On the Floor

[Sushi]

Mason looked at her as though that was the dumbest question ever. He pointed to the cast on his leg.



Cael wandered off to make the call.

[Tree]

" no, no, Where ?"

[Sushi]

Mason shrugged.



"Just into town, you know. There's an orthopedic doctor down by the donut shop on Third."

[Tree]

Alyson nodded and smiled at him slightly before heading to the kitchen now, planning on making dinner.

[Sushi]

Cael stood there for some time, chatting simply with the man. It was very absent as he handed Alyson whatever ingredient she needed that he was still standing in front of. Finally, he let out a huge sigh.



"Yes. I'm completely fine. I'm digesting food like a normal being and everything like that. I don't see why..." He broke off listening.



"Fine..." And then he hung up.



Mason hobbled in.



"So what's for dinner?"

[Tree]

alyson looked up, smiling slightly.



" Cajun Chicken quesadillas."



She purred, the dinner would be ready soon.

[Sushi]

Mason's eyes went wide as he stared at the oven as though it was a lion in disguise.



"What's in your recipe? I'm allergic to cumin..."

[Tree]

" Cheyenne, red peppers, Habaneros, tie peppers... Cheese, chicken, flour, milk, a few eggs......"

[Sushi]

Mason relaxed.



"Okay, no worries."



Cael sighed softly.



"Well, you two have fun. I'm not really hungry..." And he began to skulk off.

[Tree]

alyson looked after Cael, serving mason quickly before darting off the man, snatching his arm gently.



" what is wrong?"

[Sushi]

Cael gave her an odd look.



"Uh... What do you mean?"

[Tree]

Alyson looked him over.



" That phone call wasn't encouraging on this end, it upset you."

[Sushi]

Cael actually laughed now.



"Oh, no. The doctor is just a blowhard. Very hard to get along with... Didn't you see that when you met him?"

[Tree]

alyson hesitated.



" I thought he was just being mean to me cause he was cross with me."



She explained sheepishly.

[Sushi]

"Nah. He's a butthead. But he's the best at what he does, so what can you do?" Cael shrugged.



Mason was staring through the little window, watching the chicken cook.

[Tree]

Alyson smiled, moving to kiss Cael now.



" come eat then? I don't want you going hungry."

[Sushi]

Cael groaned.



"But I'm not hungry..."



Mason was poking the chicken with a wooden skewer. How did you tell when chicken was done again?

[Tree]

Alyson pouted slightly.



" then don't leave me alone with mason at least?"

[Sushi]

Cael smiled faintly.



"Alright." He grabbed a pack of cards and lay out a solitaire round on his end of the kitchen table.

[Tree]

alyson smiled brightly, moving to kiss him and wondered back to the kitchen to stare at Mason wearing the apron wrong, and holding a potholder weilding a wooden spoon, poking at the still half wrapped hen in the oven. she didn't know what to do as she glanced to cael.



" Does this happen often?"

[Sushi]

Cael sighed and gave her a flat look.



"You have no idea."



Mason let out a frustrated groan.



"Help. I can't balance the pan and my crutch!"

[Tree]

alyson tried not to laugh as she shook her head, turning on the exhaust fan and turned the oven, leaving the ruined food in the oven, looking to Mason.



" Firstly, it's still raw in the center and burnt on the outside, nextly, it's got plastic melted into it... Stick to poptarts "



She purred, coughing slightly as the plastic smell started to settle in the kitchen, opening windows just to get rid of the smell.

[Sushi]

Mason sighed.



"Aww..."



Cael continued playing his game of cards, speaking without looking up.



"But you did better this time. You put it in the oven instead of the microwave." Something about it seemed more taunting than congratulatory.



"Oh shut up."

[Tree]

Alyson stared at Mason.



" Did you rea-p never mind, i don't wanna know."



she stated simply, soon having something else for the hungry man to eat, as well as herself.

[Sushi]

Mason was rather happy. Cael just sat there, ticking away at his cards.



"Ahhh... That's impossible, where...?" He looked around. The counting of the card was off. He was missing the six of clubs, and there was no way that it could be... Cael looked up at the exact same moment that Mason cackled, reaching over and pulling the card out of Alyson's pocket.

Glancing to the card he pulled from her front pocket, she sighed and snatched it free of mason's grasp, grumbling something incoherent.

[Sushi]

Mason smiled faintly.



"I should do parties, huh?"



Cael just sighed and snatched the card from Alyson now, sticking it back into his game.

[Tree]

Alyson looked at cael, sparing him a rather dry look before giving Mason a flat one, eyes rolling slightly.



" You'd get more laughs with your cooking."

[Sushi]

Mason just rolled his eyes, not taking too much offense. After all, it wasn't like he didn't KNOW he was a bad cook.



"Not looking for laughs as much as the shock-and-awe."

[Tree]

" Might get more from your cooking still."



She purred with a cute smile.

[Sushi]

Mason rolled his eyes once more, making a face at her.



That was that. So, synopsis: after a great many catastrophes, the trio were once more in their happy house doing... absolutely nothing.

[Tree]

Alyson sighed and looked over the two men and then looked over at Mason...





" So I checked my e-mail for the first time in forever.... and... They are throwing a small party in a couple nights...... But I'd actually need permission to go..."



She stated hesitantly.

[Sushi]

Mason smiled triumphantly. All that trouble she was giving him and now she was asking for a night off!



"Well, I don't know, I'd have to think about..." Cael's voice was simple.



"Yeah, go ahead." Mason gave him a dirty look but did not try to contradict.

[Tree]

Alyson looked to cael, sighing softly, looking a little let down, but not much... Then again, she was pretty good at keeping to herself.



" would you come if I asked you to?"

[Sushi]

Mason raised his hand now.



"I would! I like parties!"



Cael glanced up at her, raising a brow. Why would she want him to go?



"...What kind of party is it?" If it was a tupperware party or something like that, there was no chance whatsoever that he would go.

[Tree]

" Strip..."



she purred slowly, hence the permission.

[Sushi]

Mason raised his hand.



"Now I'll REALLY go!"



Cael peered at her cautiously.



"Who exactly would be stripping?"

[Tree]

" Whoever would like, but obviously the two hostesses."



she replied honestly, tip-toeing around this one carefully, not liking how he seemed to be treating her more like her brother recently, as if what she was was all of a sudden something less. His attempt at helping her keep her humanity was having a rather, well, opposite effect....

[Sushi]

Cael let out a sigh of relief.



"If that's the case, I guess I can go." What he was really saying was 'as long as I don't have to, I guess I can go'.

[Tree]

Alyson nodded slowly, looking over the two boys, then looking to cael... as much as mason was an easy yes, She needed someone that could walk for the following project....



" I need help picking something out to wear to the party..."
