Victoria responded honestly, looking down to her stomach.

" ..... Perhaps my child will at least care about me?"

She asked softly, looking very hopelessly lost right now.

Dessa frowned now. This was a troubling matter.

"I don't know." She furrowed her brow until a little crease appeared.

"You know what? That is it. I came here because I cared that you were caught here. So, despite what... what Mister Darrenthrope does or says, I'm staying. At least for now."

Victoria heard those words, and lost the little composure she had. That was it. Falling into tears, she moved from the bed now, stumbling ( Or falling, which was more accurate as she fell down the stiar case) to her room, and collapsing in her bed, not caring about the bruises, cuts, or even scrapes.

She was admitting defeat at this point. She planned on staying, alone in her own room, and dying in her bed. She wouldn't be a burden to anyone this way. Lot could have his silent life back, and neither she, nor her child wold be in turmoil.

Dessa followed her, hovering not more than a few steps behind. At least not until they reached the doorway to the woman's room. The girl didn't understand. She looked at Victoria with dark eyes.

"I'm sorry Alexi... I didn't mean..." Sigh. She slid to sit on the ground, waiting.

Victoria sobbed herself into dehydration, unaware of the bleeding from newly open wounds, holding herself tightly, heart shattered for the millionth time. It wasn't going to mend back up too many more times as she laid upon her bed, looking to a picture she'd painted of herself and Lot, throwing it into the wall, unaware it had hit the hall wall and broken in half.

Dessa disappeared for a moment and returned with a dented up first aid kit from a bathroom. The girl walked over and pulled out a few bandages. She was going to fix the woman up, even if she started swatting.

That was right about the time that Lot walked in. His eyes drifted amongst the two and then to the broken things, including Victoria. Then the golden orbs snapped to Dessa.

"What did you do?!"

Victoria pushed Dessa away, and threw one of the several bowls along the window sill at Dessa, making her leave, curling up tighter in her bed. She wanted Lot to be happy. But, she knew that wouldn't be with her, despite his best efforts. Despite how hard she tried... she'd never be what he even enjoyed... beyond the sex, that is.

Why did Dessa leave? Well, you see, the pot opened up a wound on the girl. Be it very small, but her immediate instincts (at least for right now) were to run and protect herself.

Needless to say, Lot let her go. He picked up a piece of the broken painting and sighed. See, even when in an uncomfortable setting, blood was a peacemaker in the man. So, for now Vicky almost had a free ticket. Lot's eyes considered the piece in his hands.

"Something is bothering you." It was actually kind of a question.

She asked in response, in a depressive state that was to the uttermost bottom, considering everything and anything right now, fully aware of the drain-o nin her bathroom.

Lot leaned over, this time he was full, so he didn't have so much problem as he reached over and took the woman by the shoulder. He pressed his mouth to a small wound so that it would seal up. He pulled back and actually hiccuped.

"Well, something close to that once upon a time." Hiccup.

Victoria looked to him, eyes showing how shattered she was as she looked to Lot.

" Even that little stranger knows what I know... Odds are, even my child won't love me back."

She said, voice breaking.

" I'm wanted by everyone, and loved by none."

Lot flopped backwards, staring at the ceiling.

"I think that love is a lot like happiness. Ephemeral." It was almost disturbing how he seemed entire unbothered by this thought. It was almost cheery in the manner that it tumbled from his lips.

Victoria asked, ignoring his statement.

" I mean... if your unable to love me.... let me go...... Please, just try again with a girl who can be just your pet to sleep with and keep your house... a million girls can handle it..."

she was trying to point out that she was either giving up on life, with or without his help at this point. she was in a depression... again, but odds are, given her physical state, it wouldn't take long for her to die... especially since she hadn't kept her food down, and her stomach only held her child once more.

Lot yawned and gave another hiccup. He seemed to be drifting off as they spoke, which was really quite possible. He normally did have to take a nap right after... It was even worse than sex.

Victoria looked at him, and couldn't stop the pain in her voice as she carefully moved in the bed.

" I can't live without compassion.I can't live without love. "

she said gently, broken.

" I love you. I always will. I know you can't... I knew I was doomed to something like this."

She said as she moved from him completely, looking him over.

" Is there anything you want from me?"

She asked gently, trying to find out if there was one last thing she could do for him.

Lot was out. There was no way that he even stood a chance of coming out of it for twenty minutes, bare minimum. Thus was the reason that most vampires tended to hide for a little while after a feed. It was the ideal time to try and kill them.

However, Dessa was interested more in things that did not include slaying. At least for today. As was stated, she was pretty progressive of a slayer anyhow. The girl, having stuck a band aid across her forehead, had followed the girl outside. She was completely silent right now, letting the woman have her peace.

Victoria sobbed hard as she looked at the cold depths of the water before her, and looked down to her belly.

" I'm sorry I can't live for you.... I want to... I want to live to tend to your cares, I want to love you, .... But I can't wait that long... and your not going to be loved by anyone but a worthless little slave of a woman."

she said, bitter towards herself as she carefully cut her wrists and watched the blood start to poor out, before walking herself into the depths of the water, to the point her head was covered, and continued to let herself sink.

Dessa was halfway across the lawn as she saw the glint and spilling blood. She reached the lake as Victoria sank. The girl didn't even think about it. There she was, fully clothed and everything, diving head first into the lake. As she opened her eyes in the freezing water, she had to swat away the silver fish around her.

It took the girl a little bit to spot the mass of woman she was after, and by the time she grabbed the woman's wrist, she was already dying to get to the surface. As she crested the water, she sucked in a huge breath, her eyes burning and feeling like her extremities were just about to fall off. She was determined to get Alexi to the shore.

Victoria's lungs filled with the icy liquid that filled the lake, unbreathing as she was pulled to shore, pulse faint at best as she was limp in Dessa's arms. Skin pastey pale, heart shattered, and determined to take life with it, Victoria was dying, and would be dead in a matter of moments as she'd already lost too much blood to go through much more.

Dessa blinked a few times. She didn't know what to do. Her eyes lifted to the moon and then to the house. Lot was not coming to the rescue this time. Kyle was not around. The woman was gripping the woman's wrists as best as she could, but she relinquished the tourniquet hold, she felt for a pulse. That sixteen year old did the only thing that she knew how. She began to pump on Alexi's chest, breathing into her every now and again. Breathe...

Victoria's pulse faded further even after she started breathing, while on thing was fixed, she could now bring oxygen into her body.... the blood that sustained her as leaving quickly. In a matter of seconds, she'd be lost, at this point, even if the bleeding stopped, she'd still need some sort of miracle or transfusion to live.... And Lot lived happily in the middle of nowhere.

Dessa looked around desperately. She couldn't do anything about it. She was just a teenage human being that killed vampires as a lifestyle. But Lot could.

Okay, so truth be told, there was one thing that could wake up a vampire. Near-death. Say if you managed to sneak up on one and you managed to stab them but missed the heart, that vampire was going to wake up in a rather ticked off state. So, Dessa grimaced as she yanked off her right glove. The girl shut her own eyes as sunlight all but erupted from her palm. See, daywalkers held the ability of withstanding the atmosphere they were exposed to at their turning. What Dessa had was pure, unfiltered sunlight just as it came from the sun itself. Thus why she couldn't lie. She couldn't be a producer of straight sunlight or even moonlight for that manner if she herself were not pure of heart. This pure sunlight held normally filtered rays, rays that could burn even a daywalker.

Lot let out a roar of pain as the girl let out that little flash of light and closed it again. He came out in a flash, his skin reddened and burned. Dessa's words were simple.

"What are you going to do?" Lot looked to Victoria, aghast.

Victoria was unaware as those around her plotted, heart gone. He'd ripped it out and burned it instantaneously. He'd taken from her compassion, and caring, he'd taken from her longing, and desire. He'd left her a broken husk that hated it's self. Victoria had done this, killing her and her child in an attempt to be free of her tormented state. It wasn't fair to her, and she'd decided it wasn't fair to the child. .. the one thing she'd been bent upon keeping and protecting, she'd just put on the line for teh escape of the agony she was beign forced to live with.

Dessa struggled to tug on her glove again, flexing her fingers. Her head was splitting and she was freezing. The woman didn't notice was Lot had decided to do, which was good because she would have probably disapproved greatly.

Lot's reaction was instinct, a dangerous one. He tore open the fleshy outside of his palm with his teeth. And then the man did it, with the stars and a slayer as his witness. He pressed his bleeding hand to Victoria's lips. He was not going to lose another one.

Victoria was unaware what was going on until she felt herself wake, and she realized what she was longing for. Swallowing slowly, her eyes fell upon Lot. Her eyes were sharp, and very dark as she pushed him from her.

" I'm even easier to kill now. Why can't you let me die. "

Victoria stood slowly, legs exceptionally unsure. Normally she'd be happy, but she couldn't be right now, she didn't know what to do about what she was, or what to do with Lot now.

" I love you, and now I'm stuck living eternity in agony."

She said softly, looking off now, ignoring how she felt, heart aching even more as she considered him, not caring about the lack of beating in her chest, just concerned about how she's going to tolerating living like this.

Lot stood up, squeezing his hand as he waited to stop bleeding. The man looked down at his scorched skin and found himself in the deepest frowns.

"I couldn't face failure again." He blinked slowly, just now beginning to process what had happened. Lot was filled with a cacophony of emotion just then, ones that he didn't have on a normal basis. Horror. Fear. Etc. What was he supposed to do now?

"...It would please you to know that I can't hold you now." Lot stepped backward, actually, opening his arm to the side. Yep. NOW he was letting her go.

she said softly, eyes hurting, body aching, mouth sore..

" I'm what you target now, kill me.. Let me free from my hell."

She begged softly, tears starting to fall as her heart shattering a bit more.

Dessa looked up at her. She had been standing there, shivering as she looked at the woman with a certain degree of disgust. Not necessarily with Alexi as with herself. She had been trying to save a human and had ended up with a baby vampire. The woman's eyes slowly drug from the woman to Lot. His head was inclined as though he wouldn't exercise any hand here. The girl glanced back at the woman.

"I silence the ones that by nature are dark. I have yet to see yours." She turned, walking towards that sole tree on shivering legs.

Victoria looked destroyed, looking to her master, the pain he'd caused her clear on her face as she swallowed hard.

" What did I ever do to you... to make you want to hurt me so?"

she asked, swallowing slowly. She was already destroyed mentally, no amount of therapy would solve what he'd done to her, and now she was fighting this .... She wanted to leap upon Dessa when she'd heard the pulse, she'd heard the pulse of animals everywhere, and she didn't know how she was keeping herself under control right now.

It was very strange to see Lot looking so defeated, but he did.

"I was never trying to hurt you." His words were spoken very low, with an earnest tone. This reminded him of something, of another story from which only one character walked away.

Victoria looked down, hand moving to rub at her chest, swallowing hard.

She said softly, looking down to her stomach, relieved as she realized her babe was still safe.

" I don't know how to live... in emotional torment.. .. .. I don't understand why you can't love... I could understand you not being able to love me.. but love, period..."

Lot didn't even look up, at her first comment he gestured towards the woods.

"The animals will run from you, but you will find that most of it comes naturally." At her next statement about torment, the proud man suddenly seemed very small. He gave a long sigh.

"You will probably outgrow it after you get used to being free." He turned, slowly plodding towards the house. His voice was a whisper. This was straight up eerie. Lot was never like this.

"And me? I suppose it doesn't matter since I won't be alive very much longer."

Victoria's sharp gaze moved to him as she slowly snatched his arm, stopping him.

" I am not free. Even if I wanted to leave, I'd not be able to. Don't you at least understand the principle of love? I love you. I won't leave you by choice. The only reason I was trying was because you couldn't return those feelings."

She said softly, looking him over, surprised she even stood a chance of holding him in place, moving to kiss him.

" Unless your throwing me out, I'm not leaving... and your not dying."

It was almost like the roles were reversed. Lot just stood there like a ragdoll, and Victoria could do whatever she pleased. His voice was very quiet, like almost as though he were speaking with breath instead of voice.

"I understand love. I understand happiness. And I understand that I am currently alive." Lot looked up at her now with rather empty eyes. It was like he had given up on something.

"But I also know that none of those will last very many more nights."

Victoria looked him over, pulling him to her, and nestling right up to his chest, moving to kiss him.

" I love you."

She said gently, resting against him lightly.

" I will always be yours. Understand that now."

She informed him softly.
