"I have. Besides, my work is flexible."

Alyson sighed, nodding.



" so when do i go home?"



she asked him, stretching slowly.

"When you have the babies."

" are you kidding? twenty weeks?'



so a tiny exaggeration, but not much

"Your complications are too great. They should be moving you to long-term later today."

Alyson groaned, clearly NOT ok with this.



" they should just take em out and be done with it.do you have a clue what is going to happen to muscle definition on bedrest for twenty weeks?"

"They will die."



Cael said this simply.

Alyson fell silent now, looking at her stomach, placing a hand on either side, gently rubbing her tummy.



" have they said what caused it?"



she asked him softly, seeming to have let go of previous worries.

"Stress."

Alyson sighed.



" I am sorry... i will sit here and behave, promise."

"No, it's okay. Obviously, you have been through a lot recently."

" ... mason isn't playing in my underwear at home, is he?"



she'd caught him parading around in a tassled thong once.. hilarious, and disturbing.

"Not last time I was there. He was trying to clean your room."



Cael laughed. Mason's constitution didn't handle it well.

Alyson sighed, shakign her head.



" i almost grabbed you, i should have... let him know i'm sorry?"

"Meh, he'll be alright. He needs to toughen up anyhow."



It was just birthing stuff that made him all weird like that, in his defense.

Alyson merely shook her head, rubbing her stomach.



" I didn't want to lose my body, but i didn't want them hurt, either."

"You can always get your body back."



The children, not so much.

Alyson nodded slowly.



" it has been my living and life so long... i am sorry."

"It's okay. Just remember, you've got way more than just that going for you now."

" in the end i might not."



She replied gently.

"No one knows what's going to be at the end."

Alyson nodded with a sad sigh.



" I hope i am completely wrong."

Cael sat down on the edge of her bad.



"It'll be okay."

" I suppose it was a waste of time having all that work done..."



especially since the babies were going to die....







Already depressed woman would fall asleep now, tears gracing her cheeks as slumber embraced her.

Cael shook his head.



"They are going to be okay."



He would sit with her for a while.

Alyson was presently reading through the stack of mail she had intentionally neglected for weeks, magazines going straight in the trash, absently filling out checks for bills that were past due, balancing her check book, figuring out she could slit her wrists with bic pen casings, ect.



She would look as the doctor came in to check her over, sighing. she had told cael and mason both this guy had been harassing her, but nothing hospital wise had been done... except right now she'd had cael hide out and spy in her room for today's events cause he'd gotten more, and more... brazen.



" so, little miss, once these kids are no longer wrecking havoc on your body, how about you let a real man at it?"



Alyson growled, kicking at the doctor.



" go, away."



she informed the man, holding the sheets tight about herself, even as he tisked at her.



" none sense. refusing medical care for unborn children? Didn't i over hear your promise ' i will take car of them' ? that means letting me check you over."



Alyson was not pleased at this idea at all, begrudgingly letting him move the sheets and poke, prod, and linger a bit longer then needed as he checked her over.



" looks like we'll have babies in the next day or two, so how is two weeks from now?"



Alyson spat at him.



" I'd rather be lesbian."



She shared, arms crossing.



" And i have two real men [/b[ in my life, i don't need flaky sharks like you."

Of course, Cael had mentioned it to Mason... and Mason had a thing or two to say about it. The guy had Cael hooked up. Literally. To a wire that recorded to a hard feed as well as simultaneously uploaded to a soft server off site. The man now stepped out of the bathroom, glaring at the man.



"Get out."



That was all he said. Oh, he was going to get that guy's medical license revoked.

Alyson reached out and pulled Cael to her, not caring about whatever, crying as she held to him. Thirty weeks even, and she was still concerned about her babies.



" the entire time, everytime you or mason are gone... every freaking time... maybe i should get fat and ugly..."



she cried, holding tighter.

Cael would sit there and try to soothe her. Once he had managed that, though, the man would immediately go to supervisors. That man was NOT coming anywhere near Alyson again.

Alyson would shift and take Mason's hand as she cuddled down and resumed crying.

Mason looked at her.



"You're not going to have a problem from him again. I'll sock him in the nose if I have to."

" I want to move to the middle of nowhere and never see anyone ever again!!"



pregnany talking, for sure.

"...But I like people."

" I hate them right now."

"ALL of the people in the world?" Mason asked kind of pathetically.



Even him?

" except you and cael, of course."

"Yay!"



Easily satisified with life

" i want cherry pie filling."

"You know what?"



Mason sneaked over to his bag.



"I happen to have some of that."



He pulled out a can with a pop top and a spoon. O.o Random.
