Naomi would slip to sleep now, even as Storm growled at the door. It was mew, but he didn't know that.

It's just Mew. He's cleaning up the mess. He's not going to be coming in - the door is locked.

Storm kept growling until he fell asleep.

Naomi would not be allowed sleep for long, and would wake, looking at Hunter.

Why?

She asked, gently touching over Hunter's face.

Hunter was soberly quiet for a long moment before sighing and kissing her forehead.

You mean so much to me... I wish that I could have protected you. I might not have, but I can at least protect you from his constant criticisms and attacks from him. The way he treats everything...

And he felt like he had failed again, especially with her feeling that way. This was going to completely crush her spirit if he kept screwing up again and again. Hunter just tenderly massaged her lips with his.

Naomi kissed him back, snuggling as tight as she could to him, soaking up the attention as her body worked on being better. it wouldn't be long, perhaps another day.

Max. He could smell max this time. Storm leaped from his daddy's arms at the door when max got too close. ... your son was picking up on your issues, daddy.

"Hey, stay away from there. It's okay. Stay in here."

If Max knew what was any good for him, he'd stay away from the locked door.
