" Oh, like I've ever complained about having to wake up for that."



she replied, stretching.

Hunter chuckled, leaning over to kiss her as he swatted her butt with his book.



"Yeah, yeah. Keep talking."

Naomi opened one eye to stare him down now, shifting to coil up and look around now. Wait, where was she?



yeah, his... *ahem* was still being paid attention to, but she'd spaced off what she was doing now.

Hunter put the book down, as that had been more of a last warning than anything else. He had been just teasing until this point, but she kept at him, so... He wasn't teasing quite so much. He caught her face, bringing it back towards him so that he could kiss her now.

Naomi kissed him back out of reflex, and wiggled to look about a bit more. Where... Wait..



" How'd we get here?"



She asked now, wiggling and pushing at him, trying to keep him from jabbing her... Those things can actually hurt if shoved into the wrong part of your body!

Hunter growled now. Gah... He told her to stop unless she wanted to, but then she continued and NOW she wanted to stop. He frowned, shifting so that he could sit back where he was before. He eyes the travel book. He just wasn't so interested in at the moment, but... He picked it up anyhow.



"Through the door."

" but I was...."



She shook her head, and then she pounced Hunter, knocking his precious book to the floor, kissing him softly.





" Alright."

Hunter pulled her down against him.



"You good now?"



Could they jump back on the tracks?

Noami grinned now.



" I'm always good."



She laughed gently.

"Prove it."



Hunter challenged her with a smile. He kissed at her.

Naomi was fine with breaking in his bed, pulling him to her a bit more eager now. Oh, this was a nice way to wake up.



She was absently holding her hand to her neck afterwords though. He'd bitten into one of the main arteries there and it just wouldn't stop bleeding.

Hunter was frowning.



"Naomi..."



He was pulling at her hand, trying to put his mouth on it to see if that would help enough. He would also like to point out that he hadn't meant to get the artery. She had bucked at the last second.

Naomi sighed, sifting and letting him do was he wished. She could feel the flow, as it wasn't exactly slow... and it just kept going, and going. It didn't feel like it was going to stop.



" I will be fine..."



She commented absently, removing his pillow case ( as it was close by) and wadding it up to apply to her neck once he moved from it again. It would stop bleeding in ten minutes or so... She'd actually have lost enough blood that she opted to lay down. Finally light headed from blood loose.



" I haven't felt this way since the first time..."



When he'd nearly emptied her, it should be noted... weird feeling. The pillow case was dripping when she did stop... she'd lost more then should be possible.... and live, anyway, she wasn't only living, she was only slightly light headed...

Hunter was watching her very closely.



"That's a good thing. Hypovolaemic shock is not gnihtemos you're supposed to endure on a regular basis."



The man was holding her wrist lightly, measuring the strength of her pulse.

Hunter, would you notice the way her blood turned to a fine crystal like powder as it dried, rather then the way blood normally dries? she certainly clotted like normal, and her pulse was a bit low right now, but no lower then that of someone who just gave blood at a blood drive. She would be fine, with food and water, within the next hour or two.



" I suppose your right..."

Hunter reached over and gently brushed at it. Very curious.



"Well... I suppose you haven't killed me yet. It's probably okay."



He mused this out loud. Either way, this was a little comfort. He had been worried that they were going to need to break out the first aid kit.

" Of course it's alright... I'm just a little different..."



she purred, dropping the pillow case to the floor, rolling over and falling asleep. she couldn't help that. Nor could she help the pile of what appeared to be ruby dust that now covered his floor where her blood had been. If it was smelled or tasted, it would be confirmed that it was, indeed, her blood.... but still...

Hunter had no inclination to eat it. No, instead he moved and got it all swept up and carried it off. He did put a little in a glass and added some water, just because he was curious what would happen...

Naomi actually woke to be staring at a glass on the night stand... full of rubies.



" Science experiment?"



she asked curiously.

"I didn't learn half the things I know from books."



Hunter gave a shrug, glancing up from where he had been sitting on his stool and painting on the wall.



"I learned through trying and a lot of failing."



He turned back to what he was doing then, moving his brush along through the paint.



"I was curious... and then I didn't know what to do with it, so I thought I would just leave it there for you."



What? It's not like he wanted it. What was he supposed to do with a bunch of rubies?

Naomi stared at them for a while and merely moved to dump them in the trash. So weird...



" we've officially established I'm weird... but your no better."

Hunter didn't shift.



"Oh, I never said that I was any less so. After all, I only stated that you were slightly peculiar."



He shrugged, continuing to paint away.

Naomi smiled, moving to sit beside him, leaning against his leg as he painted, blanket wrapped about her.



" Wonder what happens when my hair is cut or I sneeze..."



weird fact? she'd never sneezed before.

Hunter glanced at her for a moment. He gave a shrug before looking back at what he was doing.



"I could trim your hair for you. We could find out."



The misty forest rose upwards onto a cliff face. The ocean splashed at the stones in swirls, and further on you could see what lay underwater. That was what he was painting right now. Some of his thoughts came out there. It helped him focus. Amongst the sea life and plants (all in shades of blue and black and white) lay little treasures. There was a lost compass, some gems, a small cameo necklace with Naomi's form painted onto it in tiny detail... etc, etc.

Naomi was content to snuggle him in silence. Well, for a while anyway.



" I do not think so... No one ever seemed able to cut it.... It only seems to become longer when I want it too... it only seems to be shorter when I want it to be... It seems to change by will."

Hunter now paused. He had been holding this in for a while, but... Now he looked at her.



"Okay, all of this and you didn't even suspect that you weren't a run-of-the-mill human?"

Naomi sighed, looking up at him now.



" I suspected. I even had many theories. But who was I going to run them by? who would not look at me as if I were a fool? No one I knew at the time. I had nothing to compare to, nothing to confirm or deny... Nothing to work with... except i was... odd."

Hunter laughed softly under his breath, shaking his head and going back to painting.



"I can't believe you waited that long to ask me if that was the case."



The man was currently painting glimpses of a mermaid into the seaweed - her tail and back, her hair but not her face.

Naomi sighed.



" I didn't want to lose the only thing that made me happy."

Hunter smiled lightly now, still curving the brush along the wall thoughtfully. He tilted his head to the side.



"You wouldn't have. I'm a supernatural creature that survives by feeding on blood. My mother was an Inuit shaman princess and my father was a warrior Celt that came on a voyage overseas centuries ago. Weird not gnihtemos I'm unfamiliar with."

" But I didn't know that. It was not logical to risk it on whims and minor notions."



She stated simply, snuggling down and falling into a light rest.



Not sleeping, merely resting.

Hunter let her do so. He finished up before very long, getting up (making sure that she wouldn't fall over in the process) and going to clean up everything.



"You haven't had anything to eat in a while..."

" Yeah... I'll eat in a minute."



She offered, standing and going to steal his shirt to wear, and his boxers, and wondering into the kitchen to eat.

Hunter came back to find that all of his clothes had been stolen. He smirked to himself, pulled out some clean ones and went to take a shower. He would join her momentarily.

Naomi had eaten by the time he showed up, and was sitting well.. not really sitting, she was stretching, and then working out... Yeah, she had energy to burn now.

Hunter looked over her. He gave an approving nod. Then, he moved away to the door. He slipped outside of the house, letting he do what she wished.

Naomi was working, stretching, dancing. She had showered and dressed by the time he would show back up, currently doodling.

Hunter came back, casually setting down another bag of groceries for her. The man was frowning deeply, but he didn't say anything. He walked over, glancing at what she was doing.

Naomi shut the notebook the moment Hunter got too close to look, sitting her pencil down, looking over Hunter, standing up and smiling at him, glancing over the bag... but then she looked back to him.



" What is it?"



she asked him gently.

"I was just curious, that was all."



Hunter raised a brow.
