" Should we not leave this location to the fate it was destined?"

Vynz smiled a faint, almost chastising smile.



"I came here with a specific intention, and changing history was not it. But, if you were going to do something, it's not like I plan on running away screaming, 'SHE DID IT!'."

Glancing about, Suri thought for a moment, looking to the woman, then then man and child, shaking her head slowly.



" should I change it, when they resume, they will think she really is a witch, unless of course I spend the time changing memories, and that's so time consuming...."



suri complained, wand in hand none the less as she slowly started manipulating memories, stopping after the second person, looking to Vynz.



" She is a witch..... but she's not the one they want for the crime their charging her with...... She poses as a doctor around here...... They just feel she's been able to save too many people, so there has to be more then good practices....... but she's being charged with murder-like actions.... She didn't do that..."



Yeah, hazards of memories and other people's heads....

Vynz shrugged slightly. Well, if she was going to go about this, he might as well co-conspirit.



"Stuff happens, I guess." He walked across the way. The man loosed the ropes from their knots so that the swinging pair would fall down to the scaffold, able to catch their breath less damaged than it would be. Then, warily he stood before the fire. The man stepped up and began to smother the flames that only came alive when touched.

Glancing to Vynz, she smiled slightly, and was working on helping the group, not too bothered by all the memories she was changing, ever so slightly, or the minor details that went with those changes... man, the things you went through when you got nosey...

Vynz sighed, slapping at the flames with the cloth again.



"You know, if life was easy, I could actually just move the girl. But since it's not, I'm fighting a fire that isn't actually happening."

Suri glanced over, laughing softly.



" Life is never easy for the complicated that live it."

"Man, you know I heart me some fortune cookies." Vynz spoke it sarcastically, but jokingly. And then he did smiled. Finally, he had managed to put out the flames.



"What now?"

" She needs to be completely moved for my editing to work... like, in her house, moved."



she explained slowly, looking to the post.

Vynz gave a groan.



"Gah! Why couldn't you have told me that before I spent the last ten minutes trying to bat out the fire? I could have just stepped across it." Sighing, he walked up to the woman, untying the rope that tied her there. Then, he went to pick her up. As he moved her, though, she did the same as the boy. She lived in those moments, screaming and then looking at the stranger. He stopped and she froze again.



"Good grief. I think I'm going to go deaf." And he was only halfway down in the mound, her halfway into his arms.

Suri chuckled, smiling as she pointed to a house on the outskirts of the village.



" that one is her's."

Vynz, despite everything, had the delicate woman into his arms. It took her until the gallows before she decided to try and start beating on him with her little fists.



"Stop it!" He paused for a moment (the woman freezing) to crinkle his face, working his jaw from where she had hit him. Little thing had a nasty right hook.



"I blame you. I don't care if it's always the guy's fault, this one is on you."

" Nope. Your life in the balance, you decided to help "



Suri reminded him, grinning.

"Fine. Next time I'll do the hocus pocus and you can do the grunt work carrying around thrashing women." With that, he walked off. Halfway down the street, the woman finally began to listen to him.



"We are saving you and your family." Finally, he had put the woman in her own house, settling her onto a chair. With a sigh of relief, he froze, looking around warily. Something seemed strange to him. The wind whistled against the windowpanes.

" Wind shouldn't move."



suri commented, standing behind vynz, as she'd followed him over.



" Bad omen."

"Man, that makes me feel at ease." Vynz looked at the sorceress pointedly.



"Five minutes after the last time you said that, I got a death sentence." His eyes moved to a shutter that was forced shut by the wind with a sharp thunk.

Suri shrugged, looking to vynz.



" it's truth."

The locket in Vynz's pocket suddenly vibrated like beserk, thudding against his leg. He bent slightly, but stopped before his hand reached his pocket. As he turned slightly towards the stairs, hearing something moving. The what happened next felt like it was happening in slow motion, moving through water, but that happened every so often. That is how it felt when things were happening out of sync with actual time. And not like the frozen town's out of time.



Vynz's hand stopped because a hand slipped over his pocket instead, the matching delicate one sliding across his shoulders.



"Noble soul... You let go of nothing in your iron grip, do you?" He blinked a few times as he had just turned, his eyes glimpsing the little head of black hair. Despite the new pixie cut, he would never have mistaken the sharply-angled face it framed.



"You wronged me." He could quite catch her as she giggled.



"Oh, don't be so fickle-hearted! It was a fling! Is this your new obsession? You could have done better, dear friend, but if she makes you happy... I'd be happy to meet her. Play with me?" Then suddenly the world caught up with itself and things felt normal. And Rosaline was gone.

Very aware. Suri was very aware of both words, and happenings as time changed, and resumed. Looking to Vynz, her eyes darkened, but the way she acted clearly stated it was not because she'd just seen the woman, and it pertained more to her words.

Vynz was frowning deeply as he looked at Suri.



"Don't look at me like that. You're the one that decided to tag along."

" could do better my little pixie dust jar!! coming from the mouth of demon filth."



Yep, obviously it was the insulting part getting to her. Eyes wondering over Vynz, she growled slightly.



" damn conscience."

Vynz was actually amused that this was the part that was bothering Suri the most. It wasn't even the insinuated relationship. So what did he do? He egged her on.



"Coming from the mouth of someone always looking for the next, best thing."

Suri turned to Vynz, eyes sparking.



" Spoiled selfish cow. "



she replied simply.



" never known how to actually be, like a child looking for the next new wrapper that catches her attention, not even knowing what the box contained."



Suri all but growled, looking to the sky.

Vynz grinned lightly, letting it go now. He had had his fun. Now it was time to face things.



"Well, either way, I don't think we should keep standing in one spot. Unless you're playing freeze tag, that seems to be the worst thing to do in most games."

suri glanced to him, glaring daggers still.



"as if I'd date a vampire anyway... they have a horrid reputation."

Vynz gave her a look for a minute. It wasn't like he was the worst thing, but... He just shook his head. It was a good thing his ego wasn't fragile.



"That's alright. I already told you. I don't date." He opened the door in attempt to pry her from her spot.

Suri made another face, growling as she stormed from the house, clearly put off.



" And if I WERE going to date one, I wouldn't date one that I worked with!!!!! You NEVER date your co-works."



Yep, his words were lost. This was almost as bad as calling her a witch. Almost.

"You don't work with me. I was fired, remember?" Vynz wasn't trying to convince her to date him, but he wasn't sure why he was saying this... he followed her, looking around carefully, expecting anything and nothing.

" NOT TO MENTION! if i were to date you, we'd have to like, I don't know, hog tie your sister and toss her down the Nile!!"



yep, he didn't matter at all as she stomped on. Way to go little man eating woman.

"Vy isn't that bad. She likes you more or less. You just happened to be the only suspect around. Come on." Vynz said this one only half defensively. he didn't really care if she tried to insult his sister. Evynna might, but he didn't.

Suri stopped, looking back to him now.



" Not to mention, you DO NOT DATE....so you claim."

Vynz gave her a flat look and then rolled his eyes.



"Yes, I so have reason to lie about something like that." He brushed past her. This was Africa... but the wind was cold and wild. He didn't like it.

Suri watched him a moment, eyebrow raising.



" Are you implying I'm not worthy of dating?"



So this wasn't dying anytime soon.

Vynz didn't even bother to glance at her, despite her attack like he had done something wrong.



"I have never looked at you to consider whether you were or not because I don't date. Besides, I don't really see what it matters. Like you said, you wouldn't date me anyhow, so why do you care what I think?" Yeah, he just wasn't winning. He paused in the middle of an intersection, debating which way to go. He couldn't believe she was so hung up on this.

" It's the principle of the situation."



She replied, trying to calm the heat in ehr voice, failing miserably as she eyed Vynz.



" That being said, well?"

"Well what?" Vynz turned right. The wind rushed down the road, blasting him in the face. He looked about, narrowing his eyes.

" WELL Do you find me repulsive and unattractive, or what??"

Vynz gave a heavy sigh, pausing for a minute.



"Listen, I really don't even see why it matters, but I think that it's not exactly the right time to be having this discussion." The man felt that strange ripple once more as a giggle crossed the air out of time.



"Aww, don't neglect her on my behalf!" One of the figures that had seemed frozen until this point lifted her head. Rosaline flashed a grin, whipping off the period bonnet and disappearing, time syncing together even as Vynz rushed across the way. She had evaded his grasp, simply by distance this time.

" What better time is there? It's not as if i can be sure you'll be around to answer these questions later. it's an easy question to answer."



yep, Rosaline had officially made herself unimportant enough to not register. Wonderful nerve.

You could all but see the cartoon sweatdrop slide down Vynz's forehead. The man finally gave up. He really didn't have time for this, but seeing as this was the only way to get her calmed... Vynz stopped and turned around, eyes looking her over. They weighed each of her features.



"You are very vibrant - everything from your hair to your stance breathes energy. Your eyes are interesting to look at, and your figure is attractive. I would say that you are even prettier than Rosaline. So, I were to..." He felt the watery bubbling as it happened, and was moving even as it did so. She was close. In fact, it was so that Vynz's forearm collided with Suri, pushing her to the side. After a moment, he had wrestled Rosaline to the ground, pinning her with all of his weight and his hand gripping her by the hair.



"You are a cruel man." Time crashed together again.
