What's Wrong With....? -Suri & Vynz's Origins

The problem being a 21st century vampire? Sure, there were numerous jobs open, and naturally there was the ability to charm the next Jane or John Doe into thinking you were there friend, and leave them for easy disposal in a million different places without repercussions.

So what was VynzÂ’s major complaint? The dang cult following of Twilight Nazis. It was if his race were a much sought after race of pleasure by humans now. It was ridiculous to see all the girls and guys with fake fangs, weird contacts, among other things. It took away from the impact of the real thing.

Once more, why complain? Well, he had been around for centuries, and he remembered the way it was before that weird Meyers lady, not to mention whatÂ’s her face, Bowlings? Who cares, between the two of them, all the mystery and magic of his race had been dispelled. ( Tolkien hadnÂ’t helped either, but he really didnÂ’t hurt, either.)

So, here was Vynz watching the dancers upon the stage, or more precisely the newbie on stage. She just didnÂ’t seem humanÂ… then again, she could be one of those Twilight Cult NazisÂ…. Or TCNs as he tended to call themÂ….

Sighing, he merely slid the glass down the bar as he continued to keep a close eye on the odd newcomer.

Suri smiled as she slid about the pole with her silky smooth little dress, spinning about with ease. It was a sincere respectable club, dancing yes, clothes? Definitely. They girls would get thrown out without such. It was merely entertainment for the gentlemen.

Suri smiled as she watched an over drunken patron be removed from her little dancing disc, humming along as she tried to forget why she moved here.

I only think in the form of crunching numbers.

Spin, climb, loosing to the rhythm of her dance.

AinÂ’t gotta care in the world.

Slip, backbend, crawl and climb.

Your some kind of freak, arenÂ’t you?

As the song came to an end, Suri blocked all the rest from her mind as she made her way backstage and up towards her studio apartment upstairs.

((ROFLMAO!! TREE!! You just live to screw with me. XD))

Vynz was currently waiting for a woman to speak. Even better, it was one of those annoying socialite wannabe's that spent ten minutes talking while throwing a single word at the bartender like he was a useless bystander. He frowned internally and then went on to prove that he didn't care for the situation.

"Listen, Lady. If you want someone to talk to, you are going to have to go kidnap someone. I really don't care about your pet poodle, and I don't think that anyone else does either. Order something and leave." Notice that was 'and', not 'or'. The bottle blonde looked far taken aback but then stammered out a response.

"A Short Trip To Hell." I'm already there. He pulled out the schnapps bottles and other whatnot, pouring the drink with offhanded flourish. Half an hour left before dawn and the official closing time of the bar...

As the bar was emptied of all occupants, Suri stretched slowly was she wondered to the bar, just to get a soda with extra cherries in it, before heading back up to her apartment, after all, a bar, right downstairs, where you can get drinks for free? Why not?

" I wanna pepsi with lots of cherries, please."

She purred, covering a small yawn as she leaned on the bar, watching the bouncers leave, not to mention security, and the manager.

Vynz glanced up from where he had been polishing the wood of his bar. Well... it was kind of his bar. He and his sister shared it, though he tended more to the hands-on downstairs. Evynna was more the hands-off business stuff. In fact, this girl had probably run the renting through Evynna.

"Alright, new girl." The man pulled up a glass and tossed in some ice and a lot of cherries - even down to the one he stuck on the end of her straw. Barkeep habits die hard. He went back to polishing the bar.

"Night went well?"

Suri smiled and nodded, slurping on her soda a moment, thinking about taking her drink upstairs, but then there was that habit of dragging the glass, all the way back downstairs to get washed, and... Ugh. Sigh, she merely decided to set down, glancing to the all but blacked out and boarded windows. Even the owner seemed to hate sunlight. One thing she wasn't sure of, about most people here, was there complete distaste for sunlight.

Vynz didn't look up at all. He was washing dishes instead.

"Where you from, new girl?"

Suri hesitated before glancing back down to her drink.

" I moved back to England after being in Japan for three years."

She replied simply as she continued at her soda, eyeing Vynz. Something about him was throwing her off in a way only a few other people here did, and it wasn't making her comfortable.

Vynz did look up at her now, but only for a minute. Three years... This was a cursory glance to appraise how old she was.

"Alright. Fair enough." He gestured to the glass she was drinking out of.

"That'll be three bucks plus gratuity." But then he flashed her a joking grin and dried off the next glass. Test two?

Suri grinned, shaking her head and looking over as another dancer, drunk, with obvious hickies, stumbled out the side door. Cringing, Suri looked to her glass. There was a reason she was the type of dancer she was. she didn't want to be that kind of girl...

Vynz squatted down out of sight as he began to put the glasses back to where they belonged.

"I wouldn't suggest following her." Clank. Clank.

"Do you know the area, new girl?" Oh the layers of meaning.

" Suri. "

She corrected absently, now happily eating her cherries in the bottom of her icy, empty glass.

" Sort of. I've only been here a week."

She replied honestly, sucking on a cherry at the moment, trying to get all the sherry-sodaness off of it.

Vynz stood up now.

"Sergio's on 42nd street has fantastic cherry pie. And apple. And bread pudding in the winter. Bet you didn't know that." He began picking up the bottles of alcohol and pulled out his keyring, carrying them all back into the refrigerated storage room.

Suri nodded, smiling slightly, watching him leave and muttering a minor rambling under her breath, flicking her wrist slightly. Yep, glass was full again, and she was slurping her soda once more. Sure, she could have gone behind teh counter, and used the fountain... but that was so much work.

Vynz came back and locked up the last of the cabinets, turning to take the... full glass? He paused and looked up at her, raising a brow.

"Don't let the boss catch you behind the counter." He walked out from behind the bar and tossed his stuff into his locker.

" He won't."

Suri replied honestly, deciding she'd waste the time lugging the darn thing back downstairs later, wondering up to her little apartment upstairs once more.

Vynz laughed lightly to himself.

"Met your new hire today." He tossed the pen at Evynna's head as she walked in. She waved her clipboard at him.

"Kind of figured you would. Now get out." Vynz rolled his eyes, but left anyhow.

Suri yawned, sleeping the morning away with ease, soon up around dusk, stretching slowly. If she remembered right, she was off tonight. Nice.

Vynz wasn't. Well, he probably could be if it wanted to be, but... It was his bar after all. He was in the middle of building a pyramid of shot glasses which he would at a later point fill with vodka and light on fire. Fun times.

Suri wondered downstairs with her sweet, medium dark tanned body, bouncing slightly in her little dress. She'd had success with a nice little new project this morning, so was in a brilliant mood as she set down to watch one of the other dancers for a little bit. Man, she sucked........ Of course, that was her personal opinion, but still...

Vynz was trailing the vodka all the way down his bar. The great thing about this was that it didn't hurt the wood but it still looked really cool. He flashed a grin at the half-drunk cheers he was getting. All for show, of course. And then he dropped the match. WOOSH! Blue flames all the way down the bar and into the pyramid of shot glasses, which he was of course sliding to anyone who happened to be standing nearby...

Smirking, she watched the flames dance about, shaking her head slowly as she wondered to the grill on the otherwise of the bar, ordering some fried green beans, and wondering about to acquire a new glass of pepsi... loaded with cherries.

Vynz was picking up bills left and right at the minute, including an extra twenty shoved in his shirt pocket by a very drunk brunette. Note to self: cut off. After a minute he glanced up at Suri. He didn't do anything until she paused. Only then did he toss a glass up on the counter.

"New girl's day off. Should cherry syrup?" He was twirling a bottle of cherry schnapps.

Suri shook her head slowly.

" Last time I had alcohol, I accidentally burned down an entire strip mall."

She warned simply, smiling ever so slightly. She had. She'd also been 25 years younger, and easier to influence, but still.

Vynz just shook his head with a laugh and tossed the bottle back under before sliding her the glass. Then it was back to his other customers. This was his job, after all.

Smiling, she took the glass and slurped on her soda, wondering off to get her food, setting down to eat, contemplating some late night shopping.

"Alright, you got it, dude?" Vynz watched skeptically as the guy standing beside him dropped the bottle and it shattered all over the floor.

"I'll take that as a no. I thought you said you had done this before." He grumbled and tossed a broom at the guy, who was stammering out a response.

"I did. But there weren't so many..." Vynz tuned out and rolled his eyes. See, this was his weakness. He really didn't like idiots. His sister hated when he did this to the new hires, but...

"Clean that up and get your stuff and head out." Vynz sighed and tossed the ex-new hire about fifty bucks. Someone was going to pull a double tonight.

After a bit, Suri wondered back over, leaning over ( While Vynz was distracted) grabbing some cherries and tossing more in her cup before finding herself a nice little stool. Perhaps she should go shopping, once she ran out of cherries.

Vynz didn't notice at first. However, when he reached to grab his jar of cherries and found it empty... He sighed and told the patron to wait. He returned with two jars, opening one and setting one in front of her.

"You're going to have to explain to Mike why he needs to order twice the normal number of cherries this weekend."

Suri smiled, shaking her head slightly as she started to munch upon the jar of cherries, which never seemed to empty as the night progressed. She, however, looked rather content as her tongue was now bright red, and she was being hit on... to which she 'happened' to flash a little 'wedding' band and showed the men away. One, onlookers with intelligence would have known it was no normal ring, nor was it a wedding or engagement ring of any sorts. However, men were typically dumb.

Funny thing about dumbness in Vynz. He was actually somewhat intelligent. Don't get me wrong, he had absolute moronic moments, but he was on the whole a man of proficent brains. The smart part? He noticed. The stupid part? His response was to stare intensely at her for a good forty-five seconds. However, he did turn away. He had to wash dishes. But he felt strangely vindicated regarding the new girl. She was an oddball.

Catching Vynz's attention upon her ring, it casually disappeared as she returned to her cherries, not caring what he thought at the moment, because, at the moment, he couldn't prove a single thing.

growing tired of her cherry munching after a few hours, she moved to get a drink, the stretched and wondered off to explore the place. Permission or not.

It was about one the morning when even Vynz was startled by what happened. The fire alarm went off. Understand, this was not a normal household fire alarm. This was the industrial, make you go deaf for a week, obnoxious siren. Why? Well, something had to wake up the fall-down drunks in case of a fire. However, this was not going to be good. Vynz immediately began to almost literally shove people out the door, along with the bouncers and any other male employees that weren't afraid of being crushed. Great, even though there wasn't a fire (as was the case) the bar was going to have to close for the rest of the night so that the firemen could inspect it - just in case. Which also meant that it was going to be only a matter of time before his sister showed up.

Looking about, in the basement, staring at the cobwebs, Suri openly jumped as she heard the alarm go off, sniffing around, shaking her head, continuing to snoop. Nope, no fire, let's keep looking :D

Vynz sighed slightly as he was standing around at the alley entrance to the bar. He and Evynna were side-by-side, trying to convince the head fireman that yes, in fact the barkeep could be the owner. It wasn't until he procured ID that he was allowed in as well. They walked around the bar and Evynna frowned deeply.

"This is going to kill our profits for the night. One to three are our rush hours." Vynz rolled his eyes and pressed his hand to her shoulder.

"Vy, calm down. It's okay." Evynna sighed.

"It's just..."

"One night is not going to bankrupt us." That would have to be one hell of a night. Hey, that would be a good name for a drink... 'Hell of a night'... Either way, Evynna sulked off, hovering over the shoulders of the firemen. Vynz scuttled along, just entirely by coincidence going down to the basement to check. Surprise!

"The fire alarms went off, new girl." Duh?

Suri jumped, then smiled, she'd known he'd come down, but not that he'd find her so easily. She should have suspected.

" I know."

What a reply. With a small little face, she decided she couldn't snoop any longer with him down here, that being said, she sighed and looked to him.

" That mean you'd like me to go outside?"

Vynz stood there for a minute, though smart enough not to stare. He was instead looking around the basement. Someone really needed to clean the thing. He shrugged.

"I don't care. Vy might, but I don't." He walked over and dusted the top of the box off. Wine. Surprise surprise.

Vynz paused for a minute before following her. He didn't really know why, but he was mildly entertained. Did Evynna know? He glanced at her and then was quite bold.

"Sometime you should show me how you do that trick with the cherry jar."

" As soon as you teach me your little trick for eternal life."

Ding. With that, she glanced to both sides before waiving and heading off down the streets. She'd decided to do that shopping now.
