" Oh, I've taken in a drama king..."

She said, smile still in place as she gave him one of those ' stop please' looks.

" You need to get cleaned up, bath room is right over there."

She informed him, gesturing to a room off of his.

Darryn looked at the door scornfully. That would require him getting up and walking all the way across the room. Maybe he didn't need... He gave a little sniff and he was surprised that he was able to keep from vomiting. Scratch that. He was pretty funky.

"Yes, Mommy." And so he stood up, growling inwardly at the nagging nausea. Maybe I'm pregnant... Then Darryl made his way to the door, ready to take the shower.

Ashleigh looked after Darryn, laughing under her breath.

Darryn just paused at the door and looked over his shoulder, throwing her a huge smile, his pearly whites reflecting the light. He didn't say anything, though, and went on to take a shower.

He tried not to look around too much. There was a bunch of girlie stuff. It was kind of scary.

Showering herself, Ashleigh walked outside into the warm light and cold air, lookign to the wolves that were right outside her front door, sending them away, setting down in the snow and relaxing a bit, wet hair freezing in place.

After showering, Darryn didn't go to find Ashleigh (seeing as - at the moment - he didn't have a death wish). He did, however, walk around with a towel wrapped around his waist trying to figure out what on earth had happened to his clothes. He knew that he had left them on the floor...

Walking inside a while later, checking on Darryn's clothes in the dryer, hair still frozen solid, Ashleigh went to check on Darryn, noticing him looking about his room frantically.

" ... Loose something?"

Darryn looked at her, his brow drawing together in a sort of sarcastic expression as he tugged on the towel.

"Eh... not really. My clothes walk off all of the time."

" You should keep a better watch on them then."

ashleigh replied, looking him over, smiling slightly.

" Their are more clothes in the wardrobe."

Darryn shrugged with an offhanded gesture.

"I try to, but you know - when they get older they just tend to have a mind of their own." He walked over to the wardrobe and opened the left side. His mouth twitched with restrained laughter as he saw that this side was filled with only women's clothes. He pulled out a pink sundress with little purple ruffles on it.

"My color?"

Darryn stuck the thing back in the closet, opening the other side. As he ruffled through the clothes of various sizes, he kind of had to wonder why she had them all. She could clothe a whole town... and the militia! He ended up pulling out a pair of crimson boxers, a black shirt and a pair of jeans to tug on.

"Thanks."

Darryn gave her a devilish grin.

"Are you kidding?" He raised his eyebrows, leaning forward almost eagerly. He reappropriated the question.

Darryn rolled his eyes in response too. He didn't even smell like them anymore - showers tended to have that effect. However, he followed after her.

"You're not like one of those stir-crazy vegan dealies, are you?"

Darryn sighed.

"All right smartie pants. You know what I meant. Besides, there is a huge difference between diet and necessity." He stuck his hand in the pocket of the jeans only to pull out a mothball. The man wrinkled his nose disdainfully as he flicked it into a vase they were passing.

"Well then, what kind of food do you have?"

" well, I do have home grown veggies and fruits, as well as homemade bread, and deer steak, and cow steak, perhaps some lamb chops still in the freezer... A few other odds and ends, might still have some cheddar cheese left..."

"Sounds good." Darryn walked ahead of her opening the refrigerator and peering in.

"Well look at that." He then began to pull it all out and unwrap it before searching for things to eat off of and with. The man threw he a glance.

"Would you like some?"

Ashleigh politely declined as she watch the man open about five cabinets before finding the one with the plates, a small smirk on her face as she watched him hunt for the utensils.

Darryn looked about, searching through all of the drawers and was just about to give it up and resort to the old (if though a bit crude) standby of eating with his hands. And then he found them. The woman had a cabinet with a lazy suzanne displaying all of her silverware.

"Look who's a fancy pants." Food was sounding good - he could probably eat a horse right about now.

As Darryn swallowed a huge chunk of deer steak, he waved the fork at her as though thinking.

ashleigh informed him, smiling as she saw her puppy come bouncing into the room. Okay, so it was an infant wolf cub that the pack had refused to take in, and it was completely harmless... but she supposed technically he wasn't a puppy...

" Oh there's my little one..."

Darryn looked up from his food and his eyes widened massively. His reaction was instantaneous. The man leaped up from where he was standing, landing in a crouch on her counter, arms outspread as the fork clattered to the floor. And then he realized what he had done and looked at Ashleigh.

"Uh... reflex?"

Darryn scratched the back of his head as he climbed off of the counter, mumbling under his breath.

"Try saying that after you're nearly mauled to death." He picked up a bowl of green bean he had knocked off.

" I understand, that's why I kept him out of your room, however, he runs about the house as if it were his home... because it is his home. I've had him since two days after he was born... I'm pretty much his mommy. He wouldn't hurt anyone in my house, just those outside it."

Ashleigh explained simply, smiling as she brushed the young cub.

Darryn walked up to the creature, bending forward so that his face was hovering just a little way away from the pup.

"Alright. What's its name?" He blinked and stuck his finger out to try and pet it.

Ashleigh replied, laughing as Darryn got his finger and face both licked and the young cub wagged it's tail.

" It really does just think it's a dog..."

Ashleigh noticed, grinning more as it tried to bark and failed at doing so smoothly, shaking her head.

Darryn straightened up with a chuckled.

"Okay, well, until he tries to tear my liver out, I like the little guy. You have my approval." He patted his side where he still had a bandage.

On the bright side, Darryn was doing well after so much time. Not that it was particularly remarkable, but considering the extent of the damage... eh. However, she managed to poke a spot that was still surprisingly tender.

"ERG!" The man reflexively chomped down on his fork as he jumped, the little metal prongs cutting the roof of his mouth open. "AUH!" He put down the fork, repeatedly opening and shutting his mouth as he waited for it to stop bleeding.

((BTW, as I was typing this, I was acting out Darryn's expressions and didn't realize it - that is, until Nicholas walked in the room and just stood there, staring at me with one of those 'what-crack-are-you-on?' expressions.))

Laughing at Darryn, Ashleigh giggled and grinned as she moved to tend to the infected wound, looking up as she realized that he'd bitten the fork, smirking a bit more, shaking her head slowly.

" You gonna be okay?"

Darryn looked at her, his eyes squinted a bit as she prodded and whatnot. He ran his tongue along the roof of his mouth before speaking.

"I don't know." He smacked his lips, his bloodstained teeth flashing emphatically as he rolled his eyes.

"I'm not sure I can handle the taste. I might vomit." He faked a gag.
