"Well yeah, but I mean when you're all..." He was gesturing at his head. And then Mason couldn't think of any other way to explain it. He shook his head so that his hair flew about.

Alyson stared at him, and tried not to laugh.



" Practice. "



she could only answer that way, as if she remembered right she started dancing without pulling her hair back, and worked her way to that.

Mason wrinkled his nose as though very displeased with the idea. However, then he winced, as wrinkling it hurt. Then, the man put the peas back on and wandered off to turn the tv on.

alyson sighed and got dinner in the oven, wondering where Cael had gotten to, sighing inwardly as she made his bed, then went to her room and cleaned things up, taking a brief nap while the food was in the oven.

It was probably two hours or so later when Cael's voice could be heard through the house.



"Who is trying to dry out a pot roast?" He pulled the thing out and set it on the top of the stove. The entire floor near the kitchen table was littered with various bags.

Alyson jumped, to find her alarm clock stolen, growling slightly.



" MASON!"



She hollered back, wondering into the kitchen. Sure, they were friends, but no alarm clock meant not waking up....



" He stole my clock, so i didn't wake..... Oh, it's not as bad as I was afraid it would be."



Alyson added, looking the dish over, judging it'd be fine with a bit more water and a few more minutes in the stove.

Mason hobbled out.



"Hey! I didn't take your clock. Don't blame me!"



Cael turned around... and then cracked up into a fit of laughter.

alyson glanced back at mason, then to cael, and sighed as she went about working on food, then looked back to the two as Cael stopped laughing.



" Where did it go then, if you didn't take it?"

Mason spoke to her, though he was glaring at Cael.



"I don't know. Maybe you knocked it off or something. It is possible that things get lost without my help." Cael smirked. He couldn't pass it up.



"Losing your charm? Get caught lifting something?"



"Yo mama."

Alyson stared at the two a moment, groaning slightly, helping Mason into a seat, placing a kiss on his forehead, then one upon cael's as she guided him into his chair ( on the other end of the table, not facing mason) and served them both dinner without another thought. Men.

Mason finally couldn't help himself.



"Alyson, how do you know how to cook?"

Alyson stopped, looking Mason over.





" what, considering the way I was raised? ... I was sent to a finishing school before I had a 'coming out' party. I excelled in my classes well, I took home ec 1, 2, and the other optional advanced courses... i could make five star restaurant dishes if i felt like it... I just don't like making them as much as homey style ones."



It wasn't offense she took his question with, more like she was now on the defensive... these questions always ended badly for her.

Mason didn't pick up on her defensiveness. He ate a few more bites before speaking again.



"Do you think you could teach me to make pancakes?"

Alyson looked at him a moment, thinking over the last time she saw him in the kitchen, wincing.



" I could try, but eggo does a erally good job helping with those..."

"EGGO MAKES PANCAKES?!"



Cael just sighed, getting up to put his dish in the sink.

alyson nodded, looking to cael, soon placing the leftovers in teh fridge with labels on how to reheat them... There was a mason in the house after all....

Cael just sighed and went about carrying the many many bags back to his room.



Mason was lingering.



"We should invest in these."

" Then go buy some from the store."



She replied with a small smile.

Mason frowned and pouted.



"I can't drive with the walking boot..."

Alyson sighed, nodding slowly.



" I'll get some for you tomorrow, and make homemade pancakes for breakfast in the morning?"

"yay!" And he hobbled off. Yeah, that was all that it took to make Mason happy.

alyson sighed and soon located Cael in his room once more, looking him over, entering slowly.



" What ya doin?"



Yep, not tired, and curious.

Cael looked up.



"I'm... Um..." He looked down at the three stacks of books on his bed, next to a some maps and a huge stack of photocopied things. On the floor was a couple of cardboard boxes.



"Nothing."

Alyson hesitated, looking a bit worried.



" Your not leaving or soemthing are you?"

Cael looked at her bizarrely.



"Why would I be bringing stuff IN if I was moving OUT?"

" ... it just looks odd."



She replied softly, feeling slightly chided as she stared at him.



" can I come in?"

Cael laughed lightly.



"Yeah, I don't care. Well... don't step on anything..."

" So... What are you doing mister sneak out and sneak in?"

Cael smiled faintly and then went about stuffing all the stuff into boxes.



"I wasn't sneaking. It was very obvious my coming and going."

Alyson sighed, setting beside the man, watching him.



" not enough, so, what are you doing?"



Push, push, prod, PUSH.

Cael glanced up at her, not realizing this was the third time she had asked.



"Oh, I'm mailing my stuff off."

" what stuff?"



Yep, little kid at the moment, why? because 'stuff' was center of attention, therefore, ask, ask, ask.

Cael didn't glance up, taping off a box.



"My dissertation stuff."

" Oh."



Yep, all interest lost.



" can't it wait until tomorrow morning?"

Cael looked up at her with a sigh.



"...I guess so. I would rather it not, but I guess so."

" so then you could play with me now?"



she asked slowly, small grin upon her face. man, mason was wearing off on her... she was starting to act like a sugar deprived kid or something with the lack of attention thing >.>

Cael looked up at her. Then he looked back at his boxes on the floor. Then he looked between the two of them.



"Do I have to move the boxes?"

" Nope."



she purred with a large grin, gently taking his hand and leading him off into her room... where she had an amazing looking thing set up.







ROCK BAND!!!!!!





And without a word, she handed the drumsticks to Cael.

Cael looked at her and then at the drumsticks.



"Um... I've never done this before..."

" then we'll go through the tutorial "



she replied simply, watching him closely.
