Naomi watched the animal, a bit closer now. Why? Well it was placing it's face, full of teeth that hurt, against her vulnerable stomach. However, she calmed and reached for the handle towel she'd left on the couch, gently drying the wolf off.

Fang pulled back just a little bit and then shook his body, the remaining water flying everywhere. It considered her, snuffed at the woman, and then gave something oddly like a nod. The animal licked her face.

Naomi smiled and moved and placed said dead animal in previously mentioned towel and decided she'd let Hunter deal with it. After all, she was asked not to go out, listening seemed like a good idea...

With this, she smiled at Fang and went to get a snack.

Fang stalked after her, seeming just to watch her curiously. Who was the stranger in the house? How much could she be trusted? What was she DOING? However, after a little bit, the creature stopped. His ears perked up and he looked behind him. Sure enough, a moment later, the front door opened, admitting the master.

Hunter's expression was hard to read, but it was clear that whatever it was, it was not good. He was wearing a heavy coat, one hand tucked inside of it. He might have been holding something in that hand. It was hard to tell. Either way, the dripping man paused in the living room, considering the dead animal. After a moment, he picked it up with his free hand, putting it into his mouth before picking up the towel and walking off into the house.

Fang headbutted Naomi. Who knew why? Maybe he was just being grouchy again.

Naomi really could careless why Fang headbutted her. This time the woman followed Hunter, lightly catching hold of him.

" hey."

she purred gently. Maybe human, but not worthless, right?

Hunter paused.

"Mmm."

He paused tossing the towel in the hamper in first bathroom before taking the animal out of his mouth. He licked his lips clean, retracting his teeth.

"Yeah?"

Naomi didn't pay any mind to the blood, or the animal. After all she'd been his meal for quite some time. Either way her look was sincere as she considered him. "what is it? Are you okay?"

Hunter gave a slight shrug, moving now towards the front door. He opened it just long enough to toss the dead animal far out into the storm.

"Yeah. Just an occupational hazard."

The man pulled his hand out from inside of his coat. He was holding a thick envelope. He made slight face at the blood that was on his hand and the envelope. However, he didn't seem concerned about it. He opened the thing up, pulling out a sheath of papers with his clean hand. They didn't have blood on them.

Hunter held them out towards Naomi. They were things that belonged to her: birth certificate, diplomas, letters of recommendation, drivers license, etc. At the same time, he was attempting to wipe the blood off on his hand to his pantleg.

Naomi set the things down without care, moving right back to Hunter, frowning.

" Your not hurt are you?"

she asked slowly. she about accelerated healing, but hurt was hurt.

Hunter had walked over towards the garbage, tossing out the envelope. Fang was sticking his muzzle about Hunter, snuffling. Hunter didn't seem to care. The man just glanced at Naomi.

"Just a little. It's not a big deal."

Naomi sighed, reach over and keeping Hunter from moving, now her fingers working over him, with or without his consent, discovering the issue and her eyes turned back up towards him.

" What happened?"

she repeated, considering him. Yeah, dumb dumb, laughed at you or not, she cared.

Hunter stared at her for a moment. Then, quite methodically, he took of his coat, laying it across one of the chairs in the kitchen. Then, he peeled off his black shirt right there in the middle of the kitchen light, exposing all of his chest and tattoos and half-naked to her. Why should he care? They had been laying together for quite some time. It didn't even occur to him that she hadn't seen him really in the light before.

"Well, the post office collapsed."

He prodded at the burn on his side. It was second degree, as he could still feel the hurt.

"...and there might have been a small explosion from the gas main rupture."

Naomi sighed, considering his side for a while, shifting to gingerly clean it, speaking absently.

" Did you get my 'corrected' birth certificate for after I was adopted, or before?"

She asked absently, gently sitting him down, looking him over. She was debating whether dressing it was worth while. She'd decided for comfort, if nothing else, it would be. This is why she dressed it now, fingers ever tender and careful with him.

"Both."

Hunter answered this simply, watching her work with a mild disinterest. The man considered this. It really wasn't a big deal. It would be gone by tonight anyhow. However, he didn't try to make her stop, just sitting there.

"So, Doc, am I going to live?"

Naomi looked up now at the 'both' comment and was already reaching for the papers as she moved to sit in his lap, looking over her real name, smiling slightly.

" I was born in Greece. I was given up for adoption because they couldn't afford me. The parents that adopted me kept my first name, but changed my middle and last..."

She commented absently. She'd been six when her parents had given her up. She'd lived in Greece until she was 19 and moved away form her adoptive parents. She'd never thought to changing her name back.

" I like my real name better."

Perhaps that's why when he called her Miss Linu it bothered her so?

Either way she stopped talking and moved to kiss Hunter.

" and no. You won't live, but you will be fine."

she teased, smiling at him.

Hunter raised a brow.

"Then why don't you change it back to what you like better?"

Was it an emotional thing? Heaven knows that Hunter had contemplated changing his name a million times in the years he had been alive.

" Because then, instead of calling me Naomi, like I want you to call me, you'd run around calling me Anemone.... And I hate Linu... "

But Anemone reminded her of her actual father, and she didn't want to think of him. Her parents had been told they could visit and talk to her and such, but they'd never come to do so. Perhaps that would be why Naomi would likely be the last person on the face of the planet to admit she cared about someone. Well, admit it to someone other then herself.

" I'm Naomi. "

She restated gently. Actually, it was rather amusing, all her Dr. tags said Dr. Naomi, not Linu, or Anemone.

" Dianthe was my mother's name."

It had also been her middle name....

Hunter glanced her over.

He rolled his eyes, gathering up his shirt and tossing it out.

Naomi considered him, sighing.

" Why won't you just call me what I am?"

She asked him, looking rather bothered by this. Either way, the woman had given up on whatever it mattered about it, and grabbed her papers and left Hunter to himself, hiding away back in that room full of books, shutting the door(s). No Fang. No Hunter. You'd struck a sour note. You'd known her for four years, and you'd stayed up hours talking to her, not just bedding her, and you've been around how many years?.... and you still do stupid man like things -_- .

Hunter followed her. He ignored the door being shut in his face. He opened it right back up, leaning against the doorframe. The man looked over her.

"You want to know what my last name is? Go ahead. Ask me."

What was your game here, Hunter?

Naomi looked up from the book she had been trying to distract herself with.

" Names are lost and found, given and taken easily. They do not matter. Has your name mattered to me these last four years? No. I just wanted the man. I didn't need his name as long as I had him. "

Because she knew if he decided to leave there was no way she could change it. She was only human, after all. No... who cared. You've ruffled her feathers, darling.

" So why should it matter what you call me? "

Hunter's gaze softened some now.

"I am sorry. I did not realize that it bothered you so."

He didn't move from the doorway, though. He could tell that she needed her space.

"I just do not want you to end up feeling bound up by me."

" I hated them."

She stated simply. She'd merely forgotten she had the right to change her name. She had hated those parents that would rob her of even who she was, replace her name with a fake one. They'd only let her keep her first name because she came to nothing else...However, now her eyes turned to Hunter.

" I am already bound to you until I die or until you pass me by."

However, the woman seemed to have realized she'd said too much and her mouth shut, her eyes falling to the book once more, though it was clear she wasn't reading. it was something else to look at other then him.

However, just because he'd pressed so hard.

" What is your last name?"

why had he pressed so hard for her to ask?

Hunter let her have her words. She seemed uneasy about them, and he would not put her on the spot for them. What was the point in that? He glanced to the side. The only reason he had told her to ask was because she was being so sensitive... and because she might understand something a little better.

"I don't have one."

Hunter said this simply, casual as anything. He gave a shrug.

"I was never old enough. I never became a man."

Naomi looked up now, eyes roaming over Hunter as she slowly put down her book and moved over to him, hands wondering over his chest a moment. Then she kissed him.

" well as much as I have not one, but two, neither mean anything to me and I'd glad be rid of them."

Because honestly, what kind of parents never contact their child again? And what kind of parents want to beat and abandon their child? ... Yes, disown both sounded nice.

Hunter nodded.

"No problem."

Well, except for the post office blowing up. Other than that, it was a piece of cake. He ran his finger along her throat, tracing the veins beneath the skin. He seemed to be considering it for a moment or two. Then, he must have decided not right now, as he let his hand fall away.

she offered simply, moving to kiss him.

Hunter gave a small smile.

"You gained a few years overnight."

However, then he slipped away. It was late afternoon. He used the day to go about his business, to figure out what he was going to do. This whole mess... She probably wouldn't see him until the night again.

Naomi was alright with letting him be, discovering he actually had ladies clothing, tugging on a night gown she liked alot, and then she climbed right back onto the couch and turned on the TV.

"Evening."

" Hello."

Hunter leaned now on the back of the couch casually, looking down at her. He had since removed the dressing and was healed. He had also put a shirt on, his signature black. He considered the woman.

"Did you day turn out as poorly as it began?"
