The Dollar Decides How Far You Go

Monica smirked and wiggled, laughing slightly, moving to finish tying his shoe for him, she kind of liked the extra affections that came with a consistent partner. She wanted to keep him





However, she figured she'd enjoy him while he'd stay, and deal with it when he wouldn't. ( She could force him, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.)

[Sushi]

Kalan shifted his head, looking up at the sky now. The man seemed rather distracted, and for once not by Monica or Adelle.



There was a little part in the clouds so that a ray of sunshine could illuminate Adelle. She could see herself better in the mirror that way.

[Tree]

" Kalan?"



Now Monica looked rather put out. he never ignored her. what gave?

[Sushi]

Kalan did not respond immediately. (Big surprise there.) However, when he did, it was not with words at all. The man seemed to explode. It was one of those things that you really couldn't prepare yourself for no matter how many times you saw it.



The man was suddenly no longer a man, but the flames gave birth to a giant bird. His proud body crimson with gold along the edges, his wings tapering into flames. His beak was strong and broad, though through all the flames his eyes remained that chilling blue. Perhaps the majesty was lost, however, as for the second time today, Kalan took Monica up into his talons. His wings beat powerfully as he gathered the woman against his body. How was one to explain the way that acid fell from the sky, tearing through even buildings? Humans.

Monica didn't protest, mainly because she saw why, and she shifted so as to be properly carried, not like some random food, looking in slight horror at the sight bellow.



" How on earth do they do this to their own kind?"

[Sushi]

Kalan did not answer, not that there really was an answer. People had been asking themselves this question since the dawn of time, and no one had ever been able to figure it out.



The man crossed the town entirely, noticing the storm clouds that covered half of it. Judging by the little hole in one letting through the sunlight... the storm was not Adelle's doing, even if it had yet to break. Perhaps that would be enough to stop the planes?



The phoenix dropped Monica lightly onto the awning beside her sister.

Monica looked to her sister, enjoying a reflection in the mirror, looking at Kalan as he was once more human-like appearance, laying down, staring off back at her sister.



" What is wrong?"



Yep, apparently something had to be wrong if looking at yourself for that long.

[Sushi]

"I look like something someone pulled out of their belly button." The younger girl mourned, poking at her face. No wonder no one liked her if she looked like that.

[Tree]

Monica sighed, shaking her head slowly.



" Nonsense. Your very pretty. "



Honestly, she felt her sister was, what had gotten into her all of a sudden?

[Sushi]

The woman tried to put her hair down a little.



"Not anymore. I didn't even DO anything this time." The girl looked down at her wet and torn dress.

[Tree]

Monica sighed, shaking her head and rolling over onto her side, reaching over and helping her sister with her hair without thought, reaching to Kalan's pocket for that ruby hair barrette that she'd 'acquired', pinning it back nicely.



" You are too. Rags can't even hide how pretty you are."

[Sushi]

"But people don't notice me unless they want to insult me. I am NOT fat." Adelle pouted, examining her waist.



"And EVERYONE likes you." ...Let's not point out how loaded the dice were there.

[Tree]

Monica stared at her sister and reached over, placing one hand on her sister's waist, then the other on the other side, thumbs and middle fingers touching, making a perfect circle about her entire waist.



" I do not see, how, on the face of this planet or any other you are fat."

[Sushi]

Adelle swatted her sister's hands away.



"They still like you though. Not me." She was thoroughly sulking. Nothing was ever good for her. Pout, pout, pout.

[Tree]

" It's sort of the nature of me.... What brought this about?"

[Sushi]

Adelle just shook her head, sliding down off the awning. The woman turned around and walked into the clothing store. Sure, the wares were a little damp, but so were the ones on her body. These looked nicer anyhow. Time for some retail therapy... minus the price tag.

[Tree]

" I swear she just needs to find a man.... or a woman, for that matter. Whatever gets her off at this point."



Woah. sisterly love??? O.o

[Sushi]

Kalan was reclined casually on the overhang.



"Why doesn't she?"

[Tree]

Monica growled.



" she did at one point. it was a thursday, the second best day of my life."

[Sushi]

"What happened to him... er... her?" Kalan didn't know which to pick. Ooo, thought.



"What was the best day?"

[Tree]

" Last week in the rain outside.... "



she replied with a small smile, looking him over a moment.



" It ties with the day my sister was born."



" ..................As to her .... She was killed in a train accident."

[Sushi]

Kalan shrugged slightly. The man didn't think anything of any of this. Actually, if one were to ask him what his sexual orientation was, he would say that he was officially bi, even if he only acted on straight urges. Why? Well, at other points in his incarnation cycle, he had liked the same sex as he was now. However, it had always been straight to act on those urges at the time.



Adelle was turning around, looking at the dress she had picked out. As she ran her fingers along the mid-thigh hemline, she was trying to decide if she actually liked it or not.

Monica moved, slowly crawling over to Kalan, eyeing him curiously all of a sudden.



" if you get an STD, does it carry on into the next form of you when you die?"



Yep.

[Sushi]

"No." Kalan answered casually. The man wasn't bothered at all by questions like this.



"Neither does cancer, immunizations, or tendency."

[Tree]

Monica frowned now.



" Obviously you have memory of the past then.. which brings me to my next question..."



Yep, nosey little girl. sometimes things that don't die from natural causes become slightly bored with life without being nosey though >.>



" Since the likelihood of all past interests being dead, or dying by the time your old enough to communicate whom you are....."



she ventured slowly, eyeing him curiously.



" What can i expect from a young version of you since I still will be around?"

[Sushi]

"I guess that depends on if you intend to stalk me."

[Tree]

" Well, I do not know when and where you will end up being when that happens. it's easily believable you'll be with us, if we continue on our course.... Which leads me to believe you'll have a likelihood greater then I'd like to admit of being a tag along with us, even in younger form.... So?"



Why couldn't she just ask him if he intended to make her hunt down someone else? Likely because the woman was in a very...odd, mindset and might beg at this precise second >.<

[Sushi]

"...Half the things that children do, they do from literal inability. I am very weak, very uncoordinated, and unable to speak when reborn." Kalan was giving her an odd look. The man felt like she was fishing, but he couldn't tell what for.

[Tree]

" naturally. But the memories would be in place. That's not what I was asking... I was asking once you could speak... once you were old enough.... What would you do?"



that's as close as she'd get. She wasn't phased by the idea of dealing with a young child/baby version of him whether male or female version.

[Sushi]

There was a long break before Kalan said anything. He really didn't know what she was getting at. He eventually gave her a playful nudge.



"That depends on if you're a mean old bat by then."

[Tree]

Monica nearly slid off the roof at this and managed to pull herself back up and pounced him, kissing him rather ...well, furiously >.>



" I do not think those are worries you must deal with."

[Sushi]

Kalan dug in his heels so that he could not be jarred from his place as she pounced him.



"What should I be worried about?"

[Tree]

" Whether or not I'd rape a teenage that doesn't know how to use everything even though he/she remembers it distantly."



Yep, she'd just unknowningly given into the option of him being a she at some point. Apparently she was addicted >.<

[Sushi]

Kalan snorted, rolling over now.



"It's not so distant. You'd not get the opportunity to ambush the unknowing." Didn't she ever wonder exactly how he was so good, how he knew exactly what women liked?

[Tree]

Monica was unable to help her smirk.



" Well, I believe it."



she purred, hands enjoying him.



" After all...."



she purred, letting that sentence trail off, smirk growing.



" yeah, I am totally keeping you."

[Sushi]

Kalan shrugged, watching her fingers glide across his pecks.



"Until you get bored, I'm sure." He seriously doubted she would chase him down after he died, but he wasn't that concerned. If she wanted to fantasize... It was her dime.

[Tree]

" I doubt I will. You change people every hundred years or so. "



Yep, that was a nice musing for her at the moment as she thought, mouth and fingers both absently landing on him now and again.

[Sushi]

Kalan did not respond. Big surprise.



Adelle walked out of the shop in her new dress.

[Tree]

" Kalan.... Would you grow bored?"



Wow. She was considering how someone else might feel?!?!!? Kalan... what did you drug her with? XD

[Sushi]

Kalan was in the middle of playing with the snaps on the front of her shirt. He glanced up.



"Monogamy?"
