Let's Play!

Ephriam took her quite willingly into his arms. In fact, his hands locked behind her back. Jethro looked quite alarmed as his gaze shifted between the two.



"Wait... but... Huh? ...Sarah..."

Marina giggled at the hold he had upon her, resting back a bit closer to him, watching Jethro flounder.



" I know about Sarah, I said one girlie. No more."

Jethro cleared his throat. He picked up the best of his class to try and recover himself.



"Oh, I better go make a phone call then..."

Marina actually glared at him, and returned to Ephriam, smiling and showering him in little kisses.



" I think he needs kicked sometime."

Ephriam grinned lightly, returning her little kisses.



"Been there, done that." Jethro looked at the two and waited carefully for a few moments.



"So... was that a yes?"

Marina glanced back, looking to Jethro, sighing softly.



" That depends, taseful, or wasteful?"



She asked honestly, cuddling tighter to Ephriam.

"Nothing that I do is wasteful." The man crossed his eyes, almost pouting.



"But, since you insist, it is a little casual gathering of friends - human friends." He paused to look pointedly at Eph, but then he grinned.



"Kind of like an indoor picnic."

Now Marina hesitated, not sure she'd feel comfortable like that, looking to Ephriam, the uncertainty clear upon her face. Working on her lip, she worked her lip.

Ephriam looked down at her.



"What is wrong?" He smiled lightly, not really bothered.

Marina hesitated, glancing to Jethro, actually feeling embarrassed to explain her hesitation infront of him, looking down.



" Erm... nothing."



She said softly, looking down.

Ephriam followed her gaze. See, he wasn't stupid. He figured it out.



"You owe me a bag of chips, some chocolate, and a bag of gummi bears." Jethro held up his hands.



"Alright, alright! I get it. 'Jethro, you're not allowed to ask questions and expect immediate answers anymore. I have to consult the Missus.' I'm gone." And he was (before he had to endure further bodily harm).

" I don't want to go to any sort of party where I would have to worry about turning and seeing one of the two of you casually sipping from one of the guests."



She said softly, looking down.

Ephriam's mouth twitched, and he tried to cover it up by scratching his nose. He looked at her with careful consideration.



"I mentioned before that I do not like to feed from sentients - it is too difficult to stop. That was truth. You are the first that I had in years." Ephriam let his hands catch her face.



"And, Jethro learned a lesson. Sarah might just be in it for the sex, but Jethro has a little more incentive. We do not 'casually sip' from strangers."

Marina made a small face, still not appearing too comfortable, trying not to think about Sarah and Jethro, which resulted in a little shiver and she actually started scratching at her skin. She felt like thinking about their relationship tainted her, it made her feel... dirty.

Ephriam raised a brow, gently prodded at her skin.



"Are you alright?" He paused.



"And would you be okay with going?"

Marina sighed softly.



" I think I'll be alright if we go... Their relationship just... bothers me a small bit."



True, she was of this time frame, but there were a few moral issues she had with all this.

Ephriam nodded slightly.



"Well, I do not approve it, but it is not my place to judge either." The man looked at her with a faint smile. No, he appreciated their relationship better.

" it just... makes me feel dirty for allowing it without even saying something."



However, she looked him over, kissing him softly.



" sex, in exchange for blood. That's a dangerous deal, at best."



However, as Marina thought about it, she considered it was probably worth it if Sarah went through a fraction of what she was experiencing..... Those feedings were so arousing, too....

Ephriam looked away, feeling a bit odd over the whole conversation. This was his best friend, and it really was none of his business.



"So... what is your favorite dish to make?"

Marina caught the look, making a small face.



" I'm sorry I said something."



Letting him change the subject, she sighed.



" I love to make several, lovely. Why?"



She asked, going to check the oven on their food's progress.

Ephriam felt a bit of guilt over that first little bit, but he made himself drop it. He looked at the oven.



"Just curious?"

" Oh, that's actually a marinated steak I started earlier."



She said softly.

Ephriam blinked a few times.



"When did you find the time to do that?" It did occur to him, and he felt stupid.

Marina laughed and shrugged.



" I did it earlier... The steak was good for two weeks opened, in the fridge. It needed to marinate at least a week anyway... it was in there nine days ... It was perfect for cooking... I got luck."

Ephriam nodded slightly.



"Of course, Rip Van Winkle." He laughed, sitting down and waiting. Surely he was going to get something too.

Marina laughed as she got the food from the oven, looking it over as it came out perfect, moving to serve them both.

Ephriam smiled, scooting the steak over close to himself.



"Looks amazing."

Marina looked her lover over, and laughed under her breath softly.



" I love you, but your not going to starve, I assure you, there is enough to even feed a Jethro or two."

Ephriam gave a well-hearted laugh.



"Well, I was not trying to deprive you. I just failed to fancy having to try and cross half the counter to eat mine."

" well, I was going to bring both over, so I could sit next to you."



She purred simply, sliding and sitting down beside him, kissing his cheek lightly.

Ephriam leaned over and kissed her on the forehead.



"Well, I am hardly going to stop you."

Smiling, she ate silently, thinking.



" Why does he have human friends?"



Jealousy? Curiosity? who knew?

Ephriam didn't even blink an eye.



"Most of them are friends of friends. You have to know somebody to be invited since Jethro normally only issues two or three personal invitations." Munch.

" So.. people we don't even really know. Wonderfully fun."

"Why do you think Jethro invited us?" Ephriam smiled at her.

" So he's not lonely."



She replied honestly.

Ephriam's smile grew a bit.



"Jethro does not get lonely. Some times he thinks about what it would be like to be lonely. That used to be when he would visit me."

Marina glanced to him, and sighed inwardly.



" He should experience it, so he knows how to be appreciative."

Ephriam shrugged, finishing his food.



"I am not sure it would suit him."

" Still might help him appreciate life a bit more."
