" well, I don't mean to think of him a as a pet.... but I mean, i notice when the shower is running longer then it should when you guys shower, let alone if one of you vanishes.. I'd like to think it's noticeable after a day or so...."

alyson sighed, dropping it as the man didn't seem to understand, moving to Cael, kissing his neck.

Cael shrugged slightly, offering her a cup of coffee.

"It would be far more awkward though, to explain to the police who had opened a formal investigation on his disappearance that Mason had a new girlfriend."

Alyson replied curiously, looking taken back.. he'd not mentioned anything about that... but she supposed it was highly possible... she was the hired help...... she tried not to let these thoughts play too much as she looked over Cael... she was his hired help too,... she didn't see it that way with either man, so if they both got girlfriends, ... well, the help wouldn't take kindly.

Alyson looked over Cael, wanting to ask another question, sighing.

she apologized, looking out the window, thinkng about the paper he probably needed to get back to writing. that left her with little to do. That wasn't cool.

Cael just shrugged, staring out the window. It was when he saw a neighbor walk out in her robe to put something in the mailbox that he jumped out of the chair for no apparent reason.

"Crap!" And he ran back to his room.

Remember the giant box that she had asked him to put off? Cael was now sitting on the edge of his unmade mattress, stuffing the rest of the stuff into it.

"I forgot! And that mail comes in five minutes!" Stuff. Shove. Ruffle. Cram. Now where was the packing tape?

Cael then encountered another problem. Even being as muscular as he was... this thing was too heavy for him to lift on his own.

Cael pushed the thing out and set it beside the mailbox. He had just placed the box there and ducked around the side of the house when the mail dude was turning around.

alyson watched the mail man turn away, and tossed the phone number to the ground as he left, wondering over to Cael, watching him a moment.

" Now your hot and sweaty."

Cael was trying to catch his breath but was thwarted for laughing. The man looked up at her.

"I feel like we should have just robbed a jewelry store or something!"

"They aren't just papers. That is my life's work. My doctoral thesis and legacy to any that may follow!"

Yep, that's all she could think to say. why? Cause the mail was notorious for loosing things.

Alyson didn't know a word to say to this, suddenly feeling like a moron. Of course they did,l just cause there was no garage and she didn't see another car didn't mean there wasn't a second one.

Cael just stood there, feeling very awkward. This silence was horrible. he cleared his throat.

"Uh... were you wanting to go somewhere?" He reached into the junk drawer and pulled out a set of keys.
