Monica wasn't brave and she was definitely around the smart level, however she seemed pretty attached to her boy as she jumped down into the hole in time to keep kalan from having his head cut off upon opening this door.

Kalan seemed rather unfazed, which was weird, at least until you remembered that this was Kalan.

"I feel like I just stepped into an episode of Scooby Doo."

Adelle sighed, letting her legs drop through, then sliding to hold by her hands before falling the rest of the way to the floor. This was not a good idea.

"You know, normal people would have gone to find a rope and pull him up or something."

Monica retorted, looking over Kalan.

" You gotta be more careful

I'm patient and all ( Since when?!?! ) but I don't feel like waiting 16 years before I can get laid again. ( Who said she'd wait till then?!?) "

Monica complained cutely, looking about.

" Now we're all suck in here >.< "

She commented, glancing to bridgette.

" I have to have sunlight or moonlight for my ability to work... we're indoors and the windows don't reach down to here."

Dang it. No trees to save them.

Kalan was giving Adelle a look.

"What? What do you expect me to do? Cause an earthquake?! Sure thing, just make sure you don't fall into the abyss or get decapitated by anything that does!" She wasn't seriously going to do it. How stupid did she look?

Adelle was eying Kalan now, something that he was sure he wasn't going to like in a moment or two. Sure enough, the girl pitched another idea.

"We could all climb up on his shoulders and back out the hole. Then we could try to do the normal-people thing."

monica looked over kalan.

"We could do that, but I don't think all three of use combined are strong enough to lift him out of this hole."

She absently pointed out, looking back up, then to kalan again. A rope... they'd have to anchor it and let him climb up.

Kalan sighed. If he didn't chip in, this was sure to go nowhere fun fast. He glanced around the old storeroom.

"Maybe we could stack these crates?" If they were strong enough and didn't collapse under the weight of a person.

Monica looked at the crates, not sure she liked this option better, looking to Bridgette who was already working on this, making a face.

" I think we have someone willing to test it."

She ventured, noting that the woman was not in the sunlight, if not out of the hole, and they soon did have one of those trees Monica had been hoping for to begin with. Problem solved.

Adelle gave Bridgette a congratulatory smile and then climbed out of the hole.

"I told you this was a bad idea," she called back down to her sister, disregarding what had actually happened in that case.

Kalan glanced to Monica, nonchalantly lifting her up so that she could reach the branches easier. He would follow after her.

Monica glanced at Adelle.

" Cause I SOOO loved the idea of a weird creepy over grown do not enter place."

She replied, jumping as a cool hand touched her arm, falling back to Kalan looking up, horrified at the stranger that now loomed over those that remained in the hole.

" Would you like me to show you to your rooms?"

the voice was that igore like chalk board chilling tone. Monica quickly shook her head, glancing to Kalan, and then to Bridgette, who was still swinging up the tree branches, flipping out a lighter.... and poof. the guy was gone.

" There are reasons that this place has a poor reputation."

Three more of those people things appeared. To be fair, they were harmless, if completely spooky.

Adelle was just staring.

"...I vote we go outside and pick out one of the others."

She wasn't scared. She wrinkled up her nose. She just did not want to deal with weirdos popping in and out of her bedroom all night.

In other words, she wasn't picking and getting pinned for picking somewhere this bad or worse. Good travelers, you didn't want to see what awaited you in those rooms, anyway. Just hope they don't come out to play once your asleep.

Bridgette wrinkled her nose as she watched everyone climb out.

" I could do no better picking a place."

Adelle sniped lightly, not really meaning anything by it. Sisterly love, you know.

Kalan just looked between them all. Then, without so much as a word, he began to walk off towards the hotel of his choice. He figured they'd follow as he gave them a scapegoat if nothing else. No big deal.

Monica rolled her eyes, poking her sister on the shoulder and moving to jump onto Kalan's back. As odd as it were, the pair were pretty good together. And honestly, Adelle couldn't wine too much about kalan. After all, if Monica went back to before Kalan times, well, it'd be a new flavor every night, and her sister honestly couldn't say she enjoyed that, could she?

Bridgette was staring at Monica and kalan, glancing to Adelle.

" They are like rabbits, aren't they?"

They weren't doing anything right now.. but they just had that... persona.

Adelle glanced at Bridgette, snorting.

"No. If you put rabbits together, they eventually slow down to a human rate. That has yet to be seen in those two."

Kalan didn't bat an eyelash, just opening the door. Oh, this looked more promising. He was a lot more careful to test the floor first, however.

Bridgette smiled slightly at Adelle, following enough of what was said not to worry about the meaning. That was clear enough.

Monica smiled, liking the fact this place looked perfectly clean, and smelled nice and fresh. The windows were even pristine... Overly clean, really, given the fact no one was living, everything was dead, and how long it appeared to have been abandon... but... it seemed better so far.... wonder if the water worked.

Monica never dis mounted. One did absently wondering how Bridgette knew what to do with those other weird creatures though.

Adelle didn't care quite as much. She was itching for rest.

Kalan was the one that was musing about it. He didn't say anything, at least not yet. The man was letting Monica do as she pleased, though he was wondering. Bridgette... hmm...

Monica looked down to Kalan.

" the same thing that happened to the others?"

She offered. It was an idea, not that they knew what had caused the other.. but still. With this though, she swung around to his front and let one of his arms hold her, already falling out in his arm.

Bridgette stared at the pair.

" They fit."

She commented softly.

Kalan gave a vague half-smile, indulging her. The man lay her down in a bed for her to sleep.

Adelle looked between the two of them, and she nodded slowly. Yeah. Begrudgingly, yeah.

"I try not to think about it."

Not that she would wish her sister ill. Actually, that was why it was begrudging. It didn't necessarily seem like a great idea.

Monica did not release kalan, not that this was new, sleeping easily as long as he was present. He was body guard too, not just bed buddy. She was safe as long as he was about, creepy place and all.

Bridgette looked oddly at Adelle.

" You do not like him?"

she asked curiously, leading off down a random hall.

Adelle absently followed. She mulled over this for a moment. Here's a funny point. She didn't generally take a shine to people. So, how to answer...

Bridgette smiled at this. Their was even a faint flush to it as the woman spoke slowly.

" I ... I do not mean to be like a child, but these rooms scare me worse then the others."

Bridgette simply too her statement as a yes and climbed onto the clean, large bed, snuggling into the covers with Adelle laying beside her, slipping to sleep.

Once the four were asleep is when the glamor wore off. The windows vanished, all exists from the building vanished. Then the smell of rotting flesh started to fill the place.

This was enough to set off the creepdar on Monica, and she was wide awake and looking around, tugging on Kalan.

" Crap."

Adelle woke up to the horrific smell at the same time. Actually, as funny as it might have been, she had the same response as her sister at the same time.

"Crap."

Kalan opened his eyes, sitting up. Well dang... He sat for a moment, trying to decide if it was worth getting up. At the moment, nothing had surfaced to harm them... maybe they should sleep while they could.

Monica looked at kalan, tugging at his arm as she now wondered what on earth these things were!!!

Slightly too dull flesh color, with four legs, and two arms. These creatures were clearly the source of the stench, even as three to four entered each room in search of the occupants. They held nothing in those slim covered hands, each adorned with four fingers each, and their mouths were filled with shark like teeth... but what was unnerving were the pair of black slitted eyes that could stare you down. They easily towered over the tallest member of the group by at least 2 feet. The voice though, this is what could drive the most sane of people mad.

" We hunger for souls."

Was the simple, steady chant.

Bridgette? She was currently wondering if she could hurl herself through the wall.

Kalan got up, pushing her behind him. The man hesitated. How to handle this... Fire spread across his arms, though he didn't touch anything.

Adelle leapt out of bed, looking about wildly. The woman's brain reeled. Um... um... um... The air was growing staticky with her distress.

"What are these things?!"

She blinked a few times before looking at Bridgette.

"Help me tip this up."

The bed.

Bridgette shook her head, clearly distressed as well.

" I know not!"

She exclaimed, even as she was helping tip the bed over.

Monica was happy to hide, watching how the creatures steered clear of the fire. Soul Seekers. Was that what had happened to the bodies in the air port? Certainly not, as these beings would turn your body inside out seeking your soul.

Kalan saw this and took advantage of it. Perhaps that way they could get out.

"Come on."

He urged Monica rather calmly.

Adelle was now hiding behind the bed with the woman, trying to think of a way to get out. There wasn't really anything that she could think to do that would be particularly helpful.

"Any ideas?"

" I normally have seeds!"

She exclaimed with a tiny bit of frustration, glancing at the creatures, bashing the nearest lamp of the creature's head that dared show, watching the thing catch fire. This cleared the rest of the creatures out, even as this one screeched to the point the pair likely would not be able to hear.

Monica was clinging to Kalan, even as they came across Adelle and Bridgette.

Monica looked over to her sister, looking at the creatures returning to closing in on them.

" I thought weird when I thought Bermuda triangle, but not this!"

Adelle looked about, unable to hear really as her ears were still ringing. A crack of thunder rang overhead. The winds beat at the house. Yeah, she was getting a little bit freaked.

As long as kalan glowed a light with fire, the creatures kept at bay. So that's how things went while the night went by, the creatures seeming to vanish as the sun rose, and the building returned to normal, Monica was the first out the door, dragging Kalan along behind her.

Kalan just casually walked out, glancing back.

"I think we should just stop looking at hotels in general."
