[Tree]

ajora looked at him a moment then disappeared. Yep, the boat was empty save for Kai and the supplies.

[Sushi]

Kai was startled at first. But it slowly sank in, and as it did, he felt worse and worse. The man sat there for a while and then began to shiver, not really able to do anything. The boat bobbed in the water and he had no idea which way to go. Then again, he got to the point that he didn't even care. He felt miserable. In fact, when he finally picked up the oars and began paddling in a random directly, the man was actually crying.

ajora looked to the small, cold, wet child and sighed, drying him off with a nearby blanket and lifted him up, walking outside. No, it wasn't her home, actually, she wasn't sure who's it was. she'd been so upset when she'd left that she'd just kind of... poofed, however, there was always a walk mart close by, so time to dress the small lad and get him some food.... off to shop she went.

[Sushi]

Malykai rowed for hours, until it felt like his arms were going to fall off. His head was splitting and his fever had returned with a vengeance. The man eventually just squirmed down lower in the boat, shivering. And then it began to rain. Great.

[Tree]

Ajora didn't start feeling guilty until the following morning concerning Kai, and with a small face she was forced to focus as the man, and a good amount of water dropped into the free bed in the motel room.

[Sushi]

Kai rolled straight off of the soggy bed, into the floor, and only just managed to grab the trash can before he puked. He didn't say anything, though. He just lay there on the carpet, face down with his fingers gripping the edge of the can.

[Tree]

Placing medicines and dry clothes, with blankets beside him, Ajora left him and the child in the room, least she break her own rules and feed from innocent... it'd been days....

[Sushi]

When she was gone, Malykai staggered to his feet. His head was foggy and his legs felt like jello. However, he cast an apologetic look at the boy and then wandered out into the city. He soon tripped and fell down into a ditch where he promptly passed out.

[Tree]

Soon after feeding, Ajora tripped over Kai and sighed, lifting him up and returning to the room, placing him in bed, loading him with covers and managing to get serval pills and a glass of water into him, looking to the boy absorbed in the TV.

[Sushi]

Kai lay there, shivering and yet unconscious. He was barely breathing, shallow and raspy. If Ajora knew anything of medicine, she would recognize that Kai's flu had progressed into full-blown pneumonia. Yeah, if she wanted to feel guilty about something, this would be a good something to pick.

[Tree]

Sighing, she shook her head as she was now tending the weak and helpless man.

[Sushi]

It was probably two or three hours later when Kai suddenly stopped breathing altogether. He had so much fluid on the lungs that it was highly restricting his breathing and ultimately his oxygen intake. His brain was so deprived that it stopped fully processing things - like breathing.

[Tree]

Ajora managed to get the man breathing again, but had to call a doctor who made house calls, due to the fact the hospitals were still looking for the two of them, nation wide now... and they'd (or more accurately, herself) had made the mistake of bringing them back to the same country........ Not that they had ever left it, aside from their water experience.



After giving her some new meds, and telling her how to use the monitors he'd setup on kai, and then left, after a very large amount that was paid to him... Ajora wasn't so sure part of it wasn't hush money not to tell where they were... She was alright with that.

[Sushi]

After some time, the man woke up... to a tube down his throat. Granted, he felt far too bad to fight it, though it did scare him a little. Come on, was this insane. His eyes wandered to the IV, and to a little tube that was actually sticking out of his chest with cloudy fluid slowly moving through it.

[Tree]

Ajora smiled, and bent her normal rules, ever so slightly. feeling alright?

[Sushi]

Kai nearly jumped out of his skin. Talk about something that would scare the poo out of someone... The jerking motion tugged on his tubes and tape, which was painful. Then, after a moment or two he was able to calm down. He just looked between the various apparatuses and her, giving a flat look. What kind of question was that?

[Tree]

Well, considering how you could be....



She replied, looking to the child that was sleeping in the other bed.

[Sushi]

Kai sighed internally. What could be worse than this? Dead? He thought not. Dead would be more comfortable. His eyes drifted to the little boy, brows furrowing. Then, for no reason apparent, Kai grabbed the only thing he could move enough to reach: a tissue box. He attempted to throw it and hit the child in the next bed, but it just kind of flipped off the bed.



Dang it.

[Tree]

what are you trying to do?!?



Ajora asked, looking rather unhappy at him hitting the child, or trying to anyway.

[Sushi]

Kai looked over at her now. See, he wasn't unused to having voices in his head - it was actually a quite common occurrence. What he was unused to was for the voice to be sentient, responsive. So, testing a theory, he thought clearly.



Wake him up. He's having a nightmare.
