Naomi smiled and moved free of his arms now to go see what the knock at the door was about... or, she intended to, but Max battered her away.

Hunter opened the door... and after a small explosion, he was just standing there, his clothes shredded and his skin a little scuffed with scorching. His hair was sticking out in every direction and he coughed out a wisp of smoke, blinking.

"Well, I wasn't expecting that."

I don't think it would destroy the house. It was a pretty small, isolated thing.

He moved then to look out the window. It really was a fantastic fireworks show now visible.
