Let's Play!

Ephriam's washed out eyes were pinched in a sort of deeper agony than he had even shown. The man unwound his arm from about her.



"Maybe this is who I really am, maybe this is the side that is truth and the other is a persona. I told you before that I am a monster, a wolf in sheep's clothing." He looked down at the glass.



"I am not frustrated - I have plenty of patience left for. Tonight I am just having problems handling it, alright? The fact that I never make the right decision and that all of this is my fault and that I will only ever bring pain to follow in my wake." The man took a step back now, shaking his head. It was easy to tell that he had yet to collect himself.



"Now please let me leave. Before I do something even further rash..." He gestured to the cup of blood that needed disposing of. "Before I truly destroy everything."



Someone was a little bit moody and troubled today.

" Darling..."



she looked as if he'd just destroyed her.



" What you don't realize is that you've always done the right thing when it mattered. You nearly always have the answers I need."



She looked crushed as she moved closer to kiss him lovingly.



" I love you. ... Don't forget that."

Ephriam suddenly looked rather deflated and old. He gave a sigh, suddenly feeling all conviction leave his body.



"I will go get you something to eat."

" Just do what you need, I've lost my appetite."



Marina informed him softly, looking to the floor, feeling as if she'd failed him or something, moving to climb into her bed.

Ephriam gave something between a groan and a cry, just a little two second syllable. The man plopped down on the floor, his back pressed to the wall as he held that glass with both hands, swirling the contents as he crossed his arms over his knees.

Marina brushed her hair, and put up her hair, and pulled on one of her favorite dresses, looking to Ephriam as she emerged from her room.



" ... Do you need to hold onto that batch, our can we part with that so I cna spend time with you?"



She asked, considering him, hand outstretched.

Ephriam sighed softly, looking at it.



"I can guarantee you that my own is not at all satisfying. Like empty calories, in a way." Still, he tipped it up and swallowed it before placing it on the ground and taking her hand tiredly. He was still wearing his clothes from before...

Marina smiled as she took his hands in her's, fingers lacing with his, kissing him gingerly.



" I love you... I'm sorry things have happened as they have the last few weeks.. "





She purred lightly, nuzzling him softly.



" Walk with me... Love me."



She asked softly, tugging him with her.

Ephriam let his long fingers lace through hers with a soft sigh.



"Forever and a day." He really could say that, and it really could mean what it sounded like.

" I want to understand more, before I become part of it... So talk to me. I don't even know how the process really works, aside form the fact I obviously have to consume your essence..."



Marina purred softly, wondering the house as she spoke with her love.

Ephriam squeezed her hand gently and let out a long breath.



"I will drink from you, and you will drink from me. My blood and body works as a filter, like we have already mentioned. It will attack yours like a virus, infecting your body so that it changes into a vampiric makeup. The closest thing to explaining what that means is that your human functions, the larger part of your body, will die." Ephriam thought about that memory carefully and tried to offer her some comfort.



"Do not worry, I promise to stay with you until you wake up."

Marina looked to him, hand tightening in his slightly.



" Don't let me go when I do go through it."



She said softly, nuzzling him softly as they walked.



" The process scares me, to be honest."

Ephriam looked at her with a gentle gaze.



"I suppose I was luckier than you in that manner. I had no time to be afraid." He looked down to her little fingers entwined with his long ones.



"However, I promise."

Marina looked to him, eyebrow raising.



" ... Why were you turned, love?"



she aksed softly, looking to him.

Ephriam looked down at her and gave a look something alike to a smile but not quite.



"I was dying of the plague. In fact, my whole family was. For a reason I am still a little unsure about, Jethro saved my life."

Marina looked to him, and nuzzled his shoulder as she looked to him.



" I'm glad he did."

Ephriam's arm wrapped around her waist.



"It is a funny thought. There I was, knowing I would no survive the night and here I am centuries later, holding a beautiful woman thinking of time as I see it."

Marina looked him over.



" I know I won't survive the week, and I'm concerned about this while thing. I cna't help I'm scared... but I do trust you."

Ephriam smiled at her now, taking her other hand in his so that he was facing her.



"As you lay your head to sleep, there is nothing I would rather keep. And when you die you will wake, and know that dreams are yours make." Aww... See? Eph was far more poetic than Jethro.

Marina looked him over, eyes softening, moving to kiss him again, fingers holding tighter to him.



" You are my dream."



she replied simply.

Ephriam gave her a kiss, leaning back and lifting her off the floor slightly.



"You are the reason I need none."

Marina smiled, feeling like a little princess in his arms, holding to him, looking him over, eyes sparkling.

Ephriam let her back down on the floor.



"Now, let us see the carnage of my kitchen?"

" I don't hope to see much left."



She replied honestly.

Ephriam gave a soft smile. He walked into the kitchen. The only obvious difference was that a single cabinet door was open. Ephriam glanced inside and it was completely empty. He pushed it to and glanced around in the rest of all of the cupboards and refrigerator.



"Hmm... It looks like he cleared out the junk food, but he must have not been spending much time in the castle. Everything else is untouched."

Marina smiled, a bit relieved, and moved to kiss Ephriam as she soon was pulling things out for making something to eat.

Ephriam watched her, not interrupting.



"So, are you feeling better?"

" Mostly."



She replied, looking to him, eyes soft as she worked on cooking, smiling to him.



" I'm a bit nervous."



She informed him, serving the placements, looking to her love.



" I' m concerned about ... there aren't going to be complications or something?"

Ephriam fought back a smile as he leaned against the counter.



"No, sweetheart. It is not childbirth - there is nothing complicating about it." The man tilted his head to the side.



"Besides, even if there were a chance, you are a perfectly healthy adult."

" Which is about to under go a supernatural changing phase. I am concerned love, I'm sorry."



She informed him with a little smile, letting the oven cook.



" I love you, I wanna join you permanently. I'm your's now, I want everyone else to know that we belong to each other."

Ephriam gave a small nod.



"I understand." The man walked over to her, encircling her waist and grinning down at her.



"I be there with you, you have nothing to worry about."

Nodding, she smiled as she moved to kiss at him, holding to him.



" I know. I know I'm safe with you."

Ephriam nodded slightly, but then he gave a sigh. Why? Well, another male voice made it rather obvious.



"So... You guys are having dinner at my place tomorrow." The man walked into the kitchen.

Marina made a tiny face as she moved to kiss Ephriam.



" I'm not too sure about that idea."



She said gently.



" Do I need to be concerned?"

Jethro whined slightly.



"Oh, come on! I really need some tolerable company!" Ephriam looked down at Marina.



"Chances are that we should be okay. It is not as though he is a ghetto bum or the like."

" I was more worried about him having some playboy harem thing going on or something."



Marina replied honestly, nestling a bit closer to Ephriam.

Jethro sighed now, rubbing the bridge of his nose as Ephriam laughed at him. The brunette vampire looked up at Marina.



"I thought we were past this thing, Cupcake."

Marina smiled and looked up at Jethro, slipping right into his arms, sweet little face looking up at him.



" Awww... You know I'm just giving you trouble sugar pie, honey bunch. I wouldn't ever accuse my snuggly candy bug of doing something like that."

Ephriam walked over now, standing right at the place where the two touched. Jethro didn't know what to do. Ephriam quite politely cleared his throat as a prompt. Jethro still didn't know what to do.



"Uh... Good. Just checking." He quite awkwardly let go and tried to step back.

"But, I don't wanna walk in and find out your cheating on me or something."



She chided cutely, looking him over, smiling as she placed a light little kiss on his cheek as she moved from his arms, looking to Ephriam as she sincerely cuddled to her master.
