Ephriam blew out a sharp breath this time.

"Marina!" Yet he found that his own willpower was fading. He found himself exchanging kisses with her and everything.

Marina didn't ease uo on him as she covered him in kisses, pulling and tugging at him, kissing over him more, hands working him now, feeling the hard member in her hands, direly wanting to take advantage of him.

However, she stopped, and tears started to pour form her eyes as she pulled completely away from him, climbing from the tub. She knew better. She couldn't do it to him, despite how direly bad she longed to.

Drying off carefully, tears slowly running down her cheeks, she left the bathroom, terry cloth robe wrapped about her.

Ephriam's reaction was a puzzling one. Having that happen to you was not a comfortable thing. However, he didn't have the right mindset to follow her immediately. He sat there and actually chewed a towel into ribbons. The man did keep quite until he cooled off. And then he slipped into Marina's room quietly. What was he supposed to say?

Marina was setting at her vanity now, brushing her hair, tears still in a place.

" You don't really want it yet."

She explained softly, now focusing on painting her nails. This was hard on her. She'd finally, for once, gotten him to the point she was, and she'd had to walk away.

Ephriam let out a long sigh, and then walked up behind her, bending over her and cupping her face, rubbing at the tears.

"I think that is a little off from the truth." He stared down into her bright eyes.

"I want that." He gave a soft laugh. "Really, I do. I am just... concerned of what would come of it." He didn't say anything about that being not fair, he didn't say anything about what had just happened at all really.

Marina looked at him, pulling free from his hands, biting her lip as she looked to her hands.

" I'm sorry. "

she said gently, looking to her fingers as if they'd wronged her.

" I'm sorry, that something like that has to be such a concern because of what I am."

She said gently, taking a deep breath to keep her nerves calm as she swallowed a bit harder.

Ephriam shook his head and let his arms fall to his sides.

"No, you are perfect. I am the one that should be sorry. I am the monster here, preying on the innocent." He gestured towards Marina as his eyes dropped to the side.

Marina looked to him, and reached towards him slowly, tugging on his arms gently.

Ephriam easily gave her his arms, enclosing them around her. His eyes looked down at her sadly.

"The desire I am destined to take until nothing gives and something breaks."

She informed him softly, nestling to his chest, closing her eyes.

Ephriam pressed his lips together before speaking quietly.

"I just want to make sure that there is something left for me to have." He tilted his head down, running his lips across her temple.

Marina moved, and actauly managed to push him at an angle to fall upon her bed, climbing upon him slowly, still dressed in her robe.

" There's more here, for one, then your giving credit... and I'm not going to die instantly."

She said softly, kissing him softly, resting down ontop of him.

Ephriam had to mentally smack himself. Still, his fingers caught her at the waist.

"No, not instantly." He smiled against her warm mouth.

"Marina, you know not what you do."

Ephriam sighed and gently let his fingers trace down her throat. At least she seemed better.

"Even a world apart I find that a tempting thought." Something about his words seemed rueful.

"Be gentle with it." He pressed a hand over his heart.

"Do not feel guilty for what others do. You can never make someone commit an action they do not themselves sanction."

Ephriam looked at her, eyes connecting pointedly.

"My programming has been evolving slowly. I speak like you. I dress like you." He gave a smile tinted with jest and sadness. "I take baths with you." He ran a hand through his hair.

"Listen, it is my fear more than even my nature. You would be placing your life in my unsteady hands."

Ephriam's washed out eyes considered her thoughtfully and then he shook his head.

"They only tend to shake when so close... I am afraid of dropping you, Marina. I am far too attached to have to let you go."

she said simply. She refused to push this where he was so worried of hurting her.

Ephriam sighed slightly and glanced away as he stood up.

"Thing can only break so many times before they can no longer be mended." He took a couple steps away, his heart aching for her.

"If I came in the middle of the night and forced my nature upon you, would that absolve your guilt?" If only he knew what she had been suggesting before.

Marina looked him over, and simply nestled down to his chest, closing her eyes, claming her body, by force.

Ephriam turned his head.

"Yet you say that you would never lift a finger against me." He seemed deeply saddened by this thought. He was of course referring to the knife that he had given her. His fingers ran over the grain of the door.

Ephriam turned so that he sat on the edge of the bed.

"Losing yourself would hurt me far worse than a little flesh wound." The man offered his hands. "I have been run through by a pitchfork before. I hardly think..." He trailed off.

Marina looked at him, fighting a million little emotions.

" Anything... is still not everything. Love... I know how you feel, I refuse to take something, even once offered, after I've been rejected so much. I'd prefer to be in agony, then to hurt you.... ... And I know that you want me to be willing to use that... thing upon you if needed... but I told you when you gave it to me that I wouldn't be able to. I can't."

Ephriam turned almost crazily now. He poured out a little glass of water from her bedside table. He turned and picked up a nail clipped, flipping open the little piece that is used to clean from beneath the fingernails.

"Look." And with that he cut open the inside of his wrist, clenching his fist so that the blood ran into the cup.

"This is almost painless to me. It is already healing. You see this glass? Take it. It will kill your body. It will hurt worse than anything you have ever dreamed of. You will swear that your blood has turned to acid and that your lungs have been filled with poison. But it will make you just like me. Just like me. Enough to walk away. Enough to have everything."

Marina looked at him like he was a mad man, not sure what to think, heart aching as she listened to him.

" I don't want it to happen like this."

she tried to explain to him, looking to him in pain.

" stop this, your starting to scare me... understand that I know what I can and can't have... I hear what your saying, I just can not help how I feel."

"I am scaring you." He picked up the glass, his face pinched in a strange sort of agony. The man finally turned, pacing over to the door with the glass in hand.

"I suppose that fits. My sincerest apologies. I wish that I could mend things." He slipped out, looking like he might actually spontaneously combust.

Marina watched him move from her, moving after him, catching his arm as he tried to leave her room.

" Stop running from me, too. Everytime we disagree you try to leave me. Stop it. I'm not going anywhere. I love you. Your stuck with me... I'm not ready to be thrust into this because your frustrated with me. ... I need my patient lover before I'm thrown into those kind of torrents."

She tried to explained, looking as pained as he.

"Your scaring me because I've never seen you lose it like this. I don't know how to handle this side of you."

she nuzzled him softly now, slipping back `into his arms.

" I love you. Keep me, don't forsake me just because I'm a little selfish horny b*tch. ... I can work on that, and I'm learning to deal. I just need time. We can be together soon enough. We can have eternity soon enough... I want it, but when your actually wanting to bring me into it. When your ready for me."
