" Freshman hazing, I guess you would call it. I got drugged, raped, and dumped out on the frozen lake. They left me there, thinking the ice would hold. I nearly drowned. It didn't hold, I was too drugged to come to."





Naomi offered absently, snuggling tighter to Hunter.

Hunter suddenly found himself wondering what she remembered of the night that Christian died. It was kind of eerie how life liked to come around to new parallels.



None of that from me.

Naomi smiled.



" I know, you kept me from the waters..."



Nestle, smile, kiss, repeat.

Hunter shrugged.



"I don't like the feeling of drowning."



Because he had tried (and obviously failed - he wasn't the sort that could drown).

" I would prefer not to find out if I can or not."



Naomi offered.

"I'd rather not either."



There was a reason he had kept you out of the water.

Naomi considered Hunter, and she tilted her head to the side, and promptly bit into his neck with rather little warning. She would only feed for a few seconds, and she'd actually tug one of his arms to protect her back. These actions might seem odd except there was soon a female standing in Hunter's livingroom.



She smelled similar to Christian, but that was the only resemblance. She didn't even offer words as she stood there. She was the reason that the dark ages were not recessing and allowing life to return to the balance it should be in.

After she pulled away from him, Hunter wiped off the blood. The man got up finally, pulling on a pair of pants before casually walking to meet the intruder. He glanced over her and then turned his head, looking around the corner.



"Thanks for not breaking my door down. Can I help you?"

Naomi looked over the woman. She was not so polite, she growled slightly. She wanted this woman gone. Hunter, she was a baby, and she was touchy about other vampires as it was, but a random female in your livingroom...





The woman straight up ignored Naomi, eying Hunter.



" You were present at my brother's murder. where is his murderer?"

Hunter shifted casually, considering her.



"I've seen a lot of people murdered. Just to be sure we're on the same page here, you mean Christian right?"

Naomi hissed again now, and uncoiled from the couch.



" That low life scum didn't deserve the peaceful death he was granted."





Now Naomi was noticed, and the woman was sizing Naomi up without guilt before she spoke.



" I know this, Do you not think I see what he has caused? But there is potential in everything, and knocking the humans down a few pegs doesn't hurt."



Back to Hunter.



" Yes, now."

Hunter had just stood there steadily, seeming entirely unbothered. The man considered the woman before deciding to answer simply.



"Romania."

" I want precision, old man, do not toy with me."



Naomi rolled her eyes, not too thrilled.



" Then go find him yourself, and skies help you when you do."



She replied simply. Honestly, she was most upset about being bothered. She was just getting comfortable with her and Hunter and everything.

Hunter smirked faintly.



"If I was toying with you, I wouldn't have given you an answer at all."



He shrugged.



"I can't be more specific than that. People move around a lot, especially ever since this whole mess began. No one wants to be too predictable."



But he did agree with Naomi's opinion, in case you were wondering.

Naomi wasn't caught off guard as the woman shifted. She caught the stranger's wrist, eyes flashing as she growled low now, tossing the woman back from her.



" Do. Not. Touch. Me."



Naomi snarled, the gold of her eyes were moving so quickly as to make one wonder if they were liquid.







the woman seemed to check herself now, and glanced over Hunter.



" She'll bring you nothing but trouble, godlings... psh."



and the woman would vanish.

Hunter seemed to forget the woman instantly... almost. His eyes turned to Naomi and he applauded her.



"That was very nice."

Naomi shook her head.



" I do not like stranger's hands on me... "



She offered honestly, moving to Hunter and kissing him eagerly.



" Well, you were an exception."



He really had been.

"It didn't bother me at all. I'm proud of you."



Thus the applauding and reward kiss.



"You don't regret making it then?"



The exception.

Naomi looked over Hunter, and offered him something not normally offered from this person. A genuine, warm smile.



" No."

Hunter then chuckled faintly to himself, shaking his head and moving so that he could sit down on the couch. Whatever he was chuckling from... well, he didn't share what that was.

Naomi would watch him, but not return back to his lap, instead standing before the glass wall, having absently pushed the tacks aside to get there.





" she brought friends."



She offered absently as she watched movement in what was now taking place outside.





Why had Fang decided indoors was best about three seconds after strange lady left? well, thunder snow had rolled in. So now they were enduring inches in minutes. Naomi was watching the window slowly but surely become blocked and covered thanks to the winds.



" We can still freeze to death, can't we?"



It would make sense, if the blood froze solid... or at least, it would put them in stasis.

Hunter stood there, watching it. He slowly shook his head, and he said something that had been said before (though of course he didn't know this).



"Only if you're an embryonic Type B baby."



Okay, that wasn't the part that had been said.



"No. You could put us in a freezer then take us out later. We'd thaw out and be completely fine... though I wouldn't be around me once I'd thawed out."



He'd be very grumpy, to say the least.

" So are they going to make it to the house?"



She asked absently, eyes locked on the moving piles of snow. The answer would be no. They would not make it before their hearts frozen and their bodies followed.

Hunter's eyes flicked first between the bodies, gauging their rate of movement. Then, he did the same with the accumulating snow. He glanced at her.



"Likely not."



Barring odd circumstance.

Naomi watched them, and then nodded to herself when she was certain they were not a current threat, moving to Hunter's lap.



She would bite him again, more as a comfort thing as she would fall asleep. She'd not rested well at all lately, it would be nice to change that.

Hunter would look at her for a long moment, and then he would give a small nod to himself. He'd let her rest there, himself closing his eyes and stilling. However, it would be important to note that Hunter wasn't sleeping. He wasn't even trying to.

Security blanket. That was essentially what Hunter was while the woman would nap. She rested for two hours or so, and would wake, fangs retracting of their own accord.



Hi...



It was groggy, as if she wasn't entirely sure she wished to be away. She wasn't.

Hunter's response came quickly, kind of like when you call someone and they happen to have the phone already in their hand so that it seems like they were just waiting on you.



Hey.



He didn't move.

... I stayed like that the whole time, didn't I?



She asked, still battling sleep. It was cute.

The response was in the same manner.



Yes.

I am sorry.



She stated gently, rubbing at her eyes.

It's fine. I don't mind.



Hunter offered this easily to the stirring woman.

everytime someone new is around lately, I seem to be some sort of pass time target....



She offered as a gentle apology, kissing him softly.

Naomi nestled tighter to Hunter.



I like being your past time, but the rest can bug off.

You know... I don't think that would be the worst thing to ever happen.



Hunter mused about this, trying to decide exactly how he would feel about it.

Better not be, your the one who offered to keep me.



If he didn't want her, he should have said something.

Oh, I didn't mean it that way. I meant as far as everyone else leaving me completely alone for all of eternity.



The Naomi hanging around part he was COMPLETELY okay with.

Well, almost everyone....



She offered, snuggling and cuddling closer to him.



That Catherine girl says she wants to talk to me... and she's not mean...

Hunter nodded.



I know. Catherine is gracious. You can trust her more than most other people that you meet.



He opened his eyes then, looking at her.



There'd be no harm in talking to her.
