Hunter growled, staring him down.

" MY boy would have never done -"



He stopped now as his wife touched his elbow. She was clearly distraught, given the tears, but the way she shook her head now.



" We do not anger the goddess that saves so many. It is said she would take one with her. We must have misunderstood how it was meant."



She offered simply, glancing to hunter.



" Please forgive him. We tried for ten years before we had him... and we have had none since. It pains us greatly that he would throw his life away so foolishly."

Hunter simmered, cooling to a reasonable level of displeasure. He could at least communicate like a human being.



"I'm not the one whose forgiveness you should ask."



His eyes turned to Naomi.

Naomi looked to hunter.



Do not make me forgive. I am not mature enough to do so right now.



She replied honestly, ignoring the way she was gazed upon.



I just want to tend my child and then go home.



She restated, snuggling storm as she winced a bit at the new pains, kissing over storm.

Hunter just shook his head.



No, I wouldn't expect you to.



He glanced at the two, frowning vaguely before just moving to sit with her, pulling her to him and protecting her in his arms. He was done with the centaurs. Forget them.

Naomi snuggled and hide in Hunter's arms.

she offered, feeling badly about her babies getting sick... about Hunter getting sick, about the rape, about everything.

Hunter shook his head, rubbing her back gently as he held her.

Naomi nuzzled him.



" His eyes popped out of his head. "



she offered absently.

Hunter looked up at her, debating for a moment.



"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

Naomi paused.





" I finally got my hands free and shoved my fingers into his temples, and his eyes fell out. I think it's good, given the circumstances."

Hunter just nodded, pressing her head to his chest and kissing the top of it.

she offered honestly, snuggling closer to Hunter, gasping as she held to her stomach. Oh.. that didn't feel well.

Concern clouded about Hunter's eyes as he pressed his hand to her stomach as well.

Hunter's lips pressed together. He didn't say anything, biting the inside of his cheek. He was worried.

Naomi looked up at Hunter.

Hunter just shook his head for a minute.

Naomi looked over him.

Hunter lifted her chin.



I don't want to kill my own child.

Naomi nodded slowly, cuddling to Hunter.

She purred, holding her son closer to her breast, head tucked up under Hunter's chin.

Hunter kissed the top of her head.



I feel like I should say something.

... Know I will hate, loath even, the child should it be his.



She responded simply, snuggling him.



That's all that needs said.

Hunter nodded... Then, he spoke hesitantly.



I'm not sure that I can stomach raising the child of my mate's rapist.

... I probably won't last long, child of mine or not.



She admitted, snuggling storm a bit more. it would likely be killed, by her own hands... and then she'd have to stomach the guilt.

Hunter considered this. He was quiet as he thought.

He hesitated. He didn't want her to think he was demanding or anything. He was just putting the thought out there.



The grandparents seem like good enough people, and they want for a child.

She replied, trying desperately to keep the cut from her voice, but it was still there, to some degree. The wound was too fresh and deep, hunter.

HUnter just nodded. He didn't say anything else. He just held her. He felt so bad. It was just... Storm had been spewing blood everywhere...

Naomi snuggled her baby boy as he vomited again, easily shifting to clean it up and feed him again.

naomi offered, catching the minor hints of guilt, eyes turning to Hunter.

Hunter nodded.



I know... It's just... I should be able to protect you. I should at least be able to do that much.

Naomi smiled bitterly.



" I am not worth the effort to protect, you know. It's easier to just let them have whatever it is they want and let them leave."

Hunter simply kissed her cheek.



"You're worth it to me."

Naomi glanced up.



" he's worth more then me. Don't ever miss-chose."



She offered, pointedly snuggling and loving on her son.

Hunter didn't say anything. He just simply held her, petting at her.

Naomi would remain there for a long while, eventually dropping into sleep. Once the amazon mother was certain Naomi was sleeping, she'd wonder into the room, watching the pair.



" if it is my grandchild... please don't let her kill it."



she pleaded gently. She understood, she clearly did, because it was asked as a request, not a demand or command.. but still.

Hunter just looked up at the woman. He considered her and he simply gave a shrug. That was the best that he could do right now. At least he didn't shake his head?

The woman nodded, looking over Naomi. The marks were mostly gone, but the fact they had lasted so long, was kind of a sign that either the damage had been bad, or that she was rather ill still... In this case is was mostly the first, but partly the second. She hadn't laid down and taken it happily, that was for sure. He'd only lasted about 60 seconds before getting off, too.... which was pathetic, but that's not the topic at hand.





Eventually...



" I am sorry. It's not much, but I am. The tribe is more the animal half then the human half at times..."



You know, Centaurs are really smart normally.. this woman didn't seem that far off though, given the levelheadedness she was demonstrating for this all.

Hunter just gathered Naomi closer to his chest.



"Vampires are like that too."



He stroked her hair.



"Except normally I can protect her from those."



He felt like this was his fault. he was the one that suggested that they come down here.

" ... My son was never like that.... But she drew this interest out of many of the males. She reminds me much of the Siren's visit when she was here..."

Hunter just shook his head.



"She is a very special lady."

The woman nodded. This was clear. However, now she would rise at the sound of the front door, wondering from the room.
