What's Wrong With....?

Suri smiled, catching the fruit and started peeling it as she followed after the invisible child, listening for her voice.

They ran into a dead end.

"Your turn!" She cried. This time a sheet fell across the both of them. But as the sheet fell, it seemed to change the room almost. On the surface of the fog was a reflected image. It looked like a dancefloor, people enjoying.

suri smiled, simply leading the way, enjoying the rather simple game with the child.

And then the floor fell out from under Suri. Literally. However, she needn't worry, as she was caught.... by something that felt oddly like a coatrack. The child giggled from above.

"That's not the way!"

" very well and all, but how to get out?"

she asked simply, not sure what had her, or how to get free from it.

The coatrack suddenly stretched, it's 'limbs' wrapping all the way around her. Then a voice that seemed to be more vibration than sound drifted from the object.

"What're the magic words?"

The child just giggled again.

" Please? Open seasame?"

she tried timidly, not at all sure what in the world she was dealing with, wondering if it were time to pull in the real magics.

The coatrack continued to expanding, wrapping around her over and over and over again.

"Those words aren't magic. What is magic is what makes the world change in the blink of an eye, what you have to say to someone else."

" I'm sorry?"

She ventured, thinking over the idea of just appearing back in her safe little bed, aware from weirdo unknowno.

"Not to ask forgiveness, but permission."

The child above burped.

There was a faint chuckle from a familiar, smooth voice.

"Pardon me." A hand slid to the back of Suri's shoulders as the curls simply fell away.

"You seem a little tied up, but I had to ask... are you enjoying yourself?"

Suri smiled at the hold upon her, hand snaking towards the vampire, eyes slowly locating his own, small grin upon her face.

" Oh yes, muchly."

Vynz grinned at her widely, completely unperturbed by the proximity.

"I thought you would. I just came to tell you that I'm going home, lest you seek to pick up your stalking tendencies once you leave. Have a nice night."

Suri sighed and pouted.

" I outta leave too, i have first shift tomorrow."

She complained softly as she planned to follow his lead out.

Vynz shrugged.

"Alright, but you have to use your own coin. Unless you want the thrill that follows trying to step in where you have not been invited." He smirked to himself as he pulled a strange jade coin from his pants pocket. The man ran his thumb across the coin as he glanced up at Suri with a wink.

"That was my idea, new girl. You should try it some time." However, by this point, the man had flicked the coin up in the air. But as it came down, it came not as a jade coin, but as a rope ladder. The man climbed up a couple rungs and the thing began to go up as he climbed. Suri would find an identical coin on a chain around her neck - seeing as she didn't have pockets. Vynz disappeared into the fog, and was walking down the damp street above in a matter of moments.

It did take the girl a few minutes to locate her own coin, and then was on her way out, and standing upon the street once more. Hiding a small yawn, she was soon wondering back towards her small cozy apartment and more importantly, her bed.

Vynz had an odd feeling that night, so much so that he actually bothered to lock his door that night. However, it didn't really bother him. Climbed into his bed with the cabinets shut, he slept rather contently.

Sleeping soundly, she slept through the entire next day, not to mention her shift. Opps.

Vynz got a rather nasty phone call early during the woman's shift. It was Evynna. He frowned as he switched out his laundry while she bellowed at him through the phone.

"What do you want me to do about it? Would you like me to dance on the pole? Oh wait, I don't work there." With nothing else he hung up, starting the dryer. That night he decided that he was going to cheer himself up. He found a little alley in the dark and spent the time sneaking up on people and scaring them half to death.

Covering a night shift to make up for the woman that had covered her dayshit, she got off work, merely to be harassed by a few overly intoxicated patrons. It didn't last long as she soon vanished from sighed and was on the hunt for something a bit more fun. She went to that little shop. Time for something new.

Vynz was simply skulking down the street at this point. However, when he made it home, he actually hesitated in his living room, looking around. That inkling was even worse tonight. He pressed his lips into a tight line, locking the door.

Poking about in the shop, she snatched up a few bottles and books, even a rather novel item. A wand.

Vynz opened the door the next morning and nearly slipped and bit the dust. Words had been written on his doorstep in blood.

Your trial has begun. There was an hourglass there, one that ran so slowly that surely it would take days before it ran out. He frowned and cleaned it up. Some idiot from town, no doubt. Surely nothing to worry about.

as she wondered out with her paper bag full of new items, she looked over the walk way and wondered out to vynz's house, just to watch the man cleann-up ( Yes, she'd been out all night, off the next day.)

Vynz did a very good job of ignoring her. At least until he was done, the man didn't even seem to notice her. However, as he dropped a cloth into a bucket and stood up, his eyes fell directly on her.

"Did you need something?"

Vynz glanced up and paused, shifting the bucket from one hand to the other. He didn't like sharing 'personal problems', but something about this moved him to it...

"I'm not sure... Why don't you come in, and I'll show you something?" He held open the door for her.

Walking in, placing her bag on the floor, overly careful, eyes upon vynz.

"The past two nights I've had a feeling... one of those supersensory gut things, you know. And today... well... I put it in here..." Vynz set the bucket in the kitchen and walked into his room. All of the doors were shut, so obviously it just looked like a room and not his sleeping place, but... he walked over to the desk and picked up the hourglass, showing it to her.

"My doorstep said 'Your trial has begun' in blood..."

Unlike her at all, suri stepped back slightly, shaking her head, looking up at vynz.

" That's not good."

she stated simply, many other warnings coming to mind, but keeping them to herself.

Vynz smirked faintly, gently placing the glass thing back down on his desk.

"It is perplexing, but not particularly concerning. This isn't Transylvania... or Salem, as the case may be."

Vynz rolled his eyes now.

"I didn't ask you to deal with it. You wanted to know what was going on, so I showed you. Don't get your panties in a bunch." With that, he left her in that room, sliding off to the kitchen so that he could rinse out the bucket and toss the cloth in the laundry. Bloodstain? Forget it. Who knows better how to clean out blood than a vampire?

" So what do you plan on doing with it?"

She asked curiously, now standing in the walkway into his kitchen like area, wondering if she should mark this area as cursed and put warnings up for other sorceresses.

Vynz just shrugged, opening his dishwasher and beginning to put away his dishes into the cabinets. What? It was Sunday - his chore day.

"Leave it there. Put in the center of my coffee table, maybe. It would make an interesting centerpiece, I think." He set out a nice crystal bowl onto the counter and began fishing out what he intended to fill it with.

"Eat my jellybeans and lose a finger." He set the huge five pound bag on the counter as he began fishing out all the ones that were in some manner or another a flavor of green. Those were the ones going in the bowl today.

Suri stared at it a moment, then shook her head. She had to see something. yep, all the RED cherry jelly beans were already missing. oh well.

Vynz set that out on the counter and then dug out some windex. This time he didn't spare her a glance.

"I hope you are not waiting for me to entertain you." With that he sprayed the windows.
