Looking him over, she considered him a moment more before walking off ( as running wasn't possible for her), returning about a minute later, reaching over and pulling the wood free ( though, it took every ounce of strength and more) as she soon cleaned, and applied presser to his wound, knowing to stop the bleeding before anything else.....

God damn you, you better clot better then I do.

Lot was completely and utterly shocked by her almost brutality. As the splintered wood pulled free he gave another shout. He had only felt one thing more painful than that, and that thing had killed him.

"*** *** * hurts ** ** *** *" Sprinkled in with gasping for breath as she pushed down on his stomach. Lot was shaking all over by now, his pallid skin turning clammy. On the bright side, of course he clotted faster than her. Oh, and he could speak.

" I promise I'm trying..."

she said gently, looking him over and leanign over to kiss his forehead.

" Unlike you, like I said... I care."

At one point he'd acted like he cared... for more then a few days even... then it vanished... and she hadn't been any different, so she didn't understand more then the fact he'd decided she wasn't worthy of him.

Lot looked at her and reached out and grabbed her hand but not forcefully. He seemed frustrated, though not at her exactly.

"If you're in so much..." He had to break off. This wasn't easy on ANY body. "...Just picked up that... spike and shove it through my heart... It's not like you wouldn't be set for life." He coughed, laughing bitterly and painfully as blood spewed out. His vision was blurred slightly by this point. And she had thought that she was in a bad position. You could bleed a vampire to death.

Victoria looked at him, eyes sad.

" I would if I could, but it'd be easier to kill myself. You own me in a way the slave market cold never sell me in. I lost my virginity to you, I gave a piece of myself away... the only one I owned. I can't destroy that... because it's the most precious to me.... and you own it now. I could easier destroy myself."

She informed him, noticing he was clotted up now, moving to apply ointments and such to him before wrapping him tightly, just incase he tore the precious scab, preventing bleeding.

Lot just lay there in the glass, his ears catching her words in a slow way. He just sighed and shook his head slowly. One of his hands was resting over the wound, which by the way didn't hurt any less with the wood gone. The other was resting on her thigh.

"You should have done me." His voice was tapering off as his eyes drooped unwillingly. His lips still moved, though he was mostly unaware of his words.

"Freed us both." He let out a long breath, his bloodstained lips forming only one more comment.

"You're so warm." And then he slipped away into unconsciousness.

Victoria looked down, eyes sadder, she thought he was referring to the burden she was, and she started crying again as he passed out, going to get a drink and trying to keep it down, moving to return to his side, soon using what strength she had to move him out and towards the living room, setting on the couch for the time being, nursing him to health, only taking care of herself to tend him better.

In a couple days she managed to move him up a few more sets of stairs, by that night moving him up, all the way to his room and into his bed. she was very careful not to touch anymore of his room then she needed to, as she recalled clearly, how little he really wanted her around.

tending him as needed, she spoke nothing more to him, aside to check on his status, heart ache once more hidden, ever his silent maid, feeding Ilford, and having to force herself to eat, throwing up more then half her meals, unable to help it.

Once Lot was to the point he could easily talk, she only came into the room when he'd ring a bell for her, or call her, staying clear out of his way, and out from under foot, figuring he was tired of her, and wanted to remain as free of her as possible. However, during this ordeal, she'd started a journal... If only lot could see all the entries that had taken place, to know how she was handle things... he'd know she was becoming something similar to an android, simply in order to function with all this... not to mention, she'd missed her follow up appointment, so the doctor was calling and harassing... alot...

Victoria didn't want a doctor anymore, or even friends and family. she wanted no one to care, so she could get to the point she'd stop caring. Caring hurt. Compassion hurt. Feelings were nothing but useless to you, causing nothing but pain and agony.

One night, being called up to tend on lot, she helped him get eased into sleep, and looked upon his face, recalling the first time she'd seen it, comparing it to now. It still matched.

" what do you dream about that makes you so happy?"

She asked softly, wishing he could have it, because, if nothing else, she might feel human around him again. Feel like she was more then his doormat, trophy, or tool. How had he manipulated her into thinking he cared about her, and managed to then do this to her, all within the last month and a half?

Did you ever truely even like me? Let alone care....?

Lot's eyes fluttered slightly, though he didn't wake up completely. The man had heard her speak, though whatever she had said was lost to his subconscious. Lot's honey-brown eyes settled on the fair girl in a half-lidded manner. The man had tried not be quite so cruel, not that there was really much difference between cruelty and not when you are a bedridden wreck. But still... it's the thought that counts?

Lot closed his eyes, his thoughts drifting here and there as he began to fall asleep again. The whole situation had reminded him of several things that just wouldn't stop nagging him. And then a thought occurred to him for the first time. His eyes opened just a crack and he spoke softly, moving his arm over his wound.

"Elizabeth... Sit beside me." On his bed.

Victoria looked to her master, and hesitantly moved towards him, and lightly set beside him, keeping her hands in her lap as she let her eyes wonder over him. Shyly she let her eyes wondered to him, looking him over slowly, wondering why he had her on his bed, recalling how he'd acted before, keeping her silence for a good while.

" what would you like, master?"

she asked gently, waiting for his request.

Lot just lay there for a long moment before doing anything. He slowly shook his head.

"Just sit with me for a while." That was the most that he could handle at the moment. This jumping hurdles thing was not for a novice. He needed a stepladder to get over them.

smiling ever so slightly, Victoria carefully moved as her eyes wondered up to him, setting there for a moment.

After a minute, she hesitantly reached over, being as ginger as possible as she moved his bedding to check how his wound was healing, and moving about lightly cleaning it up.

Lot lay there still, watching her sleepily as she prodded around in the thing. It was doing pretty well. I mean, considering that he hadn't died yet and everything.

"Easy." He placed his hand over hers as she prodded a particularly sore spot. He sighed, already starting to drift back asleep.

" It's going to hurt a bit, it's trying to get infected, so I'm going to have to clean it up..."

She said gently, looking up at him as she thought about the things she had at her disposal, wishing she had a few other things, like a scalpel, rather then a knife... It made things a bit easier, however, what was there, would work... if treated properly.

Lot murmured in a discontented manner (though you couldn't really blame him).

"Figures. That was over two hundred years old." But he didn't bring himself to open his eyes and look at the injury for himself.

About ten minutes later, Victoria returned with her personal knife, lighter, rubbing alcohol, cotton swabs, gauze, cotton balls, bandaging and tape as she looked at him with one of those looks as she washed her hands and slipped on her gloves as she sterilized her knife and carefully cut open the infection.

Watching it ooz everywhere, she started to cleaned it up off him as she worked on purging his body of the obvious issue, rinzing the wound clean and carefully compressing it once more to still the bleeding. Watching it slow enough to wrap, she sighed as she finished off filling up the trash can, wondering what she was to do when she ran out of dressing materials.

Lot had gritted his teeth when she cut through, but then he had laughed as she wrapped it.

"Have you had lessons or did you just watch a lot of tv?"

Looking up, she hesitated and spoke slowly.

" My mother was a nurse before she passed away, I use to stay up and read her books while my father slept.... My mother passed on shortly after I was born."

Lot nodded slowly.

"I see." There was an awkward second or two where he just wanted to leave it there, but his newfound conscience pestered him. The man opened one honey colored eye.

"My parents died a long time ago too. If that makes you feel any better?" Then he really wished that he would have left it there. That sounded dumb. He sounded like he was having a little pity party.

victoria smiled slightly.

" No need to worry about me, I'm learning to deal, and that's one thing I've handled for a long while. ...."

Victoria purred aoftly as she wished she had the rest of the things she needed, looking about his room now, wondering if she should get off his bed.

Lot knew what he wanted to say. He knew what he should say. He knew what he needed to say. All of those fought with each other internally and he just nodded, shutting his eye. The man reached out, grasping her hand as he started to drift off once again.

Letting him drift solidlym into sleep, she couldn't stop herself as she leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek before wondering downstairs to let him rest in peace, cleaning the house.

Lot had a strange sleep then. It was feather-light but he could not wake himself. And from what he dreamed about... He would have given his spleen to have woken.

It hovered near the door. Apparently It had grown even more brazen, almost as though daring to be caught. It would linger for a hair's breadth, almost teasing the vision. Right now it was by the kitchen.

Ilford was wrapped around the fish bowl, simply bobbing back and forth as he watched Moby swim around.

Feeding Ilford, then Moby, and filling her own plate, she looked to the doorway, and placed a little plate on the floor before wondering upstairs, going to check on her master.

The food on the floor was not disturbed. Well... the food wasn't. The plate was jerked out from under it and disappeared with It, but otherwise the food was left right where it had been placed.

Lot had woken a minute or so before and had decided that he REALLY needed something to drink. And not the Johnny Black kind of drink, either. So, the man was in the process of standing up, thinking to himself about just how much he would like to amputate everything from the ribcage down. From there it would be a trek to the bathroom.

Finding him missing from the bed, she nearly freaked, however, she relaxed when she saw his bathroom door closed ( as it had been open to this point), sighing inwardly, looking about, she yawned and thought about taking a nap her ownself....

perhaps...

before she knew what was happening, she was sleeing on the floor, head resting on a book in her hands.

Lot returned from his little bathroom excursion, not quite as flushed as when he went outdoors, but still looking fairly... pleasant. It induced a certain friendliness. He knelt down and simply stared at the girl curiously.

Sound asleep, as she'd not rested in days, once again, focused on taking care of Lot, she'd simply fallen asleep on the floor, happening to have her head rest upon the book she'd picked up just prior to.

Rolling over slightly in her sleep, she curled up into a little ball, and continued to sleep, though one could tell it wasn't the most pleasant form of sleep as her face contorted once in a while, and she rolled over more then a dozen times in fifteen minutes.

Lot just squatted there, observing her carefully. Then, carefully, he picked up the girl. He stood thoughtfully and then lay the girl on his black sheets. Very carefully. As though something were uneasy and fragile.

Lot stepped back and watched the woman with consideration. Then, after a couple minutes, he came to the conclusion of what move he should take next. (The drink probably helped.) The man reached out and pulled the quilt over her, sitting cross-legged on the bed beside her.

Lot didn't have anywhere to go. He was going to stay there and watch her. At least... as long as she didn't sleep for forever. Then he might take a nap too. But, for now, he just felt like chilling.

About two hours or so later, Victoria woke with a start, looking about slowly, then up at Lot and started sleep-stampering about not getting in the bed and not knowing how she got there, moving about only slightly... it was comfy.

The man absently, more out of habit than anything else, brushed away her hands.

"I am. Sitting here is not taxing at all." He stretched, wincing at the stupidity of such. The man felt warm and cozy, even though he wasn't curled up in his bed.

Lot's eyes drifted closed out of relaxation rather than sleep. He placed a hand over one of hers after a minute or two, opening his mouth as though to say something. But then he opened his eyes and his voice seemed to hesitate. For the briefest flickiering of a moment there was something of anguish in his eyes and closed his mouth. It took him a bit to think of something.

"I suppose that you are getting hungry?"
