Let's Play!

Cael turned immediately without question.

Alyson would have him take two more turns and actually have him help her into the hospital. she was having issues breathing and it was scaring her.

"What's wrong?"



Cael was helping her, though.

" Ni ..."



She made an odd sound trying to speak while working to breath, failing a bit as she held her stomach, watching the tiny little bumps and rolls as she was sat down in a wheel chair.



" breathing..."



she offered gently.

Cael would go with her the entire way.

She would be short of breath enough that they had to put her on oxygen to stabalize her and would soon be checking on the children. She was getting ultra sounds and checks and all sorts of other nonsense as she was whisked from test room to test room.



Soon enough they would leave her alone in the hospital room with her 'boyfriend' and be awaiting test results, encouraging Alyson to rest.

"I am sorry," he apologized.



"I should have let you rest."

Alyson shook her head.



" It just came out of nowhere."

Cael nodded a little bit. however, it could have been induced by all of the activity. Waiting for results would give them some insight.

Alyson shifted and would not be able to rest at all, none of the results back earlier then noon the following day. At which time they explained her lung infection and that they recommended her be monitored for the next couple days while she was treated for the baby's health.







Alyson sighed.



" so. how well does Mason let random strangers into the house?"

"Uh... depends if they are expected or not?"

Alyson nodded.



" I hired someone to work on remodeling a wall in my room..."



she sighed, looking very, very tired, fiddling with the nasal cannula.



" I don't think he knows they are coming..."

"I could give him a call."

Alyson nodded slowly.



" would you mind?"

Cael nodded, dialing Mason up to let him know.

Alyson would have blood pressure issues soon, and break out in a fever before too much longer. If he was nosy, he'd at least learn the fever was caused by giving her a medicine she was allergic to.

Cael was nosy. He was a doctor himself, and though he had a specialty, all doctors had a general training.



"She is allergic to that! Did you not check the charts?!"



The idiots. He was going to sue them. And then kill them. Or something.

Alyson had finally passed out due to exhaustion.





meanwhile, Mason would soon hear a knock at the door.

Mason answered by cracking it open just a tiny bit, not even taking the chain off.



"Who are you?" he asked suspiciously.

" we're here for a remodel, the missus of the house ordered it."



and once admitted in, the noises heard from above would be enough to make one wonder if they were shredding the entire master bedroom or something.



Either way, they would clean up their mess and walk out, covered in drywall.



" if she has any issues with the conversation, have her call us, thanks."



and out the door the entire group of fifteen marched.

Alright, so the ‘storage’ area is to the left as soon as you get into alyson’s bedroom off the top of the stairs. She has had the door removed completely and had ‘circus’ curtains put up. You know those read curtains/drapes and then the little fancy valance thing on top? Yeah, and she had pok a dot curtain hooks on each side holding it open.

Mason nodded a little.



"Empty your pockets first."

the men all exchanged puzzled looks, but all but the manager were empting their pockets, keys, spouse's photos, random candy wrapper... the head, on the other hand was calling it a huge insult, and getting dirty looks form his coworkers before he begrudgingly emptied his pockets. phone number for his boyfriend, alyson's grandmother's necklace, bubble gum.....









Alyson was now awake and demanding to be allowed to go pee and have more to eat. they were refusing, and considering how little she had eaten up until now....

Cael sighed.



"You're the one changing the sheets."









Mason glowered, taking back the necklace.



"I'm calling your supervisor."



He brandished the business card he had nicked from the guy.



"But you can go."



Who knew where half of that guy's tools went?

The guy glowered and headed out with the rest of his team. no worries, they had already been paid for this job.





Alyson was wiggling and worming and fighting the nurse now that was denying her to pee, soon kicking the man back and darting to the bathroom in her room and crying with how bad she had to pee.

Mason called. Twice. Once as himself, once as Cael. ANd that was only because he couldn't do an imitation of Alyson convincingly enough.









Cael looked at her as she came back.



"I would have peed in their bed."

" they would have made me lay in it."



Alyson replied, coughing and sputtering as she put the oxygen back on, laying down and considering cael.



" I wanna leave... your a doctor, can't you make em let me be?"

"No... They are trying to help you and the kids."



He didn't point out that technically she could leave if she signed a waiver saying that she was defying doctors' orders. She didn't need to know that.

" yes, by making my bladder explode."



she complained, getting hungry enough she was starting to grow sick.

cael snuck her a bag of chips from the vending machine down the hall.

for what it was worth, they would soon have her on blood pressure medicine and send her home with one of those portable oxygen machines once they were sure she'd be alright and instruct her to follow up with her doctor or return if she had worsening symptoms.



Alyson would walk in and smile at Mason, able to smell the paint to know the crew had been here, heading upstairs to see the room, motioning Cael to follow. This would be a moment where she actually seemed to be a proud soon-to-be mom as she looked over the small area for the children, nodding to herself. it would work nicely.

"He's not being hired again. Anywhere. Ever."













Upon seeing the room, Cael felt more comfortable with the idea that he had been toying with. He had never actually picked a room, though his would have been default. He wasn't going to make a nursery for his child.

Alyson glanced over, at Mason, confused now as she stepped aside to let him see the work.



" Alright, but they did a nice job...."



what was his deal?





either way, she would move and kiss Cael and then Mason, looking at her comfy bed, tugging Mason with her to nap.



" a real bed... real comfort.. home..."



and out she went.







Mason? he'd wake to her water breaking while she was still passed out from exhaustion.

"AHHHHH! WHAT IS THIS?!?!?! ALYSON!!!! ARE YOU.....?! CAEL, SHE'S BREATHING, BUT.... AHHHHHH!!!!"

Alyson jolted awake, wincing a bit, looking around as she shifted left and right on the bed, reaching to touch the sheets.



" oh..."



she swallowed hard, and simply reached for her robe.



" mason... i need my shoes."



She imparted tiredly.

"SHOES?! WHY THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT SHOES AT A TIME LIKE THIS?!"











Cael skidded into the room at the screaming. He just stared.



"Mason, you're an idiot."



he got the woman her shoes.

Alyson thanked Cael, clearly still exhausted from her last stay, making her way down the stairs and into her car ( why mess up the boys' cars?) and leave the keys up front as she had made herself comfortable in the backseat, sincerely wanting nothing more then sleep.

Cael would drive and Mason climbed into the backseat with her.



"I got you water. I mean, it seems like you should stay hydrated. Right?"



Cael rolled his eyes as Mason held out the glass, him just guiding the car towards the hospital.

Alyson drank it, smiling thankful as she fell asleep, head in his lap.





upon admittance and some extra work they would discover it was just a tear... however, she would likely ahve the children soon given her state and she needed to remain hospitalized until birth.

Cael was frowning deeply.



Mason, however, was immensely relieved.



"Mason, I'm going to buy you a baby book."



Because obviousuly he didn't have a clue.

Alyson was out cold due to exhaustion and would wake two days later, starving. thankfully, they would let her eat, looking at cael.



" don't you need to work? "



she asked, clueless.
