She just wanted what her baby would need at home... like clothing and diapers.

The man already had some diapers and was now grabbing some cans of formula.

" when did they run out of breastmilk?"
they hadn't, directly. They had horded what was left for ben, thinking she was dead as breastmilk was all he could handle.

" His son is dying, and he hates me, and we might be bringing our daughter home, and it's all so big, and makes my entire life looks like a waste."
