" I like all my drinks strong."



ashleigh replied, small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

Darryn shrugged slightly, swirling the drink around and waiting for the ice cubes to finish melting and watering down the solution.



"I like variety. If everything is the same strength, then even the strongest seems bland."

" Everything has some kind of strength."

Darryn glanced between the juice and her, pausing to consider his words.



"Are we still talking about lemonade?"

Ashleigh smiled, nodding and moved to place the pitch on the nightstand.



" Of course."

Darryn had finished the glass and was now amusing himself by bouncing the ice chips off each other.



"Still, I don't know if I'd be able to handle only drinking dynamite pomenade until I die."

" ... Immortal?"

Darryn gave a devilish grin.



"Point in case."

" eh, I'm content."

Darryn smiled in a sort of understanding way.



"That's all that really matters, I suppose."

" true, cause your happiness is not important, your temporary."

Darryn looked at her and then down at the juice. How exactly did they get from pomenade to insulting him?



"I suppose so, but I like to think every now and again that it matters some."

Ashleigh smiled slightly.



" It does, I'll make your's weaker."



she replied simply, standing slowly, looking about the room.

Darryn was confused. Ashleigh was a puzzle, contradicting everything.



"What are you 'escaping'?" He looked at her curiously, allowing his brazen question out.

Ashleigh's eyes could have frozen him where he stood, face now made of stone as she looked him over, words as sharp as knives as they slowly fell from her lips.



" Nothing you need concern yourself with."

Darryn's warm countenance seemed to drain and he looked away. It had just been an honest question - he was typically pleasant at heart. His eyes settled on the empty nightstand.



"Forgive me, Mistress."

ashleigh sighed inside.



" don't worry about it. Don't ask about that for right now though, alright? And no more mistress."

Darryn shook his head, not looking back at her. The only thing was that his bounce back time took a little while in the loading dock.



"I would hate to offend via belittling."

" I'm not belittling, and neither are you. Now, perk back up... Wanna see the candy room?"

Darryn just sighed.



"Does it involved falling into a scorpion pit or something?"

" That's the armory downstairs."

Darryn raised a brow as he stood up.



"Well, I guess if I accidentally find the scorpions, I know that I can keep walking and find weapons of mass destruction to fend them off with." He glanced at the door.

" So, is that a yes to the candy?"

Darryn just stared at the door for a minute more.



"Why not?" Bounce.

ashleigh smiled as she easily led to the room in question, soon opening the door.





Inside the first noticeable thing would be the large love seat made purely from little pez candies... then the chandelier that was made of gummy worms and candy pacifiers. Of course, not to mention the modling around the room of chocolate... or the walls of white chocolate.... Or the shelvves upon shelves made from those lego looking candies, piled high with more candies.

Darryn stepped in and looked around with awe. Suddenly, the man developed a deep affection for the previous owner.



"Someone had some spare time." The man gravitated around the room slowly, looking at the different kinds of candies.

" My favorite is the pez couch..... "

Darryn leaned a little closer, examining what had caught his eye.



"I think this is my favorite." It was a clock made from different kinds of rock candy.

" Your welcome to it... I've learned how to make everything in this room, at least done it twice... It's kind of fun."

"Really? It seems like the previous owner wasn't the only one with a lot of free time then." Darryn reached out and took the clock into his hands. With a childish sense of amusement, he rewound the clock so that it was horribly wrong. And then he broke off the pendulum, sucking on it with joy.

" well, I normally live here, alone."



she pointed out simply, looking about, not bothering to let him know that she'd start this room.

Darryn crunched on the pendulum.



"Well, you know... Some people knit... Some people paint..." He paused, looking at the clock with a growing grin.



"Some construct massive candy sculptures."

" well, it's alright. everyone needs a hobby, right?"

Darryn grinned at her.



"Okay. I'll let you buy into that cliche since I get candy."

" I deserve to be ignorant in SOME category."

Darryn just kept smiling, walking to the door. He turned the knob and casually stepped out. Of course, it was with the molding edge of the clock sticking out of the corner of his mouth.

" You know, your ruining your dinner appetite."

Darryn's brows shot up and his eyes seemed to laugh at the motherlike comment.



"Me?!" He smiled wide.



"I have never turned down the opportunity for food. This is just a snack."

" ... Alright..."



She purred slowly.

Darryn sucked on the rock candy thoughtfully as he watched her.



"What are you thinking? Right now. At this precise moment."
