" No, thank you master."
she said softly, looking to him now, watching his hand on her's.

Lot's eyes drifted down to the hands. Well... that was kind of awkward. How to...? The man gently patted her hand and then drew his away. His eyes lifted to the ceiling.
"I built this." Not so subtle diversion, but hey?

" really? it has to have been around for at least 100 years..."
she pointed out softly, looking about, smiling.

Lot's recovery was awfully quick, considering the slip of the tongue.
"A lot of the glass work needed some modification and maintenance. The weather can get a bit unpredictable."

She purred, not sounding too believing, looking about.

Lot furthered.
"But if you know what you're doing, you can salvage most of the old materials. Just new sealants and such." He was too stuck on this one to try and think of another diversion for his diversion.

" right."
she said softly, nodding off again, still not believing a word or it.

Lot lay there on the bed, chewing the inside of his lip. Avoid a car accident only to board a train wreck. He was thinking about how he should have just named himself a liar, should have just said that he really wished he would have built his room. Hopefully that was what she would believe. Lot eventually drifted in and out, dreaming about bodies that drifted through glass and stars and rained down on them.

Victoria slept soundly through the night, looking up cautiously as she woke, rubbing her eyes as she looked to her sleeping master.

Lot this time stayed asleep. It was kind of funny. Like the Romeo/Juliet syndrome. One would wake just as the other drifted away. Except, of course, there was no single striking moment where they meet the crushing realization of horror.

Victoria was actually more busy trying to figure out how, in the midst of her sleep, she had ended laying across the bed, her head on his chest, his arm over her shoulders, and her feet tangled in the sheet. it was odd how she fit on the bed and they made a bit of a sloppy T formation on the mattress.. Or the better question was, how had she moved to this spot, and managed to rest on his upper chest, so as not to hurt him? .....
Or even more pressing as she realized she might get chided when he woke, how much trouble was she goign to be in, for her subconscious?

Lot moved in his sleep, his arm gliding down her spine. His hand rested in the curve at the small of her back, and his head turned, nestling his face into her warm chestnut locks. It seemed that (at least subconsciously) he was used to someone sleeping there with him. His mouth twitched in his slumber, almost bordering on a smile. And he inhaled deeply....

victoria smiled at him, nuzzling back shyly, liking the affection, whether it was meant for her or not, taking what she could get, snuggling tighter to him, cooing in his ear.

Lot stirred slightly. His eyes fluttered a bit and his sleepy voice crept out of his throat like a stretching cat.
"Aww... five more minutes..." His eyes opened the rest of the way and there was a strange pause in his sentence as he registered the girl laying beside him.
"Elizabeth?"

Elizabeth froze. Even her breathing stopped as she stared at her master, and slowly slipped from him, looking like she might bolt completely from the house and this planet, if given a few more moments.

Lot sat up, his amber colored eyes watching her movements. He should have said something. He knew that he should have tried to be kind and ease her fears and not be... well... like he was being. But he could only stare at her.

Lot slipped out of his bed and followed her. He spoke, and rather calmly at that.
"Why are you running?"

Victoria was currently setting on her bed, knees curled to her chest as she looked to at her toes, actually visibly shaking. She remained silent, too afraid of speaking, knowing his temper all too well.

Lot looked at her for a long time. He wanted to leave her there, to go back to the sanctuary of his own room. But then there was the little voice that yelled at him from somewhere just behind his wound.
"I didn't say anything?"

"Yes, you should have." But then Lot stood there, and then (as awkward as it was for him) he walked over and stroked her hair. It was strange, almost like a child with its plaything. But it wasn't malicious.

Victoria made a small little face, swallowing down the feelings in her throat, nodding as she heard his words, making another soft apology.
" I meant no harm."
she said gently.

Lot's smile slowly faded as he looked at her. Then came a soft sigh. She seemed insistent on liking him. He didn't know what to do with that.
"Do I need to buy more groceries?"

shaking her head slowly, she moved to curl up in the bed a bit more, feeling all alone once again as she rolled over to look at the window.
" I'll be fine with what we have, for a very long time."

Lot looked at her and reached over as though to roll her back over.
"Look, I don't want you being sick and everything." It's too hard to deal with. The man gave her a pat on the butt.
"You wanted to go out. Put on some clothes. We're going." Heaven help him.

Looking at him, not understanding why he was teasing her with things like this, she figured it was merely punishment for being foolish, moving to her bathroom to change and dres, and put some shoes on, lokking hesitantly ready, and clearly uncertain.

Lot was wearing a loose t-shirt and a pair of jeans. You actually couldn't tell that there was a huge bandage underneath. He stood at the door with a raised brow as he examined her shoes. Then the man walked away.
"Come on." He made his way out and to the front door with a sigh. What on earth was he going to do with her? This entire thing was a headache.

Lot nodded and then stood there for a minute or two. Apparently the car was running a bit slow today. But when it came, the man opened the drivers door, handed the driver a few bills, and watched as said man got out of the car and began to walk back the way he had come.
"What kind?" Lot gestured for the girl to hop in the front seat as he eased into the driver's spot.

Looking to her master, she hesitated, speaking slowly.
" I typically watched comedies when I went, but all are fine."
she said softly.

Lot nodded slightly, adjusting the mirrors and taking off.
"Huh. I had you pegged for a chick flick devotee." Not that he intended to watch a chick flick. It would probably take about a half hour to forty five minutes before they reached the city. Car rides = woohoo.

Looking to her master, she sighed inwardly.
" They are okay, but they don't tend to show what life is really like. comedies are merely breaks from reality. Looking at the good times... "
She explained softly before looking to the floorboard, not too interested.

Lot didn't say anything to this. He hadn't really expected any sort of explanation. After all, he liked action films. Why? They were cool. That was about it.
The city was a pretty decent size with actually a lot things. Most impressively was that here they actually seemed to have lights! Like... building were lit up with neon and everything. The theatre, however was not the biggest ones. It looked like one of those little cinemas where all the movies were like five bucks.
