I Didn't Think It Would Happen Like This

He answered simply, watching her.

He asked, concerned for her.

Willow gathered her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs. It only lasted a moment before the cold air let in by the posture had her stretching her legs back out again.

/Nothing. I just made the wrong choice again, like I always do./

Choosing to engage in this at all had felt like a tipping point, and she regretted flinging herself off that cliff.

/I'm sorry. I never should have even said anything, nonetheless done any of it. I knew better than to behave like that./

That feeling was held firmly in place by a reel replaying in the back of her head. At the foreground was mostly every time sex had ever gone wrong or led to fallout, and the background was peppered with moments where being in public in general had led to problems or reprimands.

/But... But it's not a total loss. I didn't realize you would feel like you had to do things you didn't want for my sake. Now that I do, I can remind myself of that in the future and maybe not put you in a bad position again./

Ansel arched an eyebrow.

Willow pressed her knees tightly together, but instead of it being an action designed to supress her need, this time it was suppressing a powerful urge to dig talons into her thighs and rend the flesh.

/Maybe not nonconsensual, but it would have been pressured or coerced or whatever./

Because she was terrible. Sex was the enemy. She was just supposed to be his as he specified and nothing else. An ugly, defiled thing like her should be satisfied to be given anything at all. Why couldn't she stop? Why did she keep letting her disgusting urges make her open her stupid mouth? Didn't she want to be loved? Didn't she want a family?

Ansel reached out and laced his fingers with hers.

"Listen to me. Sex? It's not gonna change if you've got a family or if I love you. I spoke with her. I cleared the air about my concerns with her without furthering your unease. I'm content no matter the outcome.

Willow, it's good to express yourself. It's twice as good to show and explore what you want for yourself in this relationship. You said you were alright with me telling you I had changed my mind, that was wonderful for me. I wasn't obligated or locked in. Anything that took place was to be consenting, hopefully satisfied, adults. "

When the first few tears broke free, her stance on the comfort changed. She wished he'd hold her now.

That was really hard for her to even kind of take in. Even if she was trying to believe him, the fact was that Willow's relationship with physical intimacy had become seriously warped by everything that had happened along the way. It wasn't something that could be fixed by a single moment of reassurance, no matter how good it was.

/But... I should have noticed you weren't excited about it from the start./

Weirdly, she had convinced herself that she had been ignoring signals and pushed him into it.

/ Um, except I totally was? I didn't start doubting until she started giving a stand-off vibe? /

He pointed out, shrugging.

/ Even that was really fixed with a small conversation. /

He reached for her as he felt her want change, snuggling her flush to his chest with kisses to the top of her head.

/ I will follow your comfort. But understand that I'm going to communicate if something isn't for me. Kay? /

/I thought she was just playing. I should have noticed. I'm sorry./

Crying snuggles did help start to quiet all the bad in her head, though.

Ansel shook his head.

/I couldn't tell. You can't know what you don't know, Willow. It's perfectly fine. I just asked, it was easiest for me. /

He placed a kiss at her temple.

"Everyone is different. Going down this road will be learning every time. It's part of the fun of the adventure. "

[Sushi]

Willow buried her face into his shirt, too scared and off-balance right now to be reasonable. Right now, her whole being was focused entirely on trying to find safety again.

/Then I won't do it again. The stakes are too high. I've got you. I don't need to know what it would be like with anybody else./

[Tree]

/ Willow, listen to me on this. No matter who else you try? You've always got me. /

[Sushi]

That was right, wasn't it? Now things were different. He could change his mind and punish her, but he couldn't throw her away anymore. She was his.

/I love you,/ she reminded him hesitantly.

Willow snuggled up with him, feeling around inside herself and sort of mentally petting their bond. Each reverent stroke soothed her.

Ansel smiled and gingerly tugged her into him, letting her be wrapped in his love and acceptance. He wanted to covey his sincerity and hopefully sooth her.

[Sushi]

Willow was soon resting in his arms with a faint, cuddly smile.

/Thank you./

Ansel nodded, kissing her head.

/ Of course..... may I carry you inside? /

He was purely worried about what he distant thunder ment.

[Sushi]

Willow nodded.

/I'm cold./

[Tree]

Ansel carried her inside and snuggled her.

/ Here. Let's tuck you in.. I'm gonna go check on the gal and be right back. /

"Hey, so..."

He glanced to his phone, shaking his head.

"I'm guessing that the storm knocked the cell tower out. You're welcome to crash on the couch? I can get you stuff? "

He meant blankets and pillows and stuff.

"that's very generous of the two of you."

She nodded in acceptance.

"Would you guys like to play cards or something?"

[Tree]

"I'm not sure if she did. I'll ask her. Did you want something more comfortable to sleep in?"

He managed to not sound skeevy at least?

[Sushi]

She laughed good naturedly.

"I have peculiar sizing. I'm sure I can make do."

[Tree]

Ansel let his eyes run over her.

"If you say so. ... did you find everything you needed in the kitchen? "

/ Wanna play cards with the gal?/

[Sushi]

/... Okay / Willow decided.

She felt a little guilty for how the chicks evening had gone, so that seemed like at least a small consultation she could offer.

/But only if you're playing too. I'm sure I won't know how./

Ansel chuckled to himself..

"She said yes. Give me a few moments. "

He would go be sure his wife was sure before he returned with her and cards.

[Sushi]

The lady raised a brow.

"So we're not pretending you aren't a vampire anymore?"

She glanced at Willow.

"I still can't decide if you are too or not."

[Tree]

Ansel grinned at her a bit.

"You never asked, milady. "

He pointed out, looking to Willow curiously.

"It's for her to share, not I. "

[Sushi]

"I most certainly did. I just asked politely and in a way that wouldn't open me up so you could try to put me in a sanitarium if you were in the closet... Or a human."

[Tree]

Ansel started to chuckle now as he settled onto the couch.

"Of all the creatures to associate me with, the ones in those stories are highly inaccurate to say the least. Plus, people hear Transylvania and well.... let's say that sort of commenting flies under the radar. How about yourself?"

He asked, fully aware there was no way this lady was human.

[Sushi]

"I also politely answered that question already. I'm a type of fae."

She shrugged absently and shuffled the cards.

Ansel smiled to himself, not pushing that one as he glanced to Willow.

/ Are there card games you know? /

He asked her softly.

[Sushi]

Willow shrugged.

/Bullshit. Poker./

Ansel barely refrained from the challenge of strip poker and made a small gesture as he inquired the games the lass knew. Then, eventually....

"I can coat you in sugar all evening long, or you could give a person something to call you by? "

Ansel inquired.

[Sushi]

"out of those options, I think I'd prefer the former," she answered with a wink at Willow.

[Tree]

Ansel smirked as he cast a look to the woman.

"As you wish. "

He answered with all the sweetness he had ever bestowed upon a fair maiden.

[Sushi]

She grinned with approval as she picked up her cards.

"You got yourself a proper charmer, didn't ya?"

Willow glanced at Ansel for a second.

"A real prince."

The woman nodded in agreement.

"Sugar was definitely the way to go. You, however, can call me Taylor."

[Tree]

Ansel watched his wife, unable to help how he stared at her in earnest affection.

"A worthless title without you, m'dear."

It wasn't just sweet charm but love and sincerity as his eyes turned to back to the table, casually picking up his cards.

[Sushi]

Willow's smile changed from a little amusement at her own wordplay to a bigger, flattered one.

"You two are adorable!" Taylor half-squealed as she looked between them.

[Tree]

Ansel shrugged at Taylor.

"She's the adorable one, miss. I fear I'm naught but a hopeless playboy without her influence. "

He winked at Willow with the tiny little joke, delighted to feel at ease.

[Sushi]

Smiling, Willow took one of the Oreos from her stack and placed it in the center of the table.

"Good thing you have me then?"



"Well, you're adorable as a couple, then. How long have you been together?"

[Tree]

Ansel thought it through, shrugging a tiny bit.

"I suppose it depends on when you count the start. About 6 years, though. "

He posed with a smile at her little oreo chips.

[Sushi]

Willow pouted a little.

"Seven."

"Ooo, a lucky year then, if you go by her count."
