On the Floor

[Sushi]

Cael furrowed his brows as he found his hands holding her shirt. He stared at it, fingers working the fabric as he shook his head. The man wasn't trying to hurt her, but... for Cael this was like crying from desperation.



"You are hired as a service to our desires." On a very surface level, that was what it amounted to, after all.



"I do not desire to own you. I don't even want you to dance, not for me anymore. Don't worry, your paycheck won't be cut. But since you feel that way, I want no part of whatever sucks the humanity out of you." He tossed the shirt back to her, crossing his arms and looking away.



((BTW, I am sitting here and I cannot for the life of me remember what all I said last night. I remember that I was pretty loopy and I remember laughing a lot. And I remember slipping up about the *ehm* 'sexy armadillo'))

Alyson didn't reached for the clothing as she moved on him, turning his head to face her once more, moving to kiss him softly.



" Your the only person in years, to show more care about me then as merely a stripper. "



She started softly, eyes remaining upon him.



" I'll always dance for you. I enjoy the dancing, I don't enjoy the labels."



She tried to explain softly.



" I enjoy pleasing others, in more ways then just sex."



She was having large issues trying to explain this, shaking her head slightly.



" You do own me, in a way, but I am still human. I merely see yourself as worth more, and I don't know how to explain that without being incriminating."



She stated finally, moving to place a few more light kisses to him before moving back from him slowly, hair falling about the place as she considered him.

[Sushi]

Cael sighed softly and simply shook his head. He didn't know what to say. The man let out a breath, seeming to deflate as he also slid down the wall so that he was laying flat again.



"Life sucks."

[Tree]

Alyson smiled ever so slightly, standing to be before him, eyes wondering him.



" I'm aware. But you seem to be doing well now."



she purred, fingers playing in his hair, hands slowly making their way down the arm closest to her.



" I plan to still dance for you."

[Sushi]

Cael just sighed again, pulling up his blanket over his chest as his eyes turned away towards his amazing lamp. There was nothing for him to say. it was a pointless battle. No one would win. People would only get hurt.

Alyson sighed, taking her hands away and leaving the room, heading to check on Mason without a word, feeling once more like all she was good for was messing things up.

[Sushi]

Cael didn't call her back. Misery may love company, but in the end, both parties end up even more miserable than they began. The man glanced down to see that pink shirt still laying across his knee. He picked it up, playing with it as he thought about the whole thing. At some point or another, however, he ended up falling asleep - still holding on to the shirt.



Mason was sitting on his bed, looking through his souvenirs. He nearly jumped out of his skin when the door opened.



"Oh. Hi."

[Tree]

Alyson smiled slightly, reaching over and tugging on his shirt that was laying on the floor ( you know, the black one with the shiney buttons that he stole from cael XD ) and was soon setting beside Mason, sighing as she saw all the little items he hand in his possession, shaking her head.



" A thief and a depressed shadow walker."

[Sushi]

Mason was not even fazed. He continued to shine the candle snuffer he had lifted, looking to over carefully.



"And an exotic dancer. Yup. That's life for you."

[Tree]

alyson sighed, actually reaching over and taking a ring laying upon the bed, seeing if it would fit her finger.



" I'm keeping this."

[Sushi]

Mason chuckled softly.



"And they call me the thief." He glanced up and her, seeing what she was holding. He smiled faintly and nodded in approval.



"I didn't steal that one, by the way. It fell out of the pockets of one of the guys that stole my crutch. No, really, I swear!"

[Tree]

Alyson glanced up, smiling slightly.



" I'm not stealing, because I'm telling you I took it... and if you told me no, I'd pout and give it back."



She reasoned, playing with it in the light before moving to look over whatever else he had. Hey, if it was already stolen, why not look?

[Sushi]

Mason chuckled.



"Note that I am so attached to it. I was just teasing." He picked up a shiny mirror with dove and faintly painted pink flowers shaped into the sliver backing. It was like a little pocket hand mirror.



"I was thinking of stashing this somewhere in Cael's room. Just to see what he would do when he found it."

[Tree]

" Now wouldn't be the time."



Alyson corrected him, considering the items a moment more before reaching over to lift a pocket knife that appeared to be made from solid silver.



" where do you get some of these things?"

[Sushi]

Mason glanced up at the knife, taking it from her hands and flipping it open.



"You would be surprised the things that people carry around. You would be even more surprised what sort of things end up lying in completely obscure places." He shrugged slightly, going about polishing this thing too. Yes, that was an obscure answer, but then again that was kind of like asking a magician how to do a trick.

Alyson took the answer for what it was worth, enjoying her new item on her hand, rather content for a moment before sighing again.



" You know, we really are the oddest group."

[Sushi]

"Nope. I knew a traveling circus group personally. That is the oddest group of people I ever met." Mason shuffled over and began to put things away.

[Tree]

alyson rolled her eyes, standing and leaving mason to his treasure play and headed off to her room to get some reading done, as she didn't see sleep happening.

[Sushi]

Mason did eventually crawl back into bed.



Cael slept through two meals in that bed, laying there and holding to Alyson's shirt.



At this rate, Alyson was going to be the only one with jet lag.

[Tree]

Alyson yawned and walked out to make breakfast for Mason, as well as lunch, wondering into Cael's room as mason ate, climbing onto the bed slowly, kissing the man's neck lightly, speaking in his ear faintly.



" Are you going to return to the waking world?"

[Sushi]

Cael was so fast asleep and Alyson's movements were so slow that he didn't wake up until she spoke and kissed. His breathing broke rhythm as he inhaled deeply, but he didn't move, speaking sleepily from beneath closed eyes.



"Do I have to?"

[Tree]

" Prefer the company of what your dreams offer, rather then reality?"



Alyson asked gently, kissing at him a bit more, nuzzling him lightly.

[Sushi]

Cael actually laughed softly, his eyes cracking open.



"At risk of answering a loaded question: doesn't everyone?"

[Tree]

Alyson smiled slightly, shaking her head.



" My dreams hold no relief for me right now."

[Sushi]

Cael opened his eyes the rest of the way, considering her.



"Not to be mistaken for the inability to sleep?"

[Tree]

" My dreams hold pain for me. I don't want them."



she purred gently, looking him over.



" besides, I like my time with you better."

[Sushi]

Cael smiled faintly.



"Mason is not the company you expected?"

[Tree]

" Oh, he's entertaining enough, but I still prefer your's to his. At least, most of the time."

[Sushi]

Cael laughed softly, reaching to throw back his blanket. The man looked down to see her pink shirt bunched up near his shoulder.



"Huh... Um... Would you like your shirt back? I've been keeping it warm for you."

[Tree]

" No, I'm good with this new one "



She purred, large smile upon her face.

[Sushi]

Cael tossed a glance at the shirt and shook his head.



"You know... That shirt is actually mine. Mason stole it."

[Tree]

Alyson looked to him, trying not to laugh at the irony, and started unbuttoning it, and then handed it to cael.



" There."

[Sushi]

Cael shook his head and picked up both the black shirt and the pink shirt. The man then lay both in her lap.



"You can keep it for now. I only wear it for special occasions. T-shirt kind of guy, you know?"

[Tree]

Alyson smiled at him, moving to take the black shirt and put it back on, leaning over and kissing him.



" I prefer you clothesless anyway. But I doubt Mason does."

[Sushi]

Cael laughed at that one, finally sitting up the rest of the way. Complete with pajama bottoms and a wife-beater, he had to do a double take at the heavily shaded window. He pulled back the curtain only to see that the sun was on the completely wrong side of the house.



"Good grief, what time is it?"

[Tree]

" Neatlu dinner time, i believe it's fi- Nope, it's six now."



She purred, looking to her watch.

[Sushi]

Cael's eyes widened slightly.



"Oh..." And that was all he could say.



Chink-clunk. Chink-clunk. Chink-clunk. Mason eventually poked his head through the door.



"So... I need a ride tomorrow..."

[Tree]

Alyson looked up, nodding as she heard his statement, looking to Cael.



" Your doctor wanted you to call."

[Sushi]

Cael blinked a few times, as though not understanding what she said at first.



"Oh. Okay." He looked around, not seeing his phone anywhere. THen the man gave Mason a glare. Mason's hands shot up.



"Don't look at me like that!"

[Tree]

" It's in the kitchen."



she replied, having not given it back to him.



" Where are you needing to go?"
