But he didn't bid her to return, didn't chase her. Cael forced another chip or two down his gullet before just slinking back to where his son stayed.

Alyson took a cab back to her little girl, settling and watching the child breath, waiting for mason to return. the chair had still been warm, so he could just be peeing, or be gone for the evening.

Mason needed to get out for a little while, to get some fresh air. Eventually, he would come back. The man didn't notice Alyson right away. He had a present, which he put on top of his daughter's isolette.

Alyson looked up, kind of thrown off.

"oh..."

She rubbed her eyes, stretching slowly.

" They say she's doing well enough to try an open crib later today."

She relayed obediently.

Alyson nodded.

" it's a good thing.. it means you are closer to having her home with you."

She offered, as was told her as she tried not to choke up again.

" ... have you come up with a middle name for her? they are forcing me to fill out her paper work..."

Alyson nodded.

" Ok. "

she replied, touching the top of her little girl's head.

" I will go, i love you... i'm sorry, you know... for not even being nice enough to die for you properly."

She would leave the room now and just go cry in the hall again. she needed these two men, and both were stretched so thin with the baby side that mama was just a wreck left to figure life out on her own
