Hunter and Naomi's Prelude

Naomi considered Hunter and kissed him, fingers lightly running over the tattoo covering his side, smiling to herself.

"Just your touch."

She purred softly. It didn't have to be sexual, it certainly could be. She was being honest though.

Hunter looked at her for a long moment. Then, he pulled up her head.

"Come with me, then. Let's lay you down."

He didn't mean it sexually necessarily either.

Naomi shifted forward, her forehead lightly pressed to his as she kissed his nose, legs slowly coiling about his waist as her arms resumed that loose hold on him.

" Where ever you take me."

If that wasn't an honest statement of ' I seriously believe and trust you if you tell me clouds are made of cotton candy' kind of statement from her, then nothing was.

Hunter took her to her room again, laying her down into that bed. The man shifted, gently pressing to her. The man brushed her hair away from her face, leaning and kissing at her throat. He didn't ask, at least, not with words. He let his teeth skim her throat. She would let him know if there was a problem.

Naomi shifted slightly under him, smiling and her hands ran over his chest, and her eyes closed, her face nestling into his neck. There were no words needed as she placed her hands to his sides now and pressed him down tighter to herself. Such a familiar dance, and new at the same time. New place, new out look, new circumstances.

Hunter shifted and he gently bit her. The man let his hands brush across her skin. He was tender, careful with her even as he fed. He would whisper something charming in her ear later, perhaps. Perhaps, he would just love her.

Noami was fine to be the meal and to be held, to be kissed, and snuggled, caressed. It was not something he gave her often. Of course this very well could simply be because this is not typically what she sought in him. He seemed to follow what she wished, whether it be talk, listen, pleasure, pleaser, ect. Tonight it was compassion, tenderness. She was alright with this, drifting to sleep eventually in his arms, smile upon her lips.

Hunter lay with her. He considered the woman. What was he going to do with her? He hadn't intended for her to end up here when this all began. What if... Her words concerned him a little bit. She seemed to have some tie in all of this. What about her emotions? He just... He knew that he needed to make a decision soon. It seemed that being her lover by night would not continue to be a simple arrangement.

Either way, he let go to a blood death beside her until she would wake.

Naomi woke as the sun rose, looking over Hunter, and something was there as she leaned over and kissed his forehead.

" Your going to leave me alone."

She stated softly. Her tone held an emotion she'd clearly never offered him knowingly, and never shared with him, and it was not given in the form of a question as she moved and sat up, looking down at him.

Slowly Naomi slipped from the bed and off to shower. Alright. The world was now in the dark ages again like fairy tales she was told of a as a very small child.... and now... she merely turned the water colder and started to wash her hair.

Hunter watched her go. He pressed his lips together, sitting there for a while before getting up. The man stood in the reading room, considering the books there. Slowly, he pulled specific ones off the shelf, starting a pile. He was considering the atlases, trying to decide which set it was that he needed. He only had three, but...

Naomi casually dressed. Actually tugging on shoes. This was merely because she had doubted he was keeping her the next night. So she figured that meant she needed to leave. He'd not said anything out loud, but they had known each other long enough, and that vibe he'd given... she was familiar with that 'let's dump her and run' kind of feeling. She was starting to feel like an unwanted kitten.

this wasn't going to matter as the glass in the livingroom was crashed as Christian purposefully made his entrance, he even circled Naomi once, smirking.

" Oh, your not a worthy mate like the others... just a passing whim I'm sure then... well, let your master know he needs to pick sides."

He purred, vanishing from sight..... Naomi was sitting to the couch, rooted in place now. master? Sides? ..... Naomi was battling a personal issue now... passing whim..

The growl in the room was coming from Fang who was poised before Naomi. The wolf was snarling and looked ready to pounce any that came too near.

Hunter cursed. He didn't do it very often. However, this whole situation to do with the dark ages... it was wearing on him. The man moved, his feet crunching on the glass. He gazed at her intently.

"Did he harm you?"

This was part of what was killing him. He hated making decisions, especially life or death ones like Christian was calling for.

Naomi shrugged and then answered softly, forcing herself to brush off everything that was said.

" no. ... easy Fang..."

She was just a human, even she could see they weren't worth much in what was going on right now. Hundreds were dying daily....

" Where are you planning to ship me off to?"

She forced herself to ask, bringing her eyes up. Who's problem was she about to become now?

Hunter glared at his broken wall now that he ascertained that she was okay.

"I would have let you die if I was just intending to send you away."

If that were the case, she'd probably die anyhow.

"Christian is just being a pain. Don't listen to him."

Naomi watched him for a while....

" I ... I know that look..."

she offered gently though, watching him. How many times had she seen it? even growing up?

" You."

She was human. As much as she clearly battled not to have emotions, they were there.

" Don't feel obligated, okay?"

she asked gently. She wasn't anyone's responsibility.

Hunter was quiet. He had learned how to pick his battles. However, this was a tough choice. He turned around and looked Naomi over.

Naomi looked at Hunter, looking over his face, her eyes seeming to take him in like it was the last time she'd see him, then they fell to the floor.

" That same look someone gives to a cat or dog before driving out to the country and dumping them on some poor farmer."

she stated gently, refraining from using the example that struck closer to him. The same look a parent gets when it's tired of being a parent and gets rid of their child... Or the same look an adoptive father gets when he's tired of a 'free loading' eleven year old so decides she's old enough to 'work' and. ... if she fights.....

Naomi definitely seemed far from where she was now. Closests she was rapidly working on closing even as they opened. No, you were lucky to only have a first name. last names hurt.

Hunter paused, and then he moved closer to her. He put his hands on her hips and then bent slightly. The two were pressed closer together, and he spoke softly into her ear.

"I had no intention of getting rid of you. Whatever other decisions I make, I was hoping that this time you would take my offer. I was hoping that this time you would come with me and let me keep you safe."

Naomi nodded slowly now and slowly wrapped her arms about him. Just for a second she'd cling. trust, just for a moment she would have some kind of emotion that needed support. But then she drew back, and kissed him lightly.

" Of course."

simple as that.

Naomi looked at him now, moving at taking tha hands from her and holding them in her's, his palms up, backs of his hands resting on her palms.

" I have no where else to go. No where else I am wanted... or even liked."

She stated gently.

Hunter turned his hands over, gripping hers.

"Then stay here, because here you are both."

He squeezed them ever so lightly.

"Well, perhaps not right here. There is a lot of glass in this specific spot."

Naomi smiled and moved to Fang, hugging him now and nuzzling him.

" I like you."

she informed him, moving and biting his ear lightly, in one of those almost affectionate ways. Yeah, she could work with things. Which is why she also scratched his ears as she headed to the bathroom to strip, so many shards in her clothing.

Fang moved with her. He chewed on her foot lightly, not even as hard as he would to Hunter. The wolf licked her leg... and then he jogged off out of the door to do whatever it was that he did.

Hunter cleaned up the wall, covering it up with a tarp and duct tape. By the time that she was done, the glass would be tossed and Hunter would have taken the few books and slipped into his lounge.

Naomi looked about, and sighed, moving to the couch, just sitting there and listening to the rain that started back up, merely holding her robe about her.

This time, Hunter met her in a rush. His arm snaked around her and he pulled her up.

"You are handling this rather well. Not so much as single question..."

He breathed this softly, but his eyes rested on the tarp. He seemed distracted by something.

Naomi looked to him, smiling slightly, snuggling up to his chest and tracing over the tattoos she knew to be under there.

" What is there to ask? why is this happening? Rather pointless, it's already taking place. Why me? stupid self centeredness that doesn't matter. When will it be over? long after I die, I am sure.... when will you leave?.. Before I am ready... All things I can answer on my own.."

she replied, looking up to him.

Hunter held her a little closer.

"Alright, since you have that all bundled up, would you do me a favor?"

The man gave her a pointed look and a small nod, touching his lips.

"I need some a box of trash bags for all this mess. They are in the store room in the back hallway."

What mess?

She was currently wondering though whether or not he actually wanted the trash bags... or if there were even going to be any. Either way, wondering off to the store room.

Oh, there were trashbags alright. He had everything from the little dainty things that go in bathroom cans to the giant industrial sized ones that you could stand up inside of. Apparently Hunter had to deal with a lot of messes.

The whole ordeal was rather quiet. Anything that was said was said mentally, so all that would be heard some slamming. Well, in one instance there was the sound of something shattering... and one time there was the sound of the tarp ripping. That was it, though. Silence. He would go find Naomi momentarily.

You know what? Naomi had decided that she was staying in the storage room. Why? cause she had discovered he also had a fiberglass handled broom. That would do some nice damage on anyone's head, human, vampire, or otherwise.... Not that she'd picked it up, her resources just seemed better in here.

Hunter eventually opened the door. Well, if she tried to whack him, he wasn't going to let it make contact with anything but his forearm, just for the record. He looked okay. He had torn a knee out of his pants, and he was a little bloody but that seemed to be it. Complete inspection would reveal one set of bite marks on his upper arm, two bruises (one on his leg and one on his other forearm) and a small cut on his back. The blood wasn't his.

"I'm going to need that broom."

Naomi looked over Hunter, moving and checking him over in an instant before absently handing him the broom and poking her head out, and then into the livingroom.

" You need more the just the broom."

Well, there weren't bodies, at least. They were old enough to make that easier. The sleet had changed to snow. Hunter was brushing the mess outside.

"I'm going to go purchase new panes for my wall. Would you like to come with?"

Naomi stated absently with a small smile, pretending to ponder this as she was already cleaning up the mess with rag and cleaner.

"They probably wouldn't eat you, if that makes any difference in your decision. You are still associated with me."

Hunter was tossing stuff in the trash now. His furniture was fine. It was mostly just random things like a lamp that got broken.

"They'd likely either ignore you or kill you."

She stated absently, moving and jumping on him now. Why? Because it was either jump on him, or get hit in the head with whatever the hell, whoever the hell was wielding. Miss on, or just late in coming?

Hunter's right arm curled around behind him, catching and holding her to his back. With his other hand, however, he turned and grabbed the man's own fist. Hunter turned the stranger's hand, not so much flinching as he was impaled by his own weapon, falling to dust.

"Are you okay?"

He released her, glancing over her.

"I'm sorry you had to see that."

she stated, seeming to be double checking he was alright. Yep, he was all there. She was okay.

With that, she moved and returned to cleaning.
