she complained finally, coughing once more as she covered him in kisses and snuggled tighter to him, actually lookign like a little kid ready to fall out at any time.

Ephriam found that statement particularly funny and couldn't hold back a little laugh as he held her. That was right. He at least appreciated irony, even after all these years. However, for both her benefit (and he suspected his) he didn't point it out to her. He just waited for the sickly woman to fall asleep.

Marina was gone before he actually had finished his light laughter, resting to him, hands locked in the folds of his clothes, refusing to let go, even in her slumbering state, content with her location.

Ephriam just sat there and held her. After all, sitting still didn't bother him. Holding her definitely didn't bother him. What motive was there not to let her just sleep? That's right. None. Except maybe the possibility of Jethro eating all the food. But Eph was willing to live with that one.

alittle bit later ( 5 or so hours) Marina woke, and bolted to the bathroom. returning a few minutes later, she considered Ephriam.

" you should be in the British guard if you can hold poses for so long."

she teased, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

Ephriam stood up now, smoothing out his pants.

"I filled in for a man once in my younger days. It is hardly as fun as you would think."

She replied, shrugging as she looked him over, smiling sweetly as she coughed again.

" Come play in the bubbles with me."

"Soap. A modern miracle." He followed her into the bathroom easily.

" No, bubblies, not soapies."

she purred with a small smile as the jetted tub started mixing and making bubbles with the loads of bubble bath she'd added, stripping carefully.

Ephriam laughed softly.

"Well, bubble bath is soap, but..." He was busy trying to get his sock off. The man shoved it into the toe of his shoe, noticing that he had got a little bit of blood on it. Casualty of the household, but still... He turned and hopped into the tub, offering her a hand.

Marina replied cutely, kissing him as she slid into the water.

Ephriam grinned and gave her a kiss. He then scooped up a few bubbles, plopping them right on top of her head.

"Okay, okay. Bubbles are bubbles and soap is soap."

Marina smiled, as if she'd just won a major battle, covering him in kisses and playing in the bubbling water.

Ephriam sat there, smiling faintly as he watched her. The man nodded, glad that she was at least enjoying herself. That meant she had to be getting better. Absently, he was smearing bubbles on like a beard.

Grinning, she looked over as she saw Ephriam, moving to kiss her bubble covered man, hands pulling her to sit in his lap ( which resulted in an honest, accident grabbing of parts she wasn't after... which she pretended didn't happen) as she kissed at his neck.

Ephriam sucked in a sharp breath of air at that one. He couldn't really help it, nonetheless ignore it. The greens of his washed-out eyes settled on her.

"Easy now." He was actually having to fight back one of those stupid smiles that didn't want to stay buried.

Ephriam was trying to gently pull back a little, but he was pinned between the bath and the woman. Agh, you are killing me.

Ephriam gave another exasperated sigh and then turned his head to the side.

"Errggg..." He bit down on the skin between his thumb and forefinger, looking between her and the water. And then he pulled it out of his mouth, diving out from underneath her.

Marina was unhappy now and glared at him as he resurfaced

she complained... it was true, even in the tub she was usually in his lap... however... he moved away, without warning, and she wasn't happy.

The man wasn't exactly arguing. Well, he was, but only kinda. Ephriam hadn't realized how much of tease she was until this moment. It was somewhat bothersome.
