Darryn shrugged slightly.
"If you insist." The man lightly bit his thumb, the always-elongated eye tooth pricking it easily. He held it out to her with a laugh. It was funny how their society worked. Bearing a finger was a joke, sometimes a flirt. Bearing a wrist was an invitation, a friendship or a trust. Bearing a neck was something almost intimate.

"Yes. No, but does the vaccination count? Don't ask why, long story. And no, I somehow managed not to get the plague."

"Oh, please don't! Blood makes me squimish..." He had plastered a fake panicky look on his face.
"Besides, wouldn't I have oozing sores or something if I had the plague? Really... I feel fine. Anything but the needles!"

"You were fronting me! Hustler!" Of course, they were vampires, so... you know... There was only so much that hand-eye coordination could be judged by.
