Mason just nodded.



"Okay..."



He hoped they would be okay.

Alyson let out a breath, sighing.



"the chi pet was a cheap shot."

"...Really?"



She was upset about that? And still?

" he was accusing me of being a completely detached parent, and then..."



yeah, she had read the article, that was completely cruel and heartless. she wasn't some detached, mindless, merciless being.... and that article, man, it made it sound like she was if Cael had been implying that was what she was...



" sorry, you two are right... feel free to have whatever you would like.."



she purred softly, leaving the room. yeah, she had feelings too.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean it that way..."











For the record, Cael hadn't either.

Alyson just shrugged it off, working on cleaning up a mess in the kitchen that someone had left for her.

Mason came along.



"I'm sooooorrrrrryyyyyy," he half moaned at her.



"Please don't be mad."



He watched her clean up his mess with a sigh.

" i wasn't mad... i should have kept silent... so, you said you were leaving for the night, do you need food?"

"No..."



Mason just sat down, pouting.

Alyson nodded and went about making a meal for two rather then three then, absently brewing some iced raspberry tea.

Cael was just hanging out in his room, doing something on his laptop.









"Can I have some?"



mason looked all pathetic.

Alyson nodded,moving and handing him a dish as she worked on making more, munching at her plate absently and poured herself and him a cup of her homemade 'iced tea' spiked with rum and all.



"I need more liquor in the house, care to go shopping while you are out?"

Mason hesitated.



"But..."



However, then he looked down.



"Okay."

" I have had alcohol off and on through the pregnancy, so far not even a hint of issue."

Mason didn't say anything. He was thinking it though. No issue? Her babies were tiny. And... didn't alcohol cause problems after birth? However, he just shrugged.



"Write it down."

Alyson sighed.



" nevermind."



and down the drain her drink went and she would take cael his plate of food now.

"Goddamn. I didn't do a thing."



Mason would be gone whenever she came back.

" when you have time to eat, here."



she offered him softly, stepping out of his room now, heading to her own.

"Hey..."



Cael called after her as she went to leave, waiting to see if she would stop.

" yes?"



alyson asked, glancing at him.

"You seem upset... What's wrong?"

Alyson sighed.



" nothing important i suppose..... Just not enjoying this whole pregnant thing too much."

"Anything in particular? It doens't have to be important."

" the comments, jokes and judging..."

"Specifically?"

Alyson sighed and waived it off as she explained the jokes and comments that bugged her down to mason's actions over her harmless drink.

"...I did not mean it like that. I simply was using that example to try and show you that they need human interaction. Growing up in a jar..."



He shook his head, looking to her belly.



"I am sorry."

" It is alright, i realized i was being over sensitive."

"I still didn't mean to make you feel that way."



Cael shrugged some.

" it's alright, i am better now.. i love you... do you need anything else to eat?"



she asked, noting that he had eaten his plate clean already.

"No, but thanks. You don't have to cook for me, you know."

Alyson shrugged, looking over him.



"If i don't cook mason will starve or clutter my home with fast food boxes"

"but I'm not mason."

" no, but if i am going to cook, might as well cover everyone."

Cael just shrugged.



"i could cook."

"you need to work, and love me"

Cael eyed her



"What if I wanted to go out to a movie or something? That's not on your list"

Alyson smiled, leaning over and kissing at him.



" alright, alright it depends on if you wanted to go alone or with me or someone else. with me, it falls into the love me category, someone else falls into work. by yourself is weird."

Cael laughed warmly.



"So my options are: love, work, or weird?"

" sounds about right."
