"You and him."



Lucian gestured. Yeah, she said they weren't together, but even in a generic sense...



"How's that happen?"

" Anthrax confinement."



She settled with after a small while. Honest enough, no?





" Visions, ... He's pure, I could not let harm come to him..."



Now it would be clear that she was kicking herself over the issue

Lucian let out a laugh now.



"Oh, I see."



The man let it drop now, just walking along in silence for a while. He was okay with this. Then, after a while, Kai didn't stir in the sense that he was trying to wake up. He was just tensing a little in that way that hinted at a bad dream or discomfort or something.

Sitting down in a small hidey hole, Ajora pressed her hand to his forehead, glad to find no fever there, seeming to actually look concerned over this man as she sat there, watching him.



" I am alot of things, but without being shown what to do, I suck at being a doctor."



she stated honestly. she'd done well before with Kai, but this was different, and he needed help.... She needed to get back to town, but if she just took off... she needed to just let Lucian ride... but she didn't like that idea... but for Kai....



" get back on my back..."



She stated softly, already picking Kai back up.

"Sorry, I'm not much more help."



That was his simple response to the doctor comment. Lucian didn't have going for him. However, at the latter... The man sighed.



"Let's agree not to mention this later."



However, he did as told. The man considered Kai.



"If you take him in wearing that, people might commit him to a psych ward. Do you want me to change them?"



The only problem then was that she might lose whatever he had written. Sometimes Lucian couldn't get things back to exactly how they had originally been.

Ajora looked over Kai.



" I'll get him in something else.. The writing might be important, I don't want to risk loosing that if it is."



She stated as she was careful with kai, soon darting off, not commenting to the other thing. Why would she run around telling people she had a gay guy ride her back?!?

Lucian did get off when they were close. He worked his limbs. Gah, that was weird. He had done some weird stuff, but that was definitely up there. The man now moved with her casually.



"Do you know which way to the hospital?"

" unfortunately.... would you mind picking up the boy from child care?"



She quickly gave Lucien the address, already tending to Kai, moving from Lucien. No real option. She'd not even supplied a name, he was going to have fun.

Lucian had quite a time trying to find the child. Convincing them to give him to Lucian was even trickier. This could take a while.





Kai just lay in the hospital bed, hooked up to IVs and monitors of all sorts. They had given him a blood transfusion and were piping fluids into him of all sorts. The man did not look well at all, his eye sockets dark and sunken, his skin sallow. He was like that for the better part of an hour. However, then his monitors began to go crazy, triggering alarms. His pulse rate shot through the roof and his blood pressure bottomed out.



The nurse that had been attending him panicked. However, she backed away to get more staff, and his eyes shot open. It was a rush of movement as he was very quickly mobbed by people pressing his shoulders back into the bed and telling him to calm.



Hide!



He managed this before the sedative was administered, before he passed back out.







Lucian was now guiding Z towards the room.



"But this is her kid," he tried to explain to one of the frantic nurses.

Looking up, Ajora moved to Lucien, sighing to herself as she lifted up Z, glancing to the frantic nurse and dismissing her without a thought, smiling at the boy, listening to him instantly prattle about things. She was being rather un-ajora like for these few seconds, soon returning back to the room after a bit of arguing and down right bullying.



Looking over kai, she sighed, simply waiting for the sedative to wear off, thankfully, this time, five hours later, the entire staff was downstairs for some reason, and Ajora waited.

Kai slowly opened his eyes, and one could tell when he really understood what he was seeing. The man's breath jerked in sharply, which he regretted. He hurt. They had done a minor surgery to help with internal bleeding. It was no big deal and only had two, one-inch incisions: one just under his shoulder and the other behind his shoulderblade. You could watch all of his stats jump on the monitor.



His eyes turned about the place, and it was obvious that he was struggling with everything. Not to mention, he was panicking just a little. Then, his eyes settled on Ajora and Z. He... what... but... He would be useless until he calmed down. Then again, could you really blame him?

This would be one of those moments where you rejoiced that the tin woman had a heart, as ajora leaned over and placed the lightest of grateful kisses on Kai's forehead.



Thank goodness your alright... easy though... they think I'm your wife. it was the only way I could be close to keep an eye on you.



she purred softly, actually looking like she might be believable as the part with the clear level of concern that was still upon her face. Z was being have, glad he'd not been forgotten.

Kai actually contracted at the kiss. His eyes scrunched shut and his body tensed, limbs drawing up. He let out a groan, gritting his teeth. It wasn't anything personal, though. It was just honestly that he hadn't toned down. The man had been having this problem with contact for a while.



"Oh god!"



He squirmed in the hospital bed as he rasped this out. He gave a groan. A nurse came in.



"Oh, you're awake. Oh, you poor thing, let me get you some painkillers."



The woman didn't even bother to ask him to rate his pain.

Ajora simply watched him as he was given some pain meds, lightly letting her hand rest on the sheets, keeping close tabs on him until he came closer to a normal human level of annoying freakness.



" I am sorry."



Wow.

Kai lifted his green eyes from where they had been vacantly staring off to the side. Tiredly, he looked up at the woman.



"You didn't do anything."



His voice was coarse.



"I..."



The man just trailed off now. He didn't want to think about anything right now. He felt like he was hollow and that he was going to burst all at the same time.



"Thank you."

Feeling guilty, she didn't push, merely sitting by his side still, thankful Lucien stopped by once or twice, letting him take Z to get a break from the hospital.

Kai eventually reached up, touching that fleshy place where he had been gouged, bitten, whatever. His eyes eventually moved to Ajora, concern lingering there.



"Are you okay?"

" Certainly, it's you who should be worried about. Are you feeling any better?'

Kai just looked at her for a long moment. Then, he nodded slowly. He felt terrible. He felt like he fell off the turnip truck, was run over by a steamroller, washed in a tumble washing machine, and then fed through a paper shredder when it was realized he had no worth. However, he could actually think. He felt human again, able to actually exist outside of channeling.



"I'm sorry if I scared you. I... I couldn't think."

Ajora shook her head slowly.



" No, you did not scare me. Well, you current condition worried me..."

Kai shut his eyes.



"You can't stay."



He let out a long breath.



"I saw that. You have trouble coming your way, trouble you won't be able to overcome, if you stay here much longer."



How long had it been already? How was he even alive? What had happened? Oh, his head...

Ajora hesitated only a moment.



" I'd rather stay and die, then leave you on your own."



Holy loli pops.

Kai opened his eyes now, just staring at her. The issue he was struggling with?



But... She doesn't like me. I'm a man.



Then, he rubbed his face.



What on earth did I say to her?



He could remember prophesying, but he couldn't remember what he had said.



"...Thank you?"



What do you say to something like that?

Ajora shrugged, looking to Z that was returning with Lucien.



" What do i do with him? he's just a boy..."

Kai's eyes turned sharply to Ajora.



"He is just a child, but he will grow to be a great and influential man. The care, though brief, of a stranger will not go forgotten."



Then, he reached up, closing his eyes and rubbing his temple.







Lucian was staring.



"Does he do that a lot?"

Ajora nodded slowly, looking to Z, smiling slightly to him.



" Come on buddy."



With that, he was placed to rest in the sleeper recliner. he was currently passed off as the adopted son. No one questioned, so they went with it. They had no choice. She had to make things work with Kai as he was.

Lucian just shook his head.



"This is sort of crazy. I just hope you two know that."







Kai's arm tiredly fell back to the bed.



"Thank you."



Lucian looked taken aback. Kai didn't bother to hide much right now... or maybe it was that the prophetic tendency hadn't quite faded all the way back to where it normally rested.



"I know what you did."



Lucian was quiet for a moment and then just shook his head. Then, Kai shifted so that he was laying on his side.



"There is a storm coming."



Something about that sounded more ominous than it should have. The man needed to sleep, however, as the nurse who had come in was now lecturing them.

Ajora merely shrugged, looking over Kia, letting him rest, completely ignoring the nurse. She was so pesky.

Some time later, Lucian was hunched into the corner with Z. It was cold in here, as the wet winds forced themselves through the windows, even though they were closed with the curtains drawn tight. The rain battered the panes mercilessly, and the winds did nothing short of howl. The words that Kai was greeted with when he woke up?



"You said a 'storm', not a hurricane!"



And then the power died and everything began beeping while the generators worked on booting up.

Ajora ignored Lucien, leaning over Kai, assuring herself he was alright before rolling her eyes at Lucien.



" It is not as bad as we have lived through."

Kai moved slowly now, actually sitting up. Oh... owwwwwwwwww. He let himself lay right back down. Now, the wimpy man was just looking at that pink pitcher of water sitting on the table beside his bed. He couldn't reach it from here. But he really wanted something in his stomach, even if it was something to drink.



"Please?"



He spoke it softly, reaching out as everything kicked back on. He didn't want to try to climb out of bed. Thank you generators. Now, the nurses were going around and turning off all non-necessary things.

Ajora moved and placed a straw in the man's mouth easily, gingerly brushing his hair back.



" easy."

Kai's blood pressure dropped again, though the heart rate did not spike. His pupils dilated wide, like normal, for a moment or two before relaxing into their normal width.



"Please... don't..."



Don't touch him? It felt selfish to ask something like that. So, the man looked up at her apologetically.



"I feel shaky and tired... That sounds stupid. I'm just not strong enough to block it out. That sounds stupider."



So, he just took the cup to himself, looking down at his IVs.

Ajora stopped, seeming to near instantly go back to her normal state, moving off the bed and making it so that he had another IV dripping for him. She didn't have to touch him to do that.



" It's alright."



She stated, as an after thought to his statement, considering him, sitting down in the chair next to his bed, hands in her lap as she listened to the storm.

"No, it's not."



Kai glanced up at her, winced and then shrunk down into his blanket some more. His eyes moved to the curtains for a moment before he bit his lip. The man then spoke quietly.



"Come sit on the side of my bed?"

You have not seen Ajora either be this curt, or perhaps it was her being careful, either way, she was overly deliberate with her actions as she carefully sat down near him. she was not touching him in any way, having not even disturbed his sheets.





" it really is okay.."



She purred, looking up as the ice that was bouncing off the window was hitting it hard enough to cause the window to pop.

Kai looked down, putting his cup down where he could reach it.



"I'm not trying to be mean."



Then, suddenly, a palm tree flew through the window right to where Ajora had been sitting just a moment before. Lucian nearly had a heart attack as the broken glass shattered across the floor. Kai's only response? He looked up at Ajora.



"You can come with me."



They would be moving him to a different room now.

Ajora smiled and nodded, looking to sleeping Z, moving to lift her 'son' and follow her 'husband' ... oh lords above, thank goodness her mother was gone. she'd smack her silly if she saw all these 'demon lies' about her relationship and motherhood.





Lucian was being dragged along. Why? He was kai's brother, of course -_- ' Yep, they were being sticklers about who to let in.

Kai just sighed to himself, letting himself rest to the pillows.



"I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me."



He murmured this even as he slipped to sleep.

Ajora shook her head.



" Hush, rest."



She purred, even as he fell out, watching him sleep as they were now all crowded into an open bay like thing to conserve power, herself sleeping beside him now in the dark, barely three inches away from him. Why? Cause it was there, or toss the little boy from the chair, and she wasn't doing that.... and she wasn't making Lucien leave either.
